Do you need any software for the built in mic noise reduction? I ask you this since my work PC is restricted for installing new software.

The microphone has built in noise reduction so it will help reduce certain ambient noise, but if you're going to have a bunch of people talking around you or if you're in louder workspaces those noises will probably get picked up. The only way to further improve the microphone noise cancellation is with software like neep.com which would require a download on your PC that would most likely have to go through a process to be approved from your company.

Not currently. To mute you'd press the physical mute button at the end of the microphone.
