I recommend you to create a manual save right before you start this mission. Don’t get off the horse once you tame it. Follow instructions in the video. You’re gonna have to save the game, then reload the save file to remount her. If you enjoy the content, please subscribe to the channel.

@@hyper3094The horse doesn’t despawn. People just underestimate how fast you have to be to catch up with the herd after the cutscene. You really have to break off from the herd as early as you can and do everything extremely quickly. If when you launch the second cutscene the horses are already out of view, it’s already too late.

I love using this method because it truly feels like you're trying to break an untameable, wild horse. It feels a lot more satisfying than the usual taming process of the wild horses in the game.

Perfect guide! Did it in April, 2024. First try couldn't find the horse, second try had to chase it down and perfectly time the jump, but the guide is as advertised. Excellent!

I do the method but the horses despawn when I gallop to the spot by the train tracks. *edit* After another attempt and keeping the horse from despawning after a while I finally managed to get the horse so it does work.

@@amyvk_ I did the method of getting my horse as close to Albert as I could and then borrowed his horse and ran the event like normal dashing to albert and skipping the scene following the same path as in the video I was able to track down the silver dapple and I didn't have to eagle eye it so long as I was able to keep it in my field of vision took about 30 minutes and falling off about 6 times for me to tame the Pinto.

The best thing is to keep that save file of Acardia for Amateurs III and keep trying the mission over and over. I had to try three times before I was able to keep my eye on the Silver Dapple. The key is basically to keep trying. But RockworthRDR2's method does work.

Still works as of 10/19/2023. Thank you for making this guide, I really wanted to get Arthur this horse but the other methods were pretty complicated. Tried this and it worked beautifully! It did take me three tries just because of timing mistakes, but this tutorial was super helpful! I chased the SDP down on the blue roan nokota, and was able to follow at a fairly slow pace until I cornered the foxtrotter. It did take some finagling for the jump prompt to show up, and the horse bucked me off three times, but patience won out! Remember to be patient once you catch up and don't be afraid to reload and start the mission fresh if you need to.

The key to not getting bucked off is if the horse tries to go left, steer right and vica versa. If he goes straight try to turn him. Once he starts to turn, go the other way. Be careful not to over compensate they can change directions quickly and you'll be on the ground on your rump. I've only been bucked off twice. Right when I started playing. The horse Hosea gets you is a POS.

TIP, park your horse as close behind Albert as you can, and tell it to wait, TEST to ensure it will allow you to mount it tho , if you park too close it will not let you mount. Also start as soon as the sun comes up, you could be chasing for a while, and try to push her south and not north as wolves can interfere or make her buck you once your on her.

I skip it, it works. What matters is the timing after skipping the second cutscene. You have to try to get over to the horses as soon as possible.

Just a tip, it is really important to place your horse just like in the video for easy access after the second cut scene. It is also important how you position yourself before the second cut scene. Done getting my MFT after this vid today on 5th try!

Always remount and test that it allows you to mount, as if you park the horse too close it will not let you mount it. So park, get off, remount to ensure it lets you, then start.

Watch the first cut scene, and skip the second, when you shoo the horses the slower their going the better, like 1/4 once in the open field haul ass to Mason, just make sure the horses are at least going in his direction, even slow, once the cut scene starts ai takes over. Get to Mason, skip cut scene, and haul ass to your horse, then haul ass straight, if you dont see them by the tracks at the corner there, then restart. You should see them going over the hill or heading straight in the bush at the end. And yes, up near wapiti theres a black Arabian, or the white one by the lake, have bonded level 4 helps, and lots of horse stam potions. Took me a few tried the first time and about 3 hours to chase him and jump on him, I found it better to not chase him full out just stay near, then do like darts at him attempt the jump, back off and let him calm. Try again. The last time I did it I mounted in 5min, once mounted STOP, feed till bonded lvl1 then stable store him, then saddle , then save and reload or it won't let you interact with him. But keep trying you'll get it. If you need more help lemme know and I can upload a video of the little tricks I learned. But watch his first cut scene or they don't always stay after the mission. But you just have to be quick.

THANK YOU so much for this! I tried the tracking with eagle-eye method ages ago from another video but never had any luck. Now I find this one and got it my third try (after a 15 minute chase lol). Fantastic work and thanks again!

So I just attempted this since I missed the Silver Dapple on my first playthrough, and I have to say it worked perfectly. Didn't skip the first cutscene, parked the horse next to Mason, skipped the last one, and gave chase. Although I botched the first one because my horse ran into something and I went flying lol. But the second went perfect. Thanks for the video and all the comments that added helpful hints.

