Don't quote me on this but this may have beenBeth's first performance since getting clean and getting out of rehab and she picked the Paradiso in Amsterdam cuz the Dutch crowds had always been very good to her and she seems to have a special connection with them and she wanted to show her appreciation for their support. Apparently so many people bought tickets that they had to move it to a bigger hall and allow free seating, meaning people sitting just below the stage on their butts. Imagine that woman 18-20 years later tells her friends and kids that the great Beth Hart serenaded her while practically sitting in her lap. wow!

I love hearing new people listen to Beth for the first time, and this song in particular is a great one to introduce yourself to her. This entire concert is amazing. She does a variety of styles at this concert, including rock, hard rock, and blues. You would most likely like "Immortal", "I Don't Need No Doctor", "Whole Lotta Love (cover)", "Broken & Ugloy", "Get Your Shit Together", "Mama", "Leave the Light On" all from Live at Paradiso. You really should hear more. She writes all her own songs, (except she does like everyone do a few covers). Beth is my favorite female singer, hands down. I saw her live in Ohio about 6 months ago and it was flawless. while she has mellowed a bit over the years, her voice has only gotten better with age. They were booked in a much smaller venue, but ticket sales in the Netherlands were so good they were put in larger Paradiso Amsterdam , much to the delight of the band. At that time BH was popular mainly in The Netherlands and New Zealand, but now she is pretty well-known all over . Check out her "I'd rather go blind"with Joe Bonamassa, also in Amsterdam...genius.

The girl was NOT a friend nor was it her birthday. She was a shy 17 year old at the time, there with her family (her mother is the blond taking photos), not her first BH concert, and just a random center of focus for Beth. All other accounts of interaction this are pure internet gossip and just stories people made up..

In this same show she's does a cover of Steve Marriott's (Humble Pie) I Don't Need No Doctor that is incredible

You WILL love all her performances. She is the best singer/performer out there. Her very different songs at the piano will let you know it's not just a voice wrapped in a beautiful soul, but a supreme talent that must be treasured. Love her to bits. Peace and Love. 🥰

Yes, Beth is still going at it, in my opinion, better then ever. Her voice has matured and has even greater range now. She just finished a tour in Germany, made a Led Zeppelin cover/tribute album. She is best live, this whole concert is phenomenal, my favorite is "broken and ugly" where she totally rocks out. Any live concert video from here is truly worth the rabbit hole. Not only a great voice, an accomplished musician, "momma" and "baddest blues" show her piano talents and she is also great on guitar and bass as one of my personal favorites, "spiders in my bed" shows. Great talent and down to earth personality makes her my favorite touring musician right now.

She lives in her music like few other artists. if you want more Blues rock and even a bit of bluegrass then Samantha Fish is another great singer / guitarist keeping the art alive with her own music as well as covering the classics. She was already clean at that time. There is a documentary from the dutch tv. At that time she was only famous in New Zealand and the Netherlands.

@@willarth9186 Ok, I take it this must be a reference to an example of quintessential boredom (I had to look Drachinifel up)...and thus an indicator of how likely you are to further investigate your initial impressions and assumptions. There is not a living soul on Earth who would consider Beth Hart boring (except you?). This might be amusing if there were any credibility to your initial assessment: it cannot be reduced to screaming, although not being your cup of tea cannot be denied. Doing nothing is a very effective way to reinforce your beliefs and ensure a lack of growth. Prove me wrong and watch "Caught Out..." or "I'd Rather..." 🤔 (Though, I appreciate the Drachinifel reference).
