Bought a 2021 black Wolfsburg edition here in Australia coming from a new BMW 340i as I needed to tow and the BMW couldn't be fitted with a tow bar. I was worried I'd feel like a soccer mom but have been blown away by the performance, the economy, but especially the comfort. The criticisms about the lack of buttons are lost on me. I think the infotainment and integrated vehicle functions into the screen works really well. Most of the time you only need to adjust the temperature or seat heating/cooling/massage and all of these are super easy. Criticisms? The pretty average material quality for this price and Apple CarPlay integration which just looks lazy. There are a few features of the BMW I would have liked in the Touareg but overall it's amazing value for money.

I am driving the 4.0tdi with 422hp - its a understatement monster. The real power after testing is 465hp. Its a very nice, quiet and comfortable car with some points which I dont like, some buttons are missing, to handle the aircondition is not soo easy, the soundsystem is really bad for such price and the lane assist is crazy nervous, always needed to switch it off at the beginning.

Got my Black Edition in October 2022 after replacing my 2014 Touareg r line. This is the best car I have ever owned and well worth the large dent it put in my pension pot. What an absolutely stunning vehicle.

@@Christine_x A lot better than my older one Hun. I am averaging around 34 around town but on a long run over 40. A bit less in sport mode every now and again. If you get one you will not regret it.

I’m a big VW guy so loved this! Just wish I had £64k spare…..another great episode, love the 3 features and that 15 inch infotainment screen is Delish. Maybe Adam should drive on the next episode and oli goes in the boot, I mean back.

Bought one last month here in China. I’d prefer the diesel one but only petrol option is available in this country. EA839 3L V6 engine, 340hp and 0-60 less than 6 seconds. It’s a good suv I love it and I’ve hit 3000 miles in the first month!

Had mine from new since 2020. Absolutely love it, the only thing I’d like is actual knobs and buttons for the heating, find it very distracting when driving. Would also like apple car play to take up the whole screen rather than just a small square.

I got mine a week ago .. 2022- Black obsidian. I have RA and for my disability it’s almost perfect , doors can be hard to close without slamming

Yes full screen would look so much better. The screen is big enough for it to use. I don’t like it when screens don’t utilise all of the available space. Makes it looks cheap. Thanks for sharing and chatting 🤗

You get used to it. I hired one for 3 days and it was fine. Prefer the new steering wheel design over old for sure.

Nice car but wasn’t expecting that price tag! Would get q5 or eqa over this maybe even x4 coupe

q5, x4 are smaller class then Touareg which is better then q7 and x5, you must learn more about cars

Just bought one, pretty much the same spec I guess albeit in Malbec Red, scheduled to be delivered end September 2022. Looking forward to it. I didn’t bother with the heads up display, don’t think it’s worth the money, but added massage chairs for my wife (no, really it’s for my wife :-)). Smooth is what I’m looking for and relatively cheap compared to similar cars in this segment. I’m curious how well the car will smoothen out the bumpy roads with air suspension and 21” wheels…

Thanks for the comment🤗 I think you will love the car. I agree with you about the heads up display. I actually find that it gives me a blood shot eye when I’m driving for long periods. So I’ve actually turned them off on other cars that have them or have the brightness right down. I’m sure your wife is going to love the seats lol. Just a couple of weeks more, last week it was ready to be shipped. Once it arrives the dealer has to build in the dashcam and apply the ceramic paint etc. Exciting!

That's my next car-the R-line 286 hp diesel version. Just in grey and on 19' rims. 21' are stupid. :)

How is the engine compared to the Porsche Cayenne ?

Thanks for the comment🤗 That’s a great question. I think the Cayenne has a diff exhaust manifold and a different tune so it would be very interesting to see the difference if there is much of one. @@CarChatTV yes I was. I had a look under the bonnet of both, and to be honest everything looked almost identical. Obviously the engine was covered with the plastic bit so I can’t go any further to compare the two. I feel stuck because if both cars have similar engines and spare parts, what am I paying the extra cash for? The prestige of owning a Porsche? Given the choice which would you recommend. The GLE coupe? The Porsche Cayenne ? Or the VW Touareg ?

@@buridah328 you are totally right. It’s basically so you can say you have a Porsche, although the material used and the interior will be amazing. Fundamentally it’s the same parts. I would say it would all depend on budget, the Touareg is a great car, but I think probably the merc GLE would be the pick as it’s in the middle. Let me know what you choose. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽

Yeah manufactures are starting to do that. It’s annoying. I guess they are trying to go for a cleaner look. But it can be frustrating when you are used to something that was so easy to locate and use. Personally I like them separated but from a lot of new designs they are incorporating them into the touch screen! It’s a bit like the cameras for wing mirrors. Don’t like them lol thanks for chatting 👍🏽
