@@carnagefpv8256 basicaly ive found the almost higher value that should work on almost amy stuff but you can have higher with crazy esc/ f1 fc Or revolt on 5v with bridge to make it noise free

Been eyeballing a dronecoproductions slammed squirt bnf lately since the individual parts have been a pita to hunt down, and I’ve been reluctant due to it running emuflight since I have no experience with it. Stick feel is big for cinewhooping so I’m definitely going to pull the trigger after watching you fly and react to it. 🎉

The Dynamic Rates in Emuflight will drastically change stick feel! From what I understand, these Dynamic Rates are irrelevant to the PID tune, so basically, you can change the entire feel of your quad with these Dynamic Rates without messing with the PID tune to do so! I've been flying Emuflight since it's inception, and love it!

I love it when you get risky and just do random trics. Great video man, so informative... deffinately learnt something new. Great that there are 3 options of firmware, to try out 👍 I use beta and emu, mostly betaflight, until emuflight official release. I would gladly pay $15 for any flightcontoller sofware licence. It is the least you can do to support development aso.

Cool - inspired me to try em. EMUF worked a treat. Installed just fine. And I even flew it on a TinyHawk S. The FlightOne was a nightmare. I got the license I ordered on Sat on Mon - and that didn't improve things much. FlightOne bricked the same FC I later loaded successfully, and flew, with EMUF0.3.4. So - I'm not gonna play with FlightOne anymore. EF looks a lot like BF - but hosts a simpler OSD, also a DJI compatible OSD - which I haven't hooked up to DJI yet though - and some interesting PID presets. One of which worked nicely in my THS.

JB, It would be awesome if you did a review/breakdown of F1 H7 and especially all the filters and what they do/how they feel. I know you normally don’t fly F1, but that would be very informative. I can’t find much on the filters and what exactly they do/handle/resolve.

Now how can we get them all on a switch?? 😆

Almost perfect xd. You could do 2 more flights, with betaflight clean reflash and try one of the emu presets (closest one to actual hardware).

Hey, you got your top plate! noice! i've really been loving my roma. its so powerful I use the Gemfan got th 4s version 5055 3 blade. and i followed your pid tuning video and rate setting video. I have a nice flat spot on all my quads. Each software flies so well, does it even matter?

You looked smoother on Emu, I've never tried it but after this I may.

I changed from Beta to Emuflight some months ago because it flies great on both my 5" and 3" quad without tuning AND supports the great project mockingbird stuff on my whoops. And never missed Betaflight. I kinda felt like "oh i can tell by the sound and video that this is BF and this is EF..." but i guess this is only placebo. When watching unbiased there were only one or two scenes per firmware that objecitvely showed differences like propwash where the other ones did not. But there is no "better". Like Pavel said as well: Just try it out (INav) and see what suits you. A friend is pushing me towars FalcoX - which i will try as well. Just keep open minded i guess. The different Firmwares are just different approaches to the same problem (moving that damn quad around in space). Thanks for the comparison!! :)

Again. Great video.... YET... The proverbial “we” never holds beta to the same standards! So I suggest you do a hover test on that same quad with STOCK pids on betaflight. I’ll wait 😆🤙

@@Stygmah there are a bunch of set pilots presets for PIDs and rates. So try each one out and see which one you like the most. You can even tweak them if you want a better feel. Also I love the auto turtle mode. It knows when your upsidedown and the next time you arm just blip the throttle and you'll be right side up. It's pretty kool.

hey need help from bangladesh. i builded a Succexe F4 fc and esc all is ok but my 3no motor is spining little bit fast..example when i pluged it on my beta flight and go on motors tab and master then 1 2 & 4 motor sping like 1055 but 3 is spinning 1090....whats the reason/ NOTE:- i calibrated motors, gyros and also the motor direction wiring all is fine

Did you ever modify the gyro filter settings on the Diatone Roma quads from 0.9?

The biggest reason why someone would be interested in this video is to find out how good does one firmware fly in comparison to the other when not tuned at all and running all stock , and for FalcoX the biggest thing lots of YTber pilots have said that FL1 flies awesome until crashed and then gives pain so another point to test would be how good do these firmwares handle slight issues in the drone and still prevent enough propwash oscillation and all those low , high and mid throttle oscillations.

I have a strange question for you. I have an Arris C250 V2 with an F4 flight controller (Betaflight) (I know, not the best quad, but I didn't want to destroy something more expensive while learning this kind of flying). I also have 3 kids that live to fly all of my drones but I have had to tell them no on this one for obvious reasons. My question is, is there a way that I can add a barometer/compass/gps to the Arris and enable it in Betaflight and use a spare switch on the radio to enable/disable that function so that my I can let my heathens enjoy it with me? Also, if you know a great set of rates and Pids for it I would love to know lol. Thanks!!

additionally i think Emu or Beta is also depends on the Flightcontroller, as example i have a Roma F5 with iFLight FC and Motors and a "original F5 with Mamba FC and motors) the Mamba version does fly so much better on EmuFLight while the Flight version does handle better on Betaflight. (not sure what/why that is)

What Betaflight version is the stock Diatone? Does it use RPM filtering? I think you should have used default Betaflight PIDs to make a better comparison.

Hi Joshua, quick question......how much difference does a frame have on flight characteristics? I have a Mark 4(mamba405v2 xing e2306/2450kv), Wizardx220 (mamba405v2 xing e2306/2450kv), and a Chameleon Ti (mamba v1 t-motor f60proii) Out of the three, the Chameleon flies the best in regards to handling and 'goes where I put it' Is this frame, motors, or FC/tune? All three have the exact same rates and sliders/pids. I'd like all to fly like the Chameleon, even tho they fly really well, something gives the Chameleon the edge. Is it the T-Motors?

