Now it`s 100x worth when in first OVP xD

Pegasus Starter was my very first deck. my dad bought it for me. but back then, i never knew it would become as expensive and as an antique as it is today.

I miss the old yuigoh. I remember being able to win locals with a thrown together Earth deck that focused on Muka Muka and Guardian Sphinx. Back then everyone had decks that they created themselves. Those were simpler times.

Sandor "The Hound" Clegane I mean, looking at the starter deck I'm remembering having used basically 70% of such a starter deck for quite some time after I started (and just add better monsters and some great spells/traps to it continuously - it was like "your own" deck which was never changed but just improved; not like "jimmy's meta-breaker field spell lifepoint summon lock", but everyone was having cool individual decks). Really high quality starters and great value-cost-relation, too! Also most decks used to be simple "beatdown" decks like in the anime with some nice but basic synergies you could just build yourself - good times.

@@TomJacobW I can say with some embarrassment that I never once built a 100% original deck from scratch. The deck I have now is one I have been adding to and changing around over the years, dating back to freakin 2003 when I bought the Yugi starter deck. Of course, my deckas it currently is today looks almost nothing like it was back then, with like... 95% of the cards being different. I don't play the game anymore, though I still occasionally buy decks to collect. I look back at all those years when I added and took cards out of what I considered my "main" deck with fondness. In a way, it grew up with me.

Pegasus was the best Starter Deck to begin.

2001 - "OMG IM NOT SURE I CAN WITHSTAND 1500 ATK POINTS"2017 - "Exodia is shit. I can easily block it with my continuous trap card which allows me to roll a dice every move which determines the amount of cards I draw, immediately allowing me to activate my field spell, blocking my opponents effects which allows me to activate a counter trap destroying all your monsters.

Obi-Wan Kenobi ik for a long time like heavy storm destroys all spells and traps i thot magic card are unaffected. but now ik magic and spells are the same

I remember this deck. Remember the day I got it and Joey too. Loved these decks.

I love how much enthusiasm you put into reading each card name, haha

I have both the Pegasus and Joey starter decks in first edition. There's a store where I live in B.C., Canada, and it has like about 5 separate new Joey/Pegasus starter decks in first edition, and there only going for like $10 each. I'm thinking about buying them all and selling them on EBAY, but we'll see.

My friend got a pre-release copy of this when I was a kid. I still use the box for my cards to this day! (Also the sleeves but they're pretty worn) Back then I was too bad at yugioh to really take advantage of the deck though and I found the toon monster concepts too complicated for my 6 year old self.

I know this is almost exactly 12 years old now but thank you for posting it. I still own this box but have since lost a ton of the cards (including Relinquished and the super rare trap which I forgot ever existed because it's been so long since I've seen it). So it was nice watching this knowing 10 year old me once opened this exact set two decades ago. Graceful Charity has thankfully survived, as has the box all this stuff came in. Most of the sleeves I still have, though my basement flooded a few years ago and the sleeves did an amazing job keeping the cards that were inside them from getting destroyed, though some of the sleeves have definitely seen better days :(

just got my pegasus starter deck form ebay for 50$ or so. worth it for classic cards!

Jenivera I got Joey and Pegasus deck for 50dollRs but Spanish section but it's my first language.

I say monster reborn is the best card because it can bring back one monster from any graveyard like say you want to use your oppents blue eyes white dragon just use a monster reborn and bring it back from the graveyard and use it aginst them or to just make them angry

So glad you did a video of this. My mom passed back in February of this year. When this box came out she got it for me along with other cards or something at the time. All I knew was I had to pay her back and all the money went into this box. Earlier today I found this box hidden under her bed with all the money still in it. 😂

Right in the childhood. I had all the starter decks when I was a kid. Didn't know they had deluxe editions

I just won an auction for it on ebay for 30 bucks :)

This was the first Yu-Gi-Oh deck that I ever got, the second was Starter Deck Joey and I still have both of them.

I remember getting the Joey Starter deck for my Birthday 10 years ago. That's so awesome that you're opening old packs.

its funny cuz i knew what was inside of the deck before he even opened but i still love to see that old school yugioh!:D

I still have my starter deck joey deluxe with all the cards still in the case it came in. I use Thule box to hold my commons and holos

Personally, if I bought that rare deluxe box then I would let it remain sealed and keep as a collection cause opening eh loses its value, that's just me though.

The Starter Deck Pegasus was my first starter deck and that's what got me into Yu-Gi-Oh. oh such memories!! XD

I had that deck, but I've never seen those deluxe edition boxes before... man, that would have been awesome, my Dark Magician and Seariyu wouldn't be in such bad condition nowadays if I had card protectors back then :P

I lol'ed alot at this deck cause theres so many cards that are either overpowered today or are still tournament staples.
