Cav has been my favourite sprinter since the beginning and I've studied his style and watched videos on it. Nobody can get down on the bars like he can but at the same time keeping maximum power on the back wheel. NOBODY can match his style. That is his secret. You can train for years to try and match it and people just can't do it I've also met him several times at races and at the hotel a few times and I have several pics with him and he is quite slight. People say he's shortER and stocky but he's about 5' 8" I'm guessing and pretty damn slight framed when I had my arm around him in pics. Surprised the hell out of me that he can put out so much power but it's that style he's known for that got him to be the greatest sprinter of all time. NTT clocked him at 300m mark in TDF stage doing 74.7km/hr (46.4mph) with slight mechanical. I think that was '22 or '23 and I know he's done faster earlier in his career. Love him or hate him you can't say he wasn't incredible or fast 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I understand your frustration, for these Pros this is essentially a leg loosener, zone 2, easy over ride, a "recovery ride" and an opportunity to flush the lactate out of their legs before the ITT/time trial on Saturday. This was a perfect stage to have before a time trial, so the GC riders are slightly recovered and can give everything to improve their positions in the ITT. Unfortunately Tadej is more than 2 minutes ahead, but for 2nd to rest of top 10, Saturday's ITT is important.

I knew right away when I saw INEOS on the front that they were going to bust the peloton wide open when the crosswinds hit. They are the absolute best in the biz with crosswinds. They'll do it more often than not!! I dont think any team is better at crosswinds. I had a good feeling the peloton would come back together but I really hoped Milan would burn too many matches to get the win. HUGE mistake by his team and himself! Nature break or not it was a HUGE error!! They absolutely knew the crosswinds were coming up soon and they SHOULD have known when they saw INEOS on the front that they were going to blow it apart. Rookie mistake. They basically ALL got caught out. Milan must have either been mad or panicked cos he was on the front of second echelon trying to join the pack HIMSELF!! I think a bit of both to be honest. Angry and panicked I'm not a fan of Milan but I have no problem saying he did an incredible job today. Suffered the setback in crosswindsand burned a ton more matches than expected but came back and won that bunch sprint. Pretty amazing. I really wanted Merlier to win this stage and I really thought he had a great chance when I saw Milan and Lidl burning tons of matches trying to play catch-up. Gotta give it to Milan. Looking very strong!! Dammit tho 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

That's a given. Every sprinter has a few good seasons, 2 or MAYBE 3 and then a few bad ones and then just wins a few stages each year if he's lucky. It's the way it goes with sprinters. Cav is the only one that was able to win consistently for as long as he did. Sagan did incredible but he only did well for about 6 seasons or so then caput. He just stopped winning after he cheated on his wife. He never returned from that. Basically ended his career but while he was winning he was winning in a major way 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
