This was really a fun night with Bob! I think sometime we should raid the Aquarium Co-op warehouse again. I’d be down for it.😎

Hi there! I truly admire your breeding skills. I’ve seen all different aquarists come to you for advice and to buy fish. I was wondering - do you have any insight into how to breed Kuhli Loaches, Siamese Algae Eaters, and Ropefish? I am interested in finding ways of breeding these commonly wild caught fish... Thank you so much in advance!
The angle this is recorded at feels like this is one of those undercover news segments where they expose someone. "And after making sure the owner isn't looking, Dean OPENS the bug bites."
The most fun part of this video was hearing dean say 'commercial break' and then I got ads. I am now firmly convinced this man knows something the rest of us don't.
Verrrry new to fish - just about a year. But I’m sooo glad/relieved to see you recommending the foods I’m already feeding!
Thanks for having Dean, as a guest, on your video! He is a wealth of useful information.
The most colorful betta I have ever seen.
Dean always has so many cool nuggets of info.
Always enjoy the videos with Dean!
Always love hearing from Dean
I'm one of those weirdos who has been in this hobby a while, but I have never kept a betta. I'd actually like to, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Vids featuring Dean are always a great watch!
The craziest Betta keeping system I've seen was with whiskey bottles in Thailand (in some youtube video). They had cut horizontal slits into the bottles at a certain height, and the bottles where packed on the floor. Then you could change the water with a water hose by spraying it over all the bottles. Of course, the bottles are a bit on the small side.
Always fun with Dean. Such a pretty betta he is going to breed!
I love the idea of using the Brine Shrimp Hatchery for a Betta!
Ya just gotta love Dean! Thanks for sharing! - Little Bobby
Very Cool Video Bob. Always great to see Dean. Thankyou.
Hmm, that would be an expensive Betta tank! All the rest of your into was great! Fun to see you hanging out with Dean...
Love the idea of using the brine shrimp hatchery as a beta tank.
love to hear Dean talk about Bettas
Fluval's trippin'! 🤣🤣🤣 hearing Dean say that was too funny
DEAN! A great replacement for the betta log is the black 2in PVC, it will float on the surface if you get the furniture grade.
I do not now, nor ever have owned a betta- But it's Bob and Dean, so I watched til the end😎 Thanks guys💕👍
Bob and Dean is a quite the duo!
Dean is one of my all time favorite people EVER ❤ 🤘🤘🐟🐟🐟
My betta loves Vibrabites! It’s his staple. He gets Bug Bites, frozen and live baby brine as well ( in a community tank).
I love the taste tests!
Bob and dean. Make great products viewing. Keep it up
I had not thought of feeding Vibra Bites, I will try it! I DO feed Micro Pellets, which are softer, and I think easier to digest. I worry so much about Bloat, and if the food is easy to "crush" then I feel it will be easier to digest. All of my Bettas are fed these.
Bob ate fish food??? What?!!! Jokes aside, the products mentioned in my opinion are important to breed bettas. Something I also add (it is not hardware, but I find this helps them spawn) is lots of floating plants, for two reasons: the floating plants cut the light down, and they help the bubble nests stay in one place and support all the eggs. Great video!
Dean is awesome 👍
Someday we'll gonna be successful in life 🤗
Hey Guys! Great video. I had a question??? So i see the brine shrimp for freshwater. I was thinking would there be any benefit or similar benefit in grinding up fresh caught mackerel and feeding it to the fish or fry???
That Kraken shirt is nice!!
Dean is the best
so..... just for betta lover, you can change the leaf with a banana leaf if you leave in a certain country if you cannot found cattapa leaf. and try to give the betta and fray with live food.
Anyway I could get that exact brine shrimp hatchery. Dean touched it might have rubbed off some of his magic:)
Ooh weeee! The betta police are gonna be after ya for that last one 😆
Wow, I just looked up the Brine shrimp blender, $45 +$17 shipping on eBay. How much are they at Corey's?
Im here for fish food taste testing, lol.
I’ll buy the open box brine shrimp hatchery! Lol
"It tastes like chicken" 😂😂 Dean's credibility as a master chef took a hit lol!! There should be a #Dean on all his videos.
That’s a beta video lol thanks guys
147th! Also the video we need is how to breed albino oscars.
Ok I’m gonna create a list 1. Hakiri betta gold 2. Fluval betta bug bites 3.
Makes me wanna start a betta sorority tank again 😭
Noooo… you really ate it 😆 That’s great. I thought you were gonna pull a Dean and fake eat it as well🙂
Dean. This was not the video I expected.
Eating the fish food was the funniest thing I've seen all week lmao also my male betta will not eat baby brine only grown brine.

