Best way to fine tune GrandMA3 Phaser

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this GrandMA3 Tutorial I will try to explain how you can create GrandMA3 phaser effect, and how you can manipulate them after you have stored then in a cue or in a GrandMA3 preset.
This video is a follow up on the last upload, where we went thru the GrandMA3 Phaser effects.
I will also go thru how you can attach a GrandMA3 speed master to the sequence where you have stored your phaser effect, and how you can make a "Learn speed" button.
So, I hope you will enjoy this GrandMA3 beginner tutorial. 😊
Its not hard to learn GrandMA3 you just need to get started, and once you start to have a grasp of everything, you will appreciate these small tools that can help you when you are working on the GrandMA3.

Hi Mr Mills. Thank you very much - i don’t have a Patreon page, since all this came is a bit of a surprise to me. I did not think that anyone would watch my videos. 😊 But my channel monetized a few weeks ago, and I have enabled Super Thanks. I am not sure how it works exactly, but I think that you can send something that way 😊 I might enable channel memberships at some point, but the super thanks are all I got right now 😊 Thank you very much for following along in all the videos, it means a lot that people are so supportive 😊

It's probably worth mentioning the Auto Stomp sequence setting. Switched on, any absolute value coming from a cue in this sequence will automatically stomp any potentially running phaser for that value coming from anywhere else.

Thanks for the video! Also, it would be very interesting to learn how to work with "phaser" and "MAtricks". How to do the division into blocks, wings, and so on for 3 versions.. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for your videos and the great teaching you do! Awesome speed and just the right amount of in-depth information :) on that note, just for youtube sake; You should consider adding some reference to this video in the "14 settings you need" video description, or vice versa.. I saw that video and I was looking for a way to assign bpm control, learn speed, speed master through all your previous videos before finally catching this one. I dont regret watching everything at all, just saying I wish I could find it easier.. I'm just learning MA3 (previously worked on M-PC/Onyx, then in ETC Cobalt at the theatre and now I'm back in a rental company that just got an MA3 cmd wing..

Thank you @ivanpavlovic5797 🙏 You watching all the videos are a good thing for my little channel, and i never really go back and change the description on the older videos. 😀 I can see the problem, but then I would need to add link the every possible scenario people would come across, and I don´t think that would be possible for me to imagine 😀 How do you find MA3 in a theater environment, compared to ETC? There seems to be a few things people are use to on ETC that works different on GrandMA3?

@@Event-Lighting Correction; i dont use MA3 in the theatre, im in a rental company.. The theater i worked at would never move on to something other than ETC because most of my "older and more experienced 😑" former colleagues arent interested in learning a new workflow and sometimes even resisting any new ideas that come. Recently, during covid 2021/2022 we got a new console, an ETC gio@5, and that one still to this day is sitting in a cardboard box and its not used because they find the old Congo sufficient and dont want to learn basically... You can see now why i dont work in that theater anymore, I'm 26 years old and the last thing i want for myself is to stagnate with my skills and become like them.. Its easier to move on and try something new than to argue with coworkers to try to change their opinion..

Thanks for the video! Question : I want to create a Snap effect on fixtures (sunstrip active for exemple) and I would like the effect to start at tempo, so what is the method to playing BPM ? Thank you again for your videos

Can you go over making quicker symmetrical and asymmetrical circle phasers in this update again? Also an update on how to "park fixtures" in this new update, as of course its not available in 2.

In grandMa2 it was possible to make a sequence into a chaser and even putting it in random order. In grandma3 that is replaced with phaser step function..but i would like to learn how to set individual timing for each step to make more interesting effect. For example a color chase between red and blue but for the blue to last longer. for example step 1: 1 sec, step 2: 5 sec. How would I do that?

I’ve been storing effects into their representative preset. Dimmer effects into the Dimmer preset, colors into color presets etc. Any disadvantages doing this instead of using an All Preset (if my phaser effect is just working on one parameter at a time)?

  • @arnieitthvad
    @arnieitthvad7 ай бұрын

Is there a reason to store the Blue/Cyan phaser effect as an All preset, instead of just storing it as a color preset ? (same with pretty much any parimiter, a dimmer effect would make sense as a dimmer preset for me)

@@Event-Lighting And how can I see if there is a Stomp stored inside a cue and how can I perhaps get rid of it then and how is the stomp really added to specific parameters (like only colors e.g.) - is it only possible if you use Parts?
