I did proline belted on my Rustler VXL and I was impressed at first, but I went back to stock and had better reliability and steering. What an amazing spot you found! Lots of scary hard surfaces, hah!

Loved the couple of random tyre squeezes at 8:00!

I bet that motor got hot as hell with those tires on it 😂

Another great video both 🥰 You got the front flip 😁 smooth as butter too, many cool landings but it's the crashing I love especially when it's a traxxas 🤣🤣 they annoy me, they always want to throw the body off lol. They are extremely durable cars, I'd like to see traxxas make a contender for the Arrma outcast and Kraton as I think they would design a more durable truck. The max is a different platform so you can't really compare them but durability wise the max wins hands down. Love the energy you guys have, your videos are uplifting, there's no denying your chemistry ❤ That track is 6s outcast/Kraton territory guys😏 I'd sell a testicle to be able to get my outcast on there 😍 even a 3s would be so much fun ✌👍🙂

I just bought the belted badlands and I dont care for how it handles now compared to the stock. Also noticed some chattering in the gears accelerating from stand still. Traction is great! Wish they made these in stock size or traxxas offered a stronger stock tire.. I dont have the widemaxx kit yet either so im not sure I'm getting the best out of those badlands on my maxx...

You do not want the metal spur gear. especially for bashing. With Metal, much more things break. For example the motor shaft bends on high jump chassis slaps, trust me it will only take a few of them and something high cost breaks

Hi I have a question. Can you also drive the tires with the original wheel carriers?

Nice video.👍😍 Since you're replace that spur gear check the cush drive too, see if the rubber is still good (in shape). it is very important to check that cush drive rubber, caz that is the part to soften the power so you don't kill the diffs. On my maxx i have to replace it a little over half year.

Beast MAXX!! I just ordered those tire as well as a metal spur and smaller pinion....other than the spur gear, have you encountered any other issues running the larger tires?

Awesome video. Had many great laughs in there. Would you recommend the sledgehammers or or pro line belted trenchers for the Maxx for bashing? The stock tyre got slashed straight up the middle on it's first day of use (Christmas Day!!!).

The maxx is a beast!!!! It puts up with a ton of abuse!!! I just might have to get me one? Thanks for sharing guys💯😊

Also, the sledgehammers are pretty awesome. They're not belted, but barely balloon, if at all. They are splined too, so can only run them on traxxas hubs. But I love them on my maxx. Closer to stock size too.

Great video guys. You really put those tyres to the test on concrete, how about some off road to show them digging up some dirt? Metal on metal is solid, plastic on plastic is pretty good, but metal on plastic shows the weakness of plastic, or is that the strength of metal? The paddle tyres are very cool for running on water ;) Keep up the good work :)

I have these on my erevo 2.0. love them, love the look of the truck. Your maxx looks great. I want something in between the size of these and the size of the stock Maxx tires. But I cant find any tires in the 5.8" to 6.3" range.

This video makes me want to buy the Maxx and upgrade to 3.8 tires!

I have put so much work and money into my Traxxas Maxx without even running it for an hour. I noticed that chatter right off the bat when I put my Badlands on so I'm going to take your advice and replace the gear. thank you

Come on Joe you need to learn to share 🤣😂. Great bashing spot!!! Something has to give in the drive train with the tyre size and weight change. Mind you that's part of the fun! Modify, break, fix and repeat.

Its EPIC there ae! It was kinda closed..... we may or may not have snuck under the gate... 🤐 No I didn't change the gearing which is what ultimately lead to the spur stripping! I've learnt my lesson and ordered some new gears (metal) hopefully gearing down will prevent this from happening. I didn't notice the temps too high, but going from 24 to 22 pinion should help keep them at bay. Cheers! 🍻

I have the same tires on my maxx but it cogs like crazy off the start. Any incline and game over, just cogs on me till it’s angled downhill. About to change to 20/54 gears to help but idk what to expect yet. Did y’all keep your gears stock?

Hello, yes you will have to go down in size! I cant remember what size we eventually ent down too. But we have sinced tried the traaxas sledgehammer tires and prefer them now on our maxx!

Which one would u recommend Traxis max Or the notorious 6s ???

Sorry we haven't had the Notorious 6s, but we do have the Kraton EXB and personally I (Joe) prefer the EXB over the Maxx! 😁

Yes they are!! It makes the Maxx look like a even bigger 🦍

The turning circle might be wider because your steering servo isn’t powerful enough to turn the bigger wheels because when I put proline trencher 3.8s on my kraton 6s I had to upgrade the steering servo because it wasn’t turning the wheels all the way

I have the Traxxas Maxx and the steering servo is HUGE. And somehow it's sucks pretty bad. Very weak. It's like they took a normal slash 4x4 servo and put it in a bigger box just so we can't buy a regular one for the Maxx. IDK 🤨.

Can u please do a dirt test on these tires

Hey there! Sorry, we wouldn't know as we have used them only with the metal ones... I think it would put more strain on them leading to breakages faster over time.. 🍻

In the video we didn’t... and we learnt our lesson... now we have put a 22t pinion and metal spur gear, so far it’s holding up well! Cheers 🍻

@@TheRcKiwis I've been looking for an answer to the same question for a while now since I also have the widemaxx kit and widemaxx steel cvds. Are you running the steel 46th tooth spur to go with that 22t pinion? Also, with such added weight, how is the stock servo holding up?

I just ordered a set of tires just like that and they said that they would not work I would have to change the gears in my traxxas maxx can you help me out

Hey! We left ours stock... probably why added towards the spur stripping... a guy with the same tires recommended a 50T metal spur and a 22T pinion :)

It helps prevent the ballooning that can happen at high speeds 😊 which can lead to loss of control or tires exploding! 😬

the belted 3.8 prolines are great but they simply just dont last...i have run them on my arrma kraton 6s with some mods and they lasted less than a month..
