I have a relative who invents lots of stories that didn’t happen or not to the extent she describes the events. She is a huge narcissist, speaks about herself only and constantly. Unfortunately she loves to indulge into trends and anything that goes on, she claims to have experience with. It could be sexual assault or racial issues or childhood abuse … Most of her stories are nothing but a lie, but she convinces herself that they are true. Human brain is a big wonder!

Betty had suffered from a stroke before the first book was published. Bette died in 1989 after disinheriting BD and her family. BD went on to write several more books. *May Bette Davis R.I.P.. For myself, this kind of narrative casts shadows over every horrible thing she said about her mother. Bette Davis has been a beloved part of Hollywood history for almost 90 years. Her talent and range were phenomenal. She never shied away from playing unattractive or hateful roles; she took these characters and ran with her performance. There hasn't been anyone like her since she passed. Thank you, Miss Davis, for sharing your legendary talent with all of us. ❤

I will be 74 in July. I fell in love with Bette Davis when I saw a movie I no longer remember in the 70s. ❤ Love all her movies. ❤ I've read several books on her. What I heard here was in the books. I believe that BD and her husband were greedy and used Betty, which didnt stop BD from writing her book. Bette helped them both financially. I dont quit remember everything but, if BD was a true Christian, this book would not have been published, then again money is the root of all evil. I wonder what BDs children have to say. I haven't heard anything about Bettes other children either. If their life was so bad then why haven't they spoke up or written a book? They need to speak up but, maybe they don't want to hurt their mom. We all have sin in our lives and fall short of the glory of God. BD apparently doesnt know her Bible. My brother and my life was very far from perfect. God is our judge. Please, find it in your heart to forgive your mom, evan if she is no longer with us. BD, I WONDER WHAT YOUR CHILDREN WOULD HAVE TO SAY ABOUT YOU AND THEIR DAD. 🤔

B.D. praised her mother lavishly on 6o Minutes (it;s here on KZread)-- she then saw what a runaway hit "Mommie Dearest" was and waited until it looked likely that Bette's time was also almost up (after two strokes, a mastectomy, and a broken hip) to release her own hateful tome. .But Bette survived and the public rallied around her much to B.D."s regret... Even though both women, could be difficult at times, and they really were, they brought so much talent, and unforgettable, performances, to the big screen. Christina and Barbara, might have had their reasons for being bitter, and I dont feel its all lies, but to expose them, before and after they have passed wasn't right and what would it have changed? Like should people stop liking their films and hate them? All I know, that even if they could be, witches at times, they were only human and no one is perfect, though. they try to be. Even the best film stars today, have their bad sides, and good sides, but then again, we all have moods. Just don't hurt anyone, in a vicious way.

Not knowing Bette Davis as anyone other than an actress; I wouldn't doubt that she wasn't "Mother of the Year" and may have traumatized her daughter. That she wrote her daughter out of her will is telling that the two did not get along.

The daughter is what is called "functionally insane." This has been known for aboug 30 years now. Bette Davis was never violent, and she drank as casually as the rest of us. She was the First Lady of the cinema and brought joy to countless millions of people the last 80 years. She was strong, as a woman needed to be if she was to survive a business entirely run my misogynistic men of power and extreme wealth. B.D. was a spoiled child, much like Christina Crawford who has lived her entire life in an eternal rage over the fact that she simply didn't have what it took to be a loved actress.

Another daughter of an actress gets her 15 minutes of fame & notoriety by airing dirty laundry regarding her famous, talented Mother, who also supported her and her family. No matter the truth and it's not unusual for parents & children, especially daughters and mothers to be at odds come out publically to maligning her mother, Bette Davis post her stroke, and death imo shows her lack of love, and poor taste Good for Davis for disinheriting her.

Bette Davis was not nominated for an Oscar for “Of Human Bondage”. Although she received rave reviews and gained the respect of the industry for this role, Warner Brothers loaned her out to another studio so there was no publicity push for Bette to even get nominated for it. She won the following year for Dangerous, but it is generally believed it was the consolation prize for not having won for Bondage the prior year .
