I agree with all who posted that this book is still relevant today. I would only add that the reader, David Barnes, is terrific.

The more we are attached to material desire to accumulated more wealth, fame and material comfort due to greed, jealousy, pride and envy, the more one will suffer. The more we cultivate saintly quality such as compassion, kindness, truthfulness, purity, righteousness and unconditional love, the NEARER we are towards the Kingsom of God.

The light starts within. Forget the outside world, speak to your neighbour, your children. It grows strong from there.

I love...reverently his mind, his heart and insightful Soul. He demonstrated an empathic spirit through eloquent delivery, anyone can understand. (Altho, each time I read War & Peace; I put it down about half-way, I do not know why. Adoration for me... is Anna Karenina) A Master of Language & A Peace Warrior ✌

Beautiful denunciation of war and murder in contrast with a loving caring humble higher power

Everything we learn and put into practice from great literatures CANNOT be lost. Transcendental/Spiritual consciousness carries forward to next life, a better birth. Material consciousness such as greed, jealousy, violence, cruelty takes the soul to take birth in a lower form of life. We human are given a freewill to move UP or go DOWN. We are not independent when death will come upon us, the higher authority decides. However we can change our destiny through the freewill given to us.

Send this as mandatory listening to Biden.

There's one thing I don't understand about his thought, how is there any such thing as stolen land, I suppose I've never understood that concept as in my mind the human race has a single point of origin meaning that no land is truly ours nor theirs as there is only one place which all of us have any claim to

@@billywalker21 , You are right, Billy. I can not *prove* it. However, a significant hint lies in the fact that humans, under certain circumstances, can override their instinctive nature by choosing to give up their animal body (not meaning suicide or escaping pain here) like in martyrdom.
