Hey Jared Love the videos, very informative. With regards to using the needle nose pliers to remove the oil filter. I always had a beggar of a time and could never do it. I think my filters have a smoother inner edge. So what I do is just use a small strong magnet and it pulls it out no problem. Just a little tip that may help yourself or some of your viewers that had the same issues when removing the oil filter. 👍

I remove the fill caps before draining and once oil has mostly drained out I tip the bike back and forth a few times to get the rest of the oil out.

Great Tips! I certainly rock the bike back and forth and I suppose my limited filming experience allowed me to forget to show that! It is important to at least hold the bike completely vertical as more oil will come out. Enjoy the ride, Jared

Thank you very much for this video, this is very helpful. Forgive me if I'm being daft but I'm not seeing the part numbers in the description. In particular, I'm having trouble finding the o-rings. I was able to read one of them off the package in your video but can't identify the others.

sure torqueing with dyno is best way to over torque and kill threads and bolts as torque value is given for dry , and there is always oil on bolt and threads. Best way to learn how to extract bolts :) :) :) :)

Something I found interesting about the oil changes and discrepancy's between US/Italy service/owners manuals. There is conflicting information regarding what oil is recommended for a 500 RR-S. On the Beta USA website under "Support", I found the 2021 500 RR-S Service Manual and Owners Manual. -The Service Manual states Liqui Moly racing Synth 10W50 for both Gear/Clutch and Engine. (page 169) -The Owners Manual states Motul 7100 10W40 for Engine, and Motul Transoil 10W40 for Gear and Clutch. (page 15) I contacted Beta about this, and they responded. One reason for the discrepancy is due to one being the Italian version, and the other the USA. Beta USA has a partnership with Motul, and recommends this brand in the US. Also, the Beta service rep informed me that if I wanted to use the same oil for both the Gear/Clutch and Engine (like the Italy version suggests), it's totally fine to do so. He recommended the Motul 7100 10W40 or Motul 300 V 10/40 for both sides. I've been using Motul 7100 10W40 in both sides of my bike, with great results.

I've just done my first oil change with the Motul 7100 in both sides as well. The manual I got in Australia for a 2022 model recommends LIQUI MOLY RACING SYNTH 10W50 for both sides. I might try different oil in the gearbox later to see how it goes as the ability to run different oils is an advantage to the split design.

@@laxmoto3119 I appreciate the response! I've done about 4-5 oil changes now, always using Motul 7100. Haven't had any issues. I'd be interested to hear if you change your gearbox oil and how that works out for you.

Good Morning! I will be doing an updated oil change video for the newer 2023 bikes. The new video won't be about the brand of oil as I will still be using Motul oils. Beta is recommending the LiquiMoly as they are the title sponsor for the Factory Beta race team. The updated video will be discussing the proper filling process for the engine side. Stay tuned for that video as I get time on our shop build 390 Race Edition.

I "carelessly" put more than 750ml of oil so I have to drain some back. Does the side glass window gives you any indication of proper amount and where would the oil have to be? Any other ways I could try to have the proper amount of oil without draining it all and putting it back in?

Good Afternoon, thanks for checking out our video! I have a few other videos on the channel that might interest you. One is a video that I remap a bike using the Beta tool, the race models can be remapped to work with the FMF exhaust. The second video is me riding that bike a few months ago down south and you can hear how good that bike sounds with the silencer, and yes I really enjoy adding the FMF to our bikes. It wakes them up a bit and gives them a good tone. Thanks for watching, Jared

Hey, I would recommend changing the oil a bit sooner than that, typically we are every 4 or 5 races or 20 hours of trail riding. Some guys do it even sooner after a total mud race. Just depends on the riding. Thanks, Jared

Thanks for watching! In the past Maxima was a brand we ran and had good luck with. Beta is also now pushing the Liqui Moly brand here in the US, I'm sure a local motorcycle shop in other counties should know what to use while visiting there, I don't have any experience riding anywhere else but here in the states. Enjoy, Jared

Sandviper1 The answer is yes, you can use the engine oil on both. It’s slightly more expensive that way as the engine oil costs more. This was the advice given to me by my dealer who sold me 10w50 for my new bike here in Australia.