Meanwhile mine will starve before he eats adult brine shrimp lol
None of my fish like vibra bites and I have 9 tanks
I thought mirrors were bad because they stress out the bettas.... also, isn’t 5 gallons a minimum tank size for a betta? That blender looks like maybe a half a gallon.
@incongruous4

Mirrors are good for a few mins a day and yeah the blender is tiny but I think he was saying to use it for temporary storage for breeders that have a ton of bettas..not really sure why that's a tip for the average person.
@Cgraseck

The mirror is small, so even if you leave it in the tank the Betta is only confronted with another Betta when he looks directly into the mirror. Of course, the smaller the Betta tank the more often he is apt to see himself. Betta tank size is actually a really broad topic. In the wild they spend a lot of time in very small areas but their habitat is usually part of an enormous volume of water. If you keep a betta in a small tank you have to spend a lot more time monitoring the water quality (or just changing water). For most people, it is far easier to maintain adequate water quality in a larger volume of water. The Ziss brine shrimp hatchery is way too expensive for keeping a Betta in. You could purchase a 10 gallon tank, top, sponge filter and air pump for roughly the same amount. Cheers, Chris
Wouldn't that mirror really stress out a beta?
@buddy5152
3 жыл бұрын
It would if you leave it on their tank for a long time, but doing for 5 -10 minutes would give it good exercise
Bio gold, shake just a little comes out? No, I get like...10 pellets. When you have one betta, doesn't work for me! I put it in a little jar instead. My guy loves these pellets. They float well, and they are a good size. The Extreme one is way too big
@pjp9383

Floating well and the right size - both very important! I have a couple of types of food, and the pellets that don't float well end up having to be fed to my other fish. And the pellets that are too big, I have to sort out to find the smallest ones to feed one of my bettas. 🙄
Hatchery is too small for a beta tank.

@Jay 71 yep pretty disappointing really. If we are going to keep fish for our entertainment we should at least give them an environment that is as close to natural as we can.

@@davidanderton2437 and it only held 2 litres 😔
Yes, bio gold is the best betta food because that's the only one my betta, Finn, will eat, he's very picky, he wouldn't even eat the sample food that came with his tank, but it's obvious to me this guy is doing this video for information only, and not for stating facts, no, a little does not come out, in fact the bio gold dispenser is flawed. When you try to get some of the food, a lot comes out, and their teeny tiny pellets, and when you try to put some back they get crunched, so I had to remove the inside of the dispenser, and now when too much comes out, I can easily put some back. They really should just be in a container with a lid, and not a container that does not just dispense a few at a time.
Have you stolen Dean from the co-op?
Sir?? I in the Philippines.. plss help me.. because i dont have betta fish.. plss give me sir thank you
You know thats a great idea for a betta tank but its 44 bucks. A little steep if your on a budget. A 10 gallon is cheaper.
@jordanbabcock9349

If you have a Petco near you it's the $1 per gallon sale right now so a 29 and a 40 gallon are cheaper than the brine shrimp hatchery!

Really bad idea for a betta tank, which should be a minimum of 5 gallons with filtration and a heater
Oh no sorry to be controversial but that’s too small a container for a Betta fish for my taste.
I love the taste tests!
