It took me a couple of days but I've finally been able to get through the series. Now I am beginning to understand why they asked Jesus, "who then can be saved?" Jesus said, "what is impossible with man is possible with God." Luke 18:26-27 May God richly bless you and your children for the work you have done and continue to do. All the glory be to God.

I couldn't get past it when I learned they hosted a spiritualist who came and they set up a sort of fair with fortune-telling booths and tarot cards with "Christian" icons and phrases on them. They even decorated like a fortune telling tent and did a whole event surrounding it. Crystal ball and everything. Later, they even put out a press realeade about it.... They said it wasn't factually their people but thay they supported their causes and they would not condemn what they were doing.

My heart is broken for the sbc. The Baptist Church in general is circling the drain. They are not taking any steps towards Biblical Literacy, in the ones I've been part of. Their is an epidemic of Biblical illiteracy in these Baptist Churches. I hate it, but most don't care and are not willing to put time into God's Word. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed (of Biblical illiteracy), rightly dividing the Word of Truth", 2 Timothy 2:15 says. I went to a small church of 50 people in the Chicago area that is part of the Evangelical Covenant denomination, but they are really NAR. The assistant pastor knew C Peter Wagner personally and considered him his spiritual father. He charged people to attend a class he taught at our church and it was NAR teaching he learned from Wagner Leadership Institute, including the 7 mountain mandate. Sadly nobody seemed to read their bibles and believed everything he taught. This NAR teaching is so rampant and can be hid behind other denominations in small churches.

Not only did the Bible warn us about what is happening today but even Mark Twain had some good insight into it when he said, it is easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled!

The bamming going on with Todd Bentley reminds me of kria's so many eastern mystic worshippers experience as an auto response as demonic spirits enter into them. He loses control of his speech like jerks and twitching with his bam. None of this church is even remotely biblical. They all manifest fruits of satanic worship and not of the Holy Spirit. 1John outlines true spirit of Jesus. You must read the whole chapter and don't stop at "testing the spirits". Almost every person stops at that verse but basically the whole of those few chapters puts testing spirits into context. Never cherry pick verses without knowing the full context of what's written or errors will occur.

This is what happens when people don't know the WORD. The Word of God has all the answers. And people like that should not be allowed on a stage and do this in the name of Jesus. This is strange Fire (Leviticus 10)

My understanding of the basics of the atonement was that I was a slave to sin and Jesus gave himself as a ransom for me. When someone pays a ransom, the person who was held hostage (or slave) is freed. In this case, instead of money for my ransom, Jesus gave Himself for me and took my place. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. That day on the cross, Jesus became my substitute in taking my punishment for me. My Heavenly Father poured out His wrath towards my sin onto His Son instead of onto me. Meaning I will never have to experience the punishment of my sins because Jesus bore the punishment on my behalf.

It was so important to her, that they do it three times, like in the movie. She got this wrong even compared to the movie, Gandalf did it once.

I'dv genuinely love more information on what you shared about Vineyard originally thinking the laughter movement was demonic. Do you have any video/audio/print sources for this? Would very much help when sharing my concerns with loved ones in the movement.

I, too, was in Vineyard. I was asked to leave the church back in 1992. One day, I'd asked The Lord to please tell me if I was being deceived. I loved Him so much, and didn't want to be sincere, yet sincerely deceived. I had just finished reading Dr. Walter Martins book, "The Kingdom of the Cults." 2 weeks later, the Pastor told me that he hated me and had felt this way for a long time. There's a book called, "The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse." To me, it reminds me of the power dynamic of Vineyard. *Take care, dearest one. I am with you guys. Yes there are some good songs by hillsong and bethel But with what i've seen is going on within both groups, Even changing religions. I refuse to listen to either or go to church where they play their songs In fact i'm looking for a church where I moved, It's very hard to find a church that isn't playing their music.

The church I went to always posted the "credentials" of the songs in the corner of the screen and you could see if it was bethel or what not. It's kind of a hard thing though, because there are many single artists that fall under Bethel that you won't know until you look it up. Maybe make it a practice to write down the songs you sing at church and then look them up after.

@@chelseamatchett Our church sings only the Psalms or hymns. It is the best way to worship according to the bible. I feel so much better than singing worldly songs based on worldly music. Bethel and Jesus Culture are just rock and roll bands.

For Bethel and New age to corrupt Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" is just a shame. J. R. R. Tolkien was a devout Catholic, but a firm believer who was friends with one of the greatest Christian minds; C. S. Lewis. I don't think that LOTR and Narnia are evil. I prefer Narnia over LOTR anyday, because of the accuracy of The Gospel in the text. I truly believe that C. S . Lewis was one of the most brilliant Christian minds to ever exist. I could be wrong, and I pray that God helps me discern what is right and wrong.

Did CS.lewis write the Lord of the rings before or after salvation? Anyone know?

Lewis did not write it, JRR Tolkien did. He wrote it from a Christian perspective where Gandalf is an angelic like character. It isn't intended as a glorification of magic.

Vineyard Movement started a lot of what is NAR today after the founders got kicked out of Calvary Chapel. It's so easy to get into the song without thinking about what the lyrics are saying or what the terms used mean to the author(s).

You guys are wrong about Todd Bentley. Look up pro-wrestler Bam Bam Bigelow. He was popular a couple of decades ago. It's not Flintstone/Bam Bam theology. It's Bam Bam Bentley theology. You'll get it once a see a pic of Bam Bam Bigelow. All Bentley is missing is the tats on the head. ;-)

And he’s always posting about how it changed his life but you rarely ever here him talk about Jesus or God.. it’s so strange. I sent him some material on it, but he won’t respond, they never do. No one cares about truth anymore 😕

@Layla Bartholomew We are already in the vials in Chapter 16,17 and 18. The Revelation is the prophetic history of the church and has been happening from the beginning after Jesus ascended. This is the Historic interpretation which says that Revelation has been being fulfilled throughout history....2000years. For instance, the seals have been opened and the trumpets blown and we are now in the 7th Trumpet which contains the vials. [bowls]

The Lord of the Rings is a story. Like a fairy story. Just a fantasy. Gandalf is a character not representative of the supernatural as it’s understood by the new age standards. Bethel have just used it to create their own fantasy.
