Glad you enjoy the channel. Whereabouts is your holiday home?
I lived in Spain for 6 months back in 2017 and now I’m looking for ways to visit there again. Miss it there so much.

I don't know where you live but apart from the camino the all roads are in very good condition ( better than the UK ), second hand cars are expensive but buying new isn't ( cheaper than the UK ) regards banks if you have 30k or more in the account you won't get charged.

Thanks for your comment. I live up in the mountains in Malaga province. The main roads are mostly excellent, better than Ireland certainly, but the smaller tracks to get to most of the houses in the campo are either potholed or rocky. The local council have recently been around filling in the potholes with tarmac. Most people drive 4x4s out here, ours isn’t, but it has good ground clearance which really helps. I’ve not checked out brand new car prices, but I know that they don’t depreciate as rapidly as the UK. As far as banks are concerned, like I’ve said in a few videos, in my experience and having read of others’ experience, charges seem to be different everywhere so I wouldn’t tell anyone a fixed rule, it’s always best to speak to the manager.
Top man very informative even though I'm not moving to Spain just a holiday home does me since 2007👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Good evening
I was thinking of getting a camper van to explore the north of Spain in the 3 months I am allowed to stay at the moment ( planning to relocate in 2024 ) - is that a bad idea ? Do they have places for camper vans to park up or is it not a thing in Spain ? Thanks Maf
@youtoospain
Жыл бұрын
There are plenty of camper vans in Spain and plenty of places to park up as far as I know. I know an amazing spot on the north coast, I’ll find the map location for you. Just bear in mind it’s really difficult if not impossible to import camper vans to Spain when you finally relocate so you’ll need to sell it in the UK.
Think this is on topic . Uk passport holder, when planning to retire at say 56-57, and I have the required amount to live and want an NLV to start to become a resident. So, will I still have to follow the 90/180 rule. Regards
@youtoospain
Жыл бұрын
Hi Leighton, once you have your NLV and residency in Spain you can stay in Spain without worrying about the 90/180 rule. If you want to travel to other EU countries though, you still need to obey the rule. You just don’t count time in Spain in your calculation of days spent in the Schengen Area. Having said that, it’s difficult to police because there are no internal borders. Just bear in mind if you want to become a permanent resident after five years you can prove you’ve not left Spain for too long.
@zerocool6167
Жыл бұрын
@YouToo Spain thank you. So do I become a temporary resident at the time the NLV is agreed and therefore don't need to follow 90/180 or do I have to follow the rule for the 5 years until I'm a permanent resident.
@youtoospain
Жыл бұрын
@@zerocool6167 you become a temporary resident from your date of entry into Spain once you have your residency and from then you can stay in Spain.

Nothing yet I’m afraid. I can’t wait!
Hi there! I came across your channel about a month or so ago. Me and my partner are planning on retiring in Spain, probably in the Costa Brava. We can certainly use and appreciate any and all advise and help we can get. I would really love to talk with a tax accountant (usa or spain) to ensure we dont "jump into the fire" on taxes for our retirement years. We dont have much, but cant afford to lose any funds by not informing ourselves properly. We have been to Spain 5x already, and this time exploring the Costa Brava in late September, we hope to find perhaps a 60-80k eu condo to purchase. We love your channel and look forward to each new video. Please tell me how we can utilize the info you offer on this channel? I am a youtube novice as far as seeking and finding this type of offered info. Do I need to join a special group of followers to attain this helpful info like tax and immigration assistants? Much love and thanks! Keep up the great channel!------ Sean and Gil

Hi Sean & Gil, You’re in the right place. First of all make sure you subscribe to this KZread channel, and also to www.YouTooSpain.com where there are resources and links to help you with your move. There is a Gestor (accountant) on the Partner Directory page who could help you with your tax questions. He’s not in the Costa Brava area but he doesn’t need to be in order to help you. You should also check out the rest of our partners on that page, especially Chris at Upsticks and Tracy at Smart Currency Exchange. The exchange rate is amazing for you at the moment and they can fix the rate as it stands right now so you don’t have to worry about it changing for the worse.
I hoping to buy a mobile home near el Rocio , how much a month do you really need to live on , food , gas , water ,leccy etc ?? 8.000 euros a year ?

@@youtoospain Excellent. Most people haven't been watching you non stop for several years though. I'd expect in a video of top 10 tips for moving to Spain posted after Brexit for Brexit to have been given at least one mention. Maybe include a link in the videos that do next time?

@@01ivi3r the only tip I would give about Brexit when it comes to moving to Spain would be to forget about Brexit and focus on how to be ready. That’s what this video is about. No point dwelling on the negative. If that’s not what you expected then there’s nothing I can do about that. If you want to watch videos about Brexit I do have a few, here’s one: What has Brexit ever done for British Expats? Our Top Ten kzread.info/dash/bejne/d2WrxcSwf7DSk84.html
How many Brits do you think Spain can take please,
@youtoospain
Жыл бұрын
Loads, as long as they have enough money. Spain has over 15 million fewer people than there are in the UK and it’s more than twice the size. The more people residing in Spain all year round, the more money there will be in the economy and that provides jobs for Spanish people. It’s not without its problems having a more elderly population, some of whom don’t stay there permanently, but I’d say it’s better for the economy to have plenty of immigrants who can pay their way.
