Bet You Thought This Would Never Happen
Bet you thought would this never happen...today I'm repairing the flat tire on the eggmobile! 'Tis the season for catching up on maintenance and repair projects, as well as our usual jobs with the animals. While I'm doing the work, I'll talk a little about cattle fly control and why "one size fits all" farming solutions often don't work.
Note:
-We do not offer farm tours or accept visitors
-We do not sell from the farm
-We do not ship our farm's products
-We do not sell live animals

The chickens always have something to say, but it's always fowl language.

why would you change that tire? Those are premium anti-theft tires!
I just wanted to say thank you for being so kind. We (my husband, grandson and I) drove out from Waterford, NY (the oldest continuously incorporated village in the US) and were at the farmers market in Ithaca this past Saturday. My grandson has Williams Snydrome and you were very kind to him and he was very excited to meet you. He also has since asked if you remembered to say “Hi” to your son, Henry from him, his name is Camden.

Hi Debra, it was great to meet you! Henry says hi back to Camden!
I have a great life. But I always feel better AFTER I watch you and the (human and animal) family on the Farm than BEFORE I watch. Thanks so much.
A 15 minute project is only 1 broken bolt away from an 8 hour ORDEAL! Been there before, studs are fun...! Enjoying your videos!
"Rotate the tires on the chicken mobile every 3000 miles." One of your best jokes.

Wait that was a joke? Darn I rotated my tires on my chicken mobile 4 times because it’s been 12,000 miles since I last rotated them. I’m all caught up now.
Can't believe someone would dislike Pete's video's!
Holy cow, you did it, you changed that tire, today was a good day👍👌😀
My dad and I had free range Muscovy ducks on our dairy farm. The ducks loved being near the manure piles to eat flies as they hatched! We saw a significant drop in flies when we had ducks.
I’m not OCD but I did find myself breathing a sigh of relief at the tire fix- lol- I can appreciate the stubbornness and leaving the vines grow…. Gotta be a bit “non compliant” at times 😉
Memories ! My Dad has been gone a long time but glad to see that traditions still live on ! Thanks for the laugh ! Blessings !!!
OH HAPPY DAY !!! No more watching that poor tire getting tortured ever again. Oh thank you, thank you, thank you, Pete !!!!
I like the bush/vine that’s taking over your shop.
I am impressed. So few people today know how to fix things. And those that do that's all they do. They know nothing about the difference between soil and dirt much less anything about raising farm animals. Except for the fact that my father didn't own a tractor, he farmed with horses, your videos remind me of my childhood. And it wasn't far from your farm.what a beautiful place to live a beautiful life.
Don't blame you about trying to find a more natural way to help with the flies. Wow your pigs are getting big!!!! They look good!!!
I could taste that pear, just by the sound. On the mountain, we had pear trees along the dirt road, and an old apple orchard that produced apples as big as two fists together. I remember the flavor of both fruits in the hot late August sun. Also, the side hill was covered in wild strawberries and thyme, and those aromas are burned into my sense memory.
I applaud your efforts to combat flies without using insecticides. You truly are a top example of how to ethically run a farm and I envy the connection you have with your land. Hope you have luck with your fly management! Excited for more tractor videos through the winter!

Does anyone else grow peppermint to distract flies? Not sure if it works but it smells like it does

@@fion1flatout I buy cheap peppermint mouthwash and put it in a spray bottle and spray that around where I’m sitting. Keeps skeeters away. I bet it works for fly’s too.
Love the videos Pete! I am living my old life vicariously through you. THANK YOU!
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 68 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 ❤️ 🎀 ❤️
I love the old tractors and equipment you operate. When I was a kid on the farm and our main tractor was Farmall International. We did have a Minneapolis Moline, which was the big plow tractor. (4 bottom plow) and back then that was big. But now a day all you see is the big modern tractors that cost upwards of 500K. You maintain them and they'll last forever.
You are such a doofus but that’s the reason we love you , you just make my day Pete thank you
That's so funny how the cows know exactly what you're doing...and they start munching a few steps into the "new" grass! Love your videos.

