Hi saumya, really appreciate your time and effort in making these videos. I have a Fully automatic LG front load 8kg washing machine for the past 4years. The experience has been horrible. The machine would move all over the place and make loud vibration sounds. The service centre would always say that the problem is with this particular LG model I have, and also that it is in the guest bathroom hence it is an issue. I plan on buying a washer dryer. We are a family of 3 and I am thinking of buying either Bosch or Samsung. What would your recommendation be regarding the placement of the machine in the house?

@@vid111 because Bosch is the OEM for Siemens. That's why. I don't recommend either of these brands because of sealed tubs. Korean don't have this issue.

Hello Soumya. Thank you for uploading this video. I appreciate all the work you do and feel your channel is addressing a huge gap in the Indian space where consumers do not have access to intelligent product reviews. Your Mattress review videos helped me with my purchase decision recently. Coming to BOSCH front loaders. I bought one 4 years ago and am overall happy with it. However recently my friend had a bad experience with service on his 5 year old Bosch front loader. It seems the drum in Bosch machines is a sealed unit and not serviceable. If any part of the drum inner/outer/ bearings etc. go bad, the whole drum needs to be replaced. In his case the bill quoted was Rs.12,000/- + service charges. I also learned online that in Europe the consumer commission has banned/ discouraged the use of such non serviceable parts. Going forward i believe that people will become more aware of the service costs and repairability of washing machines and this too will play a bigger role in their purchase decisions.

Thanks Amogh for sharing your experience! I agree on the serviceability aspect. It is typically so unpredictable though. There are so many instances I’ve heard the same model work well for 99% of people while the remaining 1% may have some issue - either a manufacturing defect or usage based defect.

Absolutely correct, a brand that does not seal their tubs is cheaper to maintain such as LG or Samsung. Do not buy Bosch or siemens for this reason or until they change their curernt practices

Recently, my Bosch Front Load washing machine broke down. Bosch mechanic diagnosis was that the washing machine drum has been cut. He explained that Drum has two parts - Stainless steel drum and outer hard plastic shell. Bosch and Siemens has outer shell fixed with plastic locks which may not be opened and thus both steel drum and plastic shell needs to be replaced. Cost 13.5K. LG and Samsung on other hand has outer shell fixed by screws and thus easily replaceable. Cost 8K only. Please confirm.

What I understood was any belt drive front loader after a few years will start to vibrate and jump. It puts unnecessary stress on the springs and shock absorbers. One needs to change after some years. So spare parts availability and cheaper spares and local mechanic support is a must. I like LG because we use LG Direct drive for almost 8 years. No vibration and no jumping around. My suggestion is LG, Samsung, IFB is best considering the above criteria. I have seen brand new Bosch in scrap market citing service issues and prohibitive spares.

Guys we have bought LG fully automatic front load 8KG and beluve me when I visit at my relatives i regret my decision very much. Our Aunt's IFB which doesn't have steak option but plathora of other options performs so good with nice wash quality and perfect use of fabric softners at the end. Cloths come out fresh and nice smelling after the wash. And it costed them jist 27k when purchased (33k usually). My cousin's samsung which is about 6-7 years old also washes cloths very nicely (apart from occasion holes in delicate cloths) and cloths comw out fresh and nice smelling. Our brand new LG is simply a waste of money I guess. However much clean I keep it, it smells after some weeks. Cloths are washed good but it doesn't make use of fabric softners properly. Cloths come out with disappointing wash quality and don't smell nicely like other's machine wash. I bought it comaidering Direct drive, steam wash (which i never used), and what not. Takes a hell lot time than estimated. Simply not hapoy with the purchase. In my opinion IFB is best. I don't know about Bosch though.

But does not clean so well unless the input water temperature is thirty degrees or more. Will it be so if you wash in the morning or during a cloudy day? with a front loader, this is not an issue and the water is fixed and you get a consistent result. Power consumption is overrated anyway. Running my front loader with the heater on is fifteen units per month. I will not starve if I have that much more.

I've heard that front load washing machines use more power? 🤷🏻

Vibrations in front load washing machine is not due to higher rpm, it is because horizontal axis rotational members(front load) are always inherently sensitive to load balancing, compared to load balancing in top load washing machine, which is simpler and less sensitive..

Thanks for sharing. I understand that. And because of that sensitivity to load balancing and the higher spin speeds in front load, the vibrations are caused. Even if you do level it, there is vibrations due to the spin speed. So I don’t believe its misinformed. Also - when educating audience, it’s always better to explain in a way they understand. Not sure axial rotation is understood well.

@@TheGrapevineIndia Your point concerning vibrations wrt RPM can also be demonstrated by looking at the silent wash program, which is usually preset at 800 RPM even though the machine can spin at 1200 or 1400 RPM.
