One good thing to also mention that I’ve noticed using vertical stands, is when the Apple logo is oriented the correct way, the lid opening slit allows dust to slight sneak its way in. So after some time, my keyboard outline is printed onto the screen from the dust. I like keeping my laptop fairly clean and spotless, so by placing the MacBook into the stand with logo upside down, it also keeps my screen way more clean and doesn’t dust print the outline of my keyboard

My preference is with the HumanCentric Vertical Laptop Stand.

I have a 2015 mbp ,Screen broke (Gonna use it like a Mac mini) ,Cost the same amount to get a replacement (cheapest I’ve seen is $400 on eBay) I found out the antenna for WiFi and Bluetooth is located in the screen.Will the metal interfere?

Can you open the lid a bit while the MacBook is in the first humancentric stand? Since this is the only way to power on a shutdown MacBook with Silicon chip, this would be a huge benefit of this design!

How do you switch on and off every time of the use? Take it out switch on then put it back?

Would love to get a new base stand for my LG 5k apple monitor can not find one anywhere.

Thanks for the video. I haven’t seen many videos or articles that address the possible heat ventilation issue. I’ve wondered about the orientation of the M1 Pro Mac Pro in a vertical stand. I bought a different branded godspin, very nice. It only blocks 1 of the three rear vents and I have a couple lengths of 1/8” plastic tubing in each horizontal/vertical corner. That keeps the center vent from sitting directly on the rubber mat. I was wondering if the two front lateral vents are effective enough, since Apple touts the fact that the fans hardly ever run. Also, after looking at a teardown video, it”s hard to tell how much passive ventilation actually comes out the rear… only the center vent? Or, am I overthinking this? - Dan

I would try and monitor and see if there are issues. I am guessing none or minimal.

I agree, but have your Macbook with the hinges-side /vents facing upward /top for ventilation purposes (the logo position is upside down, but is secondary to functionality )

I need a vertical stand that has cable raceways underneath my power cable is on the bottom in the middle.

Best one to get is the rain brand vertical stand in my opinion These are two small a width of a base to hold a upright laptop Without falling over The rain one is 46.00 but worth it in my opinion These are just two small Again my opinion.

Hi Jerry! I just purchased a new M1 MacBook Air and, since it's so incredibly light, I wondered if the plastic HumanCentric stand would still grip it? Did you test that model (or a similarly light and thin laptop)? Or, do you have a different recommendation for a MacBook Air? Thanks!

I like the design of the plastic one. I would pay more money for something like that in metal with spring pivot hinges and a lot more sturdier than the plastic.

I just got the GodSpin for my base M3 Macbook. Recently, I've been watching videos about taking care of Macbooks. Granted, I'm not as familiar with Macbooks as I am with an iMac. It appears to me some KZread videos point out the vulnerability of closing the screen and keyboard body in certain positions: be there a camera tab blocker that eventually bends the screen; or the heat from the keyboard affecting the screen when closed together; or just placing a closed Macbook other than a solid vertical upright position (especially during travel). Watching these videos earlier this week, I just realized: should there be any precautions in placing a Macbook in a vertical stand from the closing hinge side or the opening mouth side. I ask because with the GodSpin stand, the mouth slides in differently than the "hinge" side. It's a different curvature and size at these parallel sides. So aside from considering heat and air flow, I'm wondering if placing the laptop right side up or upside down, would have a salient effect on eventually bending the laptop. Any thoughts, sir? Anyone? couchpotatter

I don’t think there would be any concern about bending in one of these stands.

Waiting for the BookArc to get compatible and of course the only reasonably prices alternative that could have worked as a stopgap solution is not available in EU 🤦‍♂

Does using the laptop in the vertical stand have any impact on it's cooling? Closing the lid seems like it also closes off the vents at the front of the computer near the display.

for 27” i like to scale at 2560x1440 which looks ok on a 4k display. If you match the pro display xdr scale of 3008x1692 on a 4k display I think it will look too blury. not sharp enough.

Probably but not sure how sturdy. High pile carpet may be an issue.

This stuff doesn't scratch the MacBook at all? I've never used one but that's my first thought seeing them being placed inside.

I don't think that thumbscrew was better because that is something what you have to change maybe once in a one or two year so it doesn't need to thumbscrew there.

Just a note on the Wood. That is black walnut not oak. Great video.

The same people who would want a minimal desk setup in the first place, which is exactly what this is for. If you’re into having a clean aesthetic of course an upside down logo would bother you. This isn’t rocket science lol.

@@JerrySchulze Oh I’m not against vertical stands. I’m against cheap garbage from China. Or anywhere for that matter. The problem is there’s almost nothing decent out there. Seen many of cheap ones, but nothing decent. Which is why I came here looking for a good option. The MacBook Dock from Grovemade looks like a nice quality stand. Can’t recommend it first hand thought as I still have to place my order and have some time using it. Btw don’t let the word dock confuse you as it’s just a vertical stand.