How to Build a Shipping Container House we will go over how to move shipping containers with a crane and place them onto the concrete foundation. I will show how I cut openings for doors and windows in the shipping containers and then welded in different types of
Always enjoy your videos Pete! I get such peace and life from hanging out with you on the farm. Thank you! Have a great day yourself!
I like the fly paper idea for pest control. Also this is a issue with a lot of older machines that don't do much work and sit in damp climate: engine oil get's spoiled really fast. Have witnessed it myself. Not every solution works for everyone that I learned the hardway in life.
This man is like the farmer version of Mr. Rogers. Love this channel
OMG, the tire tread are going the wrong way on the new tire.
Kind of your own bat cave entrance through the vines. 🙂
You always have me laughing. I too like the vines by the door.
I love the sound of the old red tractor 🚜🚜🐷🐮🐔🐥🐣
Yay!!! Kudos for wearing an Oregon Ducks shirt!!! My family are big supporters of the Ducks. Go DUCKS!
You bring back so many childhood memories thanks
The greasers for the tractor brought back memories. There was a shed near our house when I was a kid where they worked on equipment, and 60 years ago there were no doors much less locks. The greasers fascinated me, but I didn’t see them in action. My dad was the cow man, and we were forbidden from that shed! Yeah, right. Where did we go to work on our bikes? Thanks for the memories.
You make everything you do look easy.
I caught myself accidentally making up a dad joke today, Pete! I had some errands to run, but I told myself, "Just a few episodes of just a few acres, first" ... 🤣
Thanks Pete, it was great to watch someone else struggling with a job which is way more awkward than it 'should' be
I love seeing how you run the farm.
"save that tube, I think it can be patched!" LOL I am so happy I stumbled onto your channel. All the best to you and your family Pete, and thanks for the grins.
It inspires me to see how joyfully and skillfully you approach those farm chores that some of us older, lazier folks would not cherish. I hope you kept the warranty papers on the tire. Maybe they will reimburse you for your time also :)
Thank you so much ^_^ taking a break from homeschooling my kids, gonna go back after this, and this really made me smile :)
Thank you so much for the tractor ride. I enjoyed it so much.
I absolutely LOVE that you don't like using insecticides. LOVE that you're going to try fly paper and garlic. The world would be such a better place if more farmers had this mindset. Looking forward to your next video's!
Those little jobs never seem to go away. You just replace one with a different one every time. 8-)
Well my dad 90 yrs old enjoyed your video, working on the 🚜, here could relate to all the work you were doing. Thank you for bring a light on for him. God bless you and all your animals.
That is pretty much daily occurrence around here. Tires are the bane of my existence!
Hi 🙋♂️ Pete, another one of your homespun videos. Always informative, just love ❤️ them. Keep them coming and I will keep on enjoying them. Thanks 🙏.
I’ve been dealing with crankcase moisture on my new-to-me H. Previous owner restored it and used it as a parade tractor solely. Worked it in front of a brush hog and changed the oil twice after an hour of run time each, really seemed to help. Oil pressure isn’t quite where I’d like to see it so I may be following suit with main bearings and oil pump rebuild.
When I first saw those trees and Vines and bushes next to your door I thought I know I like this guy that's really cool
I love the way that whenever you move cows onto new grass the first thing they do is check out the extreme edges of the new range then try to graze the grass in the other side of the new boundary.
That tire has got thousands of miles of field work left! 🤪🤪😂😂
When you drive that tractor down the road, I think of my grandfather who loved his tractors too.
It was my great pleasure meeting you at the Farmer's Market this past Saturday. And thanks for understanding my little problem. We've traveled back home to Rhode Island.
That was close buddy you almost got kicked by that cow thanks for sharing buddy stay safe and god bless
Love that ol tractor, reminds me of my grampa Hibler and his first tractor. Spray your cows with Avon's Skin So Soft. I used it on my Arabian horse. He didn't like sprays so I just used a rag and smeared it on his face and back, ears and legs. It works.
