Have you ever been to Ogunquit, Maine? If not, it should definitely be on your list of places to see. A trip to New England, especially in the warmer months, is unforgettable, and Ogunquit is the quintessential New England beach town. And while places like Boston and Portland are a lot more well-known, Ogunquit is a must-visit. New Englanders and east coasters who are in the know flock to this sleepy coastal town when the weather gets nice, both to experience the pleasures of Maine in the warmer months and to escape the heat from elsewhere.

Ogunquit is full of fantastic attractions, great food, and plenty to do. In this video, we’re taking a look at some of the best things to do and see while you’re in Ogunquit. We talk about the gorgeous (and huge) Ogunquit Beach, which takes up 3 miles of coastline, and is a great spot to set up camp for the day for some sunbathing and other beach activities. We cover the Marginal Way, a paved hiking path that sits above the beach, which has become a huge tourist attraction because of its breathtaking views. We also talk about the Ogunquit Playhouse and the
Ogunquit Museum of American Art which offers visitors a chance to get some culture and entertainment of the highest quality. And we talk about places like Bread and Roses Bakery, where you can fill up with coffee and baked goods before heading out for the day to explore this quaint Maine beach town. And we go over other great spots to visit, including Perkins Cove and The Bald Head Cliff, which boasts the best sunset viewing in town. So check out this video today, as Viewcation presents: The Best Things to Do in Ogunquit, Maine!

I grew up near there. No local in his or her right mind goes near that place from Memorial Day to Labor Day if they can help it.

Some scenes from Stephen King's The Stand were filmed in Ogunquit. The 1994 version not the remake.

The 10,000 Souvenirs store on route one heading towards Wells, or it could possibly be over the town line in Wells,?, is a fantastic, charming souvenir shop that offers a huge variety, including many children's toys, at reasonable prices. They're is also a lovely restaurant, Jackies II in Perkins Cove on the water that includes a large outdoor dining area with spectacular views over the ocean. We also enjoy take out Ogunquit Pizza, when you feel like relaxing back in the quarters you're staying, instead of heading out. This is one of, if not the top beach, in New England. Very family oriented, also LGBTQ friendly.

DON'T let your small kids anywhere near the river at the Main Beach! The current is extremely strong, and they'll get sucked into a strong whirlpool.
