Exactly the same as I do but I use brass or copper tubing then put the glow powder in the center.

I use Evergreen PS for many applications. It works very well.

Having experimented with this technique for a bass I'm building, I can tell you that the water-thin CA glue doesn't permeate the powder further than about 2-3mm. I did tests using lengths of tubing and the result was the same every time.

Really great tip. I used glow in the dark powder and epoxy And I just can't see the dots on the ebony fretboard. Especially because the ebony dust has covered the dots... thanks for the tip!

If you used this material to fill in the fret lines on a bass guitar fingerboard, how visible would they be?

Awesome! Appreciate the tip, and the links to the products! 🤙 😎 Have you had issues with the glow powder getting into the wood grain outside the tube and not being able to remove it from that wood grain?

Very cool! Have you tried using kicker on them? I’ll try these on my next neck for sure! I’m looking for black polystyrene tubing for a maple fretboard. Anyone find any yet?

I use kicker almost always when I use CA glue. Here's a link to some black carbon fiber tube that might work: www.rockwestcomposites.com/round-tubing/round-carbon-fiber-tubing/round-pultruded-tube

Highline Guitars Cool! Thanks for the link! I picked up a piece of 3/32 aluminum tubing to see if that works as well.

If i did this on a rosewood or ebony fretboard, would the inlays get effected if i apply lemon oil to the fretboard?

No, because they are encapsulated in glue.

Always love to see the projects you are working on and your recommendations. I have one question though. I have researched the glow powders and paints and everything I can find says that the products will only retain their glow properties for about 15 years or so. Now, that seems fine for some projects. But for a custom guitar that is built to last at least one lifetime, and hopefully many more, this seems like a major drawback to using the glow products. I don't mean to put u on the spot at all. Just curious about your thoughts here as this has me apprehensive about using these products in my designs

It is very easy to drill out the old dots and fill the holes with fresh powder.