Love your Sarcasm about the Tire. I am guessing to put off that tire change just to bug the Tire Trolls. Then again it's good to have help with comments to help the KZread Algorithms.
Pete, thanks for sharing your life on the farm!
Small problem for a good mecanic with proper tools! Greetings from Sweden!
Thanks Pete!
Always enjoy your videos. I think it's because they always trigger another memory.
Thanks Pete
Love that super C. simple, handy, and old! Just like me!
Love watching your videos! Your jokes make me laugh and your content brings me back to my growing up years. My Dad had a Super A which has since become a family heirloom. Love that you show how to farm with older equipment. Thanks from Southeastern Manitoba, Canada.
You always inspire me Pete
Thanks for another great video!
Glad to see we aren't the only ones that still change our own tires/rims. Love the vines, so my OCD is good today Pete. LOL : ) Like you, I am starting to play catch up on "projects" around the farm, like finishing the restoration of the old 2-hole outhouse.. I do miss the "Run, Run" Run" with the pigs. Love the videos. Keep them coming. Dave N.
It was nice of those chickens to partially dismount that tire for you!
Just catching up on some of your older videos. You remind me so much of my husband. So patient even when things don’t work out as easily as planned. Love your channel!
The cows seemed quieter than usual today, I love watching them getting turned out onto fresh pasture! Thanks again Pete for taking us along for another day on your beautiful farm!!!
Pete would be a good public speaker love the channel
Thanks for your videos and all the excellent effort you put into your farm, family, and your way of life/living!
Thank you Pete for sharing another video with us. Thanks for keeping things natural. Your pigs look nice and healthy. As do all of your livestock.
This was one of my favorite videos in a long time! As always we don't always agree on everything but I love how sensible you are in "not everything works for everyone". I never miss an episode and as always a huge fan!
Great video, making light of chores and fun commentary! We always enjoy finding new video in morning (WA state)👍👍👍. Thank you for also sharing the simple jobs of serving the Farmalls💯
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🙏🏻 Enjoyed! A farmers work is never done👍 and you have to be a jack of all trades!
I did enjoy your video Pete. Thanks for your regular contributions.
We have been using garlic salt and it does an amazing job.
Your grass looks so luscious; feels like I want to chomp it myself.
When I was younger my dad had both the Super C and the H Farmall tractors. I always enjoy your videos, not seen a bad one, so thanks for them and thanks for the memories. See you later and have a Great Day and a Great Week!
thanks
Pete, As a fly deterrent, have you thought about using (spraying) an apple cider solution that has a little dish soap with basil, rosemary, and peppermint oils on the cows? Doesn't kill the flies but does keep them away.
That was another great day on the farm, all sorts of projects getting done. It looked like beautiful day there, definitely jealous.
Love the video , laughed and laughed about the tire on the egg mobile. Lol!
That is such a easy way to get the right amount of oil
Yay for the ASU Sun Devils shirt! Woohoo to my alma mater!
Better watch out for those snakes.Good afternoon Pete.
Your videos always leave me feeling happy even if I’m having a bad day. You have a calming effect..keep up the videos..
Job well done with a smile
I got such joy from watching you change that tire. I just wondered if you are training a new mechanic to take over the work on the tractors when you are no longer able to??? Now I am waiting on the next move of the hen house....as it glides across the field.
your videos are very high quality thank you
I always appreciate your videos, always interesting. Thanks
Hello Pete, I like you interaction with the animals....and making the chores fun! That's the best way! Now making chores fun it is kind of one size fits all😉😉😋. Happy Tuesday! 🤗🤗
I finally get to see my shirt on your videos! Hope you like it. Greetings from Nevada.
You’re really good at what you do, Pete.
Great video don’t change anything your doing on videos they are great.
Great stuff Pete👍👍👍👍
Reminds me of my young years growing up on the farm.
Good show changing that tire