Is FalcoX/Flight one or Emu flight dji compatible, especially where you cannot run the full betaflight osd menu on dji fpv goggles, i assume this is not possible to do with flight one or emu flight?.. Still amazing that another contender has entered the ring when it comes to flight software, especially where i seem to have some electrical noise that is throwing me through the ringer to figure out. Honestly wish i got into the hobby earlier, as I'm still trying to learn every nook and cranny of the build side of the hobby, and the software that magically runs the hardware of the 2 builds Ive managed to keep going so far. But the info that you provide has been priceless when learning about this hobby, and I wouldn't be as far along as I am without you ( J.B.) and Itsblunty's aid. So thank you, both of you!.

Yes Emu works with DJI, even shows OSD warnings.

Just trying Emu flight and for my feeling it has a nicer stick feeling than BF

Tascam DR-10L, with a parametric EQ applied in Premiere.

Do the OSD's look different across the firmwares? I've only tried beta & emuflight, does FalcoX look different in goggles?

yeah theres less customization, and if you're using dji it doesnt support the full osd setup JB was talking about, you do need to use a laptop or an android app with an otg cable

it would be nice to see default betaflite tune for comparison.

the power of FalcoX in my eyes are in the presets.. almost anyone can get a 99% tuned quad SUPER LOCKED without being an aerospace engineer, you'd have to be crazy to fly it on default tune 😅

running presets surely is not better than just turning the pids up as you still have to be wary of burning your motors.

Agree! I started using BF3.5 or something and it was very overwhelming to tuning and I didn’t have time to do it. So once I tested FalcoX, all problems was solved!! I will give a shot to test BF and Emu eventually, but FalcoX is working 100%

But have you seen how many presets Emuflight has?? It has a few dozen different presets for all different size quads. Hands down Emuflight is the best in every way. Give it a try!

I like Betaflight 3.5 even on my Revolt OSD.

If you like BF 3.5.x you will Love Emuflight. It's a fork of 3.5.7 with Imuf filters. Best of both worlds.

Although FL1 will tell you that COVID is the reason for their current supply issues...as Joshua mentioned...they are out of stock a lot...and long before COVID. I love the idea behind FL1 and once had the entire fleet running their FCs , but honestly just need a company that actually has product to sell. I'm building a KISS quad now...if it goes well, I may stick with it until FL1 develops a track record of actually executing well.

Great video, EmuFlight looks nice! Not to go too far off subject, but have you tried or heard anything good/bad about dRonin? I got a couple BrainFpv Radix on sale, and I just saw you can use BF or dRonin, and I've been reading about it, with a lot of positive feedback from it's "auto-tune" feature. I got my start back in the day on Libre Pilot, which like dRonin is a fork of OpenPilot, so I'm semi familiar with the type of layout. Wondering if it's worth downloading and trying out. Thanks!

Wish Emuflight would have the unified target configuration that Betaflight uses. Now my board is not supported and porting the target is not easy without unified target configuration :(

He did 😅 very simple. There are two versions of accest: pre 2.X.X and the newer locked to original frsky recievers 2.X.X. The Jumper T-lite does both if you get the one that has frsky and multiprotocol. Options are, to get a new reciever/radio, or flash the reciever with older firmware, that matches your current radio, so you are still able to use D8, which is what I did. You could also just ditch all that and get TBS. I know it is a bitch, especially if you have many models... I use the older version, because of that reason, until I feel like it is time to upgrade. Just got the Jumper T-lite, which is cheap, and not a pro radio, but still an ok choice. My X9D is still going strong though, with the older firmware. I have one reciever, which is a dud.... it doesn't work, no matter what firmware I flash, no idea why either..... could just be a bad reciever, broken from production or component error, which happens sometimes.

So many options of firmware and hardware that it gets kinda confusing. Especially as things continue to evolve or become obsolete ( ArduPilot Pixhawk Px4 Multiwii->Baseflight->Cleanflight->Betaflight / EmuFlight / iNav RaceFlight One -> FlightOne (FalcoX) MissionPlanner -> QGroundControl OpenPilot->Librepilot , DRonin MavLink ) But Is there any one set of hardware that could run both both Ardupilot / Pixhawk (PX4) and Betaflight / EmuFlight / iNav? From what I can tell there are 2 classes of hardware, the larger Pixhawk boxes, and the small-square-stacks (STM32F/H7 like the Speedybee F7V3, Mateksys H743, Kakute H7 V2).. so what setup would allow trying several firmware projects? For example, I understand Betaflight is popular among FPV racing, and ArduPilot and iNav for autonomous/waypoints, however I'm interested in experimenting FPV and autonomous flying on a small drone with GPS (GNSS ublox M10). Battery-life and price are less critical. And how does a custom DIY build with any of the above compare to the performance of commercial offerings.. Eachine E520S , Skydio2, Mavic Air 2S , or Yuneec Mantis Q?

I'm not super invested in any given firmware. But I'll go ahead and say that I'm going to disagree strongly with Joshua on one thing: the Roma F5 is one of the worst all around frames I've built. I've yet to have a flight on it where something didn't break catastrophically. In particular, it chews up battery leads if routed up the side (as suggested by the injected molded cable guide). I wanted to like it. Buy a Source One and have way less headache, IMO.

Emuflight…if you like not flying like a robot. LOL. Some of the dynamic rate stuff in Emu and DAS, kind of get you into the FalcoX feel, but there is a unique and good stick feel on FalcoX. That being said only Emu has advanced Angle mode stuff, so that’s my favorite

I feel your three packs a day really payed off. Nice to just watch you fly. Earlier test flights looked much more mechanical. Oh, and I will stay on Betaflight, just personal preference.
