From start to finish - making a glow in dark SPACE BASS
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Our first glow in dark prototype is complete! We worked on this project on and off when we found time along with our other projects and we can't be happier how it turned out. The body is a little bit modified spring bass model while the head is similar to the Nate Navarro's sub octave bass. Wood used for this project is zebrano, maple and wenge. Also mahogany and ash veneer for in between the layers and electronics cover. We learned from our mistakes so we ditched the cheap looking hooks that held the strings and replaced them with single bone piece. We also abandoned the 3d printed knobs and replaced them with wooden ones. Greatest challenge was achieving the colors we imagined so it took a lot of layers of different kinds of lacquer, also sanding off entire layers when we weren't happy with the result. There were a couple of occasion where we thought about using this guitar as firewood;) It took probably a month of trial and error from the first layer to the polishing but I think the result was worth it. We also learned a lot for the next order:)

@Jevi Loko regardless of the process there has to be an idea, a concept, a use of imagination so yes there is lots of artistry involved. There always is in Lignum's projects

Glad you enjoyed it😁 Happy Easter to you too!
Stunning work as always. Thank you for sharing it with us.
That is one beautiful piece of art. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Wow! Beautiful wood you chose, stunning outcome.😊
Zebrano is such a beautiful wood, art in itself. The layering of different types of wood works so well. A simple transparent lacquer would be great too. I'm glad this one didn't end up on the burn pile. Frustration, and especially the strive for overcoming it, is a good drive to obtain master skills.
Enjoyed is an understatment as always! I'll never get tired of watching your endlessly unique takes on electric instruments! Honestly I've never seen anyone with so many interesting and unique ideas to keep things fresh and interesting! Looking forward to hearing back from you whenever you can, I wrote you a few weeks ago, but I know you must be busy. In any case, keep going with these videos, we love them! Amazing work!
Such a sick piece of art

So much effort and care taken in this build! Gotta get something made by you guys
Notice how some of these machines date from before man walked upon the EARTH!
I like how the finish is not completely opaque, so you can see some of the beautiful wood of the body underneath. Nicely done!!
Absolutely gorgeous my friends 👍 I love all of your videos

ok, fine, you made the coolest bass, so what edit: no but seriously, that is one of the coolest guitars of all time, like it's pretty up there, that is not something everyone can say. that's gotta be in the top 100 electric basses of all time if you want my opinion, prince had a bass, his is also in that same list, how bro, how is it so frekin cool
I almost cussed you out for covering up that beautiful wood but you still cab see it. Good job. Nice idea on the glow in the dark pigment.
Love it!
Again, you guys have done it. As always beatiful and elegant. I'm just wondering what will be your next project. Thanks for sharing
Waow it's a beautifull master pièce ❤
Wow, this channel deserves more views! And more comments (here's one). Thank you!
Good video always succes for you
There is nothing that i don't like about thia bass....love the black hardware, and those pickhps are sweet!
4:58 You may be able to use some kind of locating feature to make positioning the work on the bed easier/more reliable. For example: locating pins that are fixed to the bed and the machine zero is based on those pins. Then the design can make use of those known positions. Winston Moy on KZread has some good videos about that.
Insane!!
Not gonna lie, I thought it said "Ligma" on the headstock at the beginning. This is an awesome video! Such a cool concept, makes me want to try it on my next build.
Slap that bass!
Always love your videos! Would be nice to add the amount of speedup again for the robot, for exammple 8x speed or 16x sped up
sooooo coooool~

Neat. Do you design the CNC templates yourself?
I’d love a video on the cad process 😇
Who needs a normal cnc router, when you can have a robot arm with a spindle on it? :D
Omg. That the best 17 minutes I spent today. Ultimate bass porn, lol.
Amazing :D Whats the price for the robot with this setup? :D
Here i am struggling to make half decent luminous fret narkers and your making full glow in the dark bass....

What is the purpose of using the torch at 9:30?
How about using insulating paint rather than aluminum?

Dude, that's not a "space bass". Bootsy Collins plays the "space bass".
Glow in the dark Blue would be awesome. Instead I always find glow in the dark green... which I have no interest in. Also, these Basses don't turn up in search. Only reason I didn't buy 1. Make yaself available or get m off me home screen. I got no need for unicorns that don't exist. Put a price tag on it, make it available to public, then we can do business. Far as I'm concerned, you're a Myth. Available to 1 person = useless to me.
