Best metal alloy motors in the USA prob right? I had a late 90’s Explorer XLT 4.0L v6, after 5 years, the cylinder head broke..then got a 08 Ford Taurus, after 5yrs a rod was about to he thrown (engine done they said). So never a Ford aggain

They were new or the Taurus had 20k miles when i got it. Explorer was brand new. My first car. I miss it. Got it in highschool. One day ill probably have to get that 4door teal green with the tan interior again, just for memories sake, when i have the money. It was a very functional vehicle. I put the seats down and laid in their with girls on the back roads etc. sleeping bag or put a mattress in there. The Taurus was amazing too...it was fast 3.5L v6 263hp and it beat my buddy’s 2010 Tundra with the like 5.7 or faster engine. It just sux that their motors break like clockwork🕰 (Ford that is) bcuz they ride good and have power, & have most appealing to the 👁 interior

I had a 2005 F150 with the 5.4 triton engine with 284,000 miles original engine & transmission on it depends on you. You take care of it and you will go places lol.

@@andrewb232 LS motors transmissions are shit. I got an ecoboost, it's hella fast and pretty strong no problems at all. many people already got 200k+ miles on it. And a small ecoboost has more HP & torque than that weak 6.2L

Yes Ford 450 is a dually but it is considered a 1 1/4 ton truck. Where you would need to compare a Chevy 4500 and a ram 4500

You can’t get a 4500 from either gm or ram without it being a commercial class vehicle, the f-450 is still a normal truck

2021 ram 3500 can haul 100 lbs more than the ford f-450 so ram is the best dually tow rig

May be so, but that two bags of water softener salt. You get a wide track front end for better turning which makes it just a bit nicer in tight situations. I will say, Ram does make a solid truck.

If you were looking for towing there’s nothing that beats 6.7 power stroke strongest engine out there and also even just switching into tow mode there’s so many features in tow mode like shifting down while breaking, exhaust brake, hill dissent and it’ll hold the brake till you get going from a stop on the hill so you won’t roll backwards extremely helpful while towing a load

I tow my boat with a zr2 about 5k miles a year. Never had a single issue. Gladiator rubicons can't say that.

If I recall right both 2020 GM and Ram 3500 duallies were rated around 35k

Purchased a November 12, 2022 Ram 3500 tradesmen November 13, 2022 the transmission FAILED. I bought the truck in Texas and I couldn’t take it back and the refuse to buy it back due to their lemon law. Stay away from Ram.

I’m my friend has had an LML I deleted and tuned on EFI live, the thing hauls at the lightest a skid loader everyday from 9-5 and hauls ass the rest of the night. He’s got 205k on it without a single issue other then a headlight harness I replaced a few weeks ago, the thing gets beat on but loves it.

I am a GM guy since forever, but I will not put my hard-earned money down on an 8-speed transmission that has a class action lawsuit against it. I will probably buy a Gen2 3.5L Ecoboost with a 10 speed for towing in the thin air of the Rocky Mountains. My 2001 GMC Sierra that I paid $11k for when it was 2-3 YO, has always been shedded and still has near showroom looks and no rust. It has been very low maintenance, but I don't believe a 2018 GM is of the same quality. I need a turbo for towing at 11,000 feet.

I like the yalls videos but the picks for this one were rough to say the least

1:20 my single cab dropped to the floor with a 6.0 would love to disagree (bagged so I can lift when pulling shit)

I was looking at 1/2 ton truck for towing a travel trailer that weighs fully loaded at like 7000 lbs. It can’t do it safely with 2 adults, 3kids, a dog, and stuff. It would be over max payload. So I am looking at a F250 or a Ram 2500 now.

You hit the nail on the head. “Towing capacity” doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have the payload/cargo capacity to match. Towing always goes by the weakest link, which is usually the cargo capacity.

Go with the RAM. I tow a 30 ft travel trailer that weighs about the same as yours with 2 adults, 2 dogs, and all our stuff and I don’t even feel it behind the truck

@@lanemorrison4145 lol. I have a 2017 ram 2500 Cummins. You’ll love the way the Cummins drives and tows. You can’t feel the load behind you. And in my opinion the ram is the most comfortable truck on the road. It’s my wife and I’s road trip vehicle even when we aren’t towing

No I beg to differ I think for a midsize put a supercharger in a toilet, I can easily tow gooseneck trailer with hey car like a forerunner on it because I’ve seen it done

The best is definitely a Ford F-350 dually and whatever specs you want

I think ford should’ve gotten best diesel, you can get 1050 torque in the f-250 and it’s rated quite a lot higher for towing than the ram

Inline 6 beats a V8 when it comes to towing every time. Peak torque is at a much lower RPM which is ideal when towing. Look at any hot shot company, barely anyone is fleeted up with ford's or chevs it's all about the cummins.

Ram 2500 is the best truck on the market

Agree and disagree 1. Ranger/Colorado be about the same 2. F150 all day!! 3. 5th Gen Cummins is a good choice and the Inline 6 has been a good engine, but the Scorpion 6.7 in the Ford would give it a run for its money 4. Ford F450 all day!! 5.