As I've completed this mission already, can I replay this mission to get the horse? Or it's too late?

It works like a charm. I got her on my first try. It was less than 10 minutes from the start of the first cut scene until I had broken her. Thank for the great video!

First off, cheers for the great video. Chiming in on 09/02/2024! This method still works. I got her on the 2nd try. She seemed to despawn because of the auto-save prompt. Make sure to turn that off once you manually save before starting the mission. One tip is already mentioned below, but it's vital to make sure that your horse is ready to ride right after you skip Mason's 2nd cutscene. By far the most straightforward method! I'm stoked to have this beautiful horse super early in my 2nd playthrough.

I'm using an old 1.4xxx version and this does NOT work. I tried putting a coach there even and everything. The only horse that I see running (or even when tracking) on the other side way far off the hill is the brown reddish Tennessee Walker and no other horse from the 5 horde

Still works 12/30/23. Took me 3 or 4 tries as I could see the horses, but the Pinto disappeared. You really got to haul ass when you break off from the herd. Thanks for making this guide, Rockworth. Your content is a level up from other RDR2 guides.

You're awesome, thank you. I've successfully added the pinto to my collection. For anyone still trying, it's a pain. Run the hosrse againts rock walls to slow it down for the jump and to help your horse gain stamina. Take a race horse, my American Standardbred was only just enough to keep up.

It is so cool that u are still coming up with new methods for stuff like this in this game. I’ve played thru the story probably 5 times and never even did that side mission lmao. Ima still stick with the champagne Missouri Fox Trotter from the stable just because I love the way it looks but this definitely would be helpful for earlier in the game.

Another important point, if you save before doing the mission, remember to disable automatic save because the game will display a message after the mission and will immobilize your character for a few seconds and you won't have time to catch up with the horses. It happened to me personally, but I don't know if it's a recurring problem.

Only happens if you reloaded the save to restart the mission where the autosave has to overwrite the old save. If you do it on the first try the pop up wont happen.

My guy trust me when I say there is. It took me several tries but I got it. What I did was a bit different. I left my horse like 7-10 feet behind the photographer. I also deactivated the autosave. When I made those changes I got my MFT!@@Vishi177 Big thanks to @RockworthRDR2

Oh PS as the second cutscene begins make sure you angle the camera so you keep them in your sights then skip it as fast as you can. With me I didn't even have to run far for my horse.

Yo this is awesome! Took me a few tries but it's really not that bad. It's really important that you break from the herd in time and run straight to Mason. When I got out of the cutscene I could just see them going over the hill. If you start sprinting back too late, you won't catch up with them. Getting on the horse is a whole different beast, but eventually I got it. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for this! I've had 50% success with the parking the stagecoach method. One time, I fell behind, and tracked the Foxtrotter all the way to the civil war field before the tracks disappeared, but it was nowhere to be found. Another time I lost the tracks around Elisian Pool. The two times I did succeed, it was annoying to get on the horse through all the trees around the Elisian Pools area. Your method gives more of an open area to jump on the horse.

Took 2 tries but this method worked like a charm. Much appreciated. I would also recommend creating a new save slot just before you reload at the end in case something messed up and you need to go back to the save before the mission.

The fact I didn’t understand the importance of this mission i blew right through it and never thought seconds about it till I realized it was a rare horse

Thank you so much I got the horse within two tries the tracking took me 2 hours the sniping women took me 4 hours and the wagon took 3 hours, but this method is the best and efficient one

OMG a million thank yous. 9 playthroughs and this is the first time I've got this horse before the epilogue

God bless you man, got her in 1st try but lost her because I didn't see your whole video & got off of her. Lucky I maintain 4 save files & then I reloaded 2 save files before the mission and got her again and followed your instructions to the T and finally have her now as my horse.

This worked for me as of 2/21/24. She made me chase her into Beaver Hallow and get into a massive fire fight. She was even shot and stood up with barely any HP left. Thank you.

​@@kscileli I managed to skip the first cutscene, yet succeeded nonetheless. It's all about impeccable timing. I happened to be right next to Albert as he was capturing the photo, and you could also position a horse next to him, that was still clutch, they almost got away.

As of the New Year this method still works. I didnt skip the first cutscene. Parked my horse right behind Mason. Kept my line of sight on the horse. Once tamed take it to a stable, stable it and save. Then reload and boom. Thanks for everything.

I got it first try! Just do exactly what he does in the video and you will get it first try. I recommend picking a fast horse and leading it to a good spot before leading the horses back to him

On my 4th RDR 2 playthrough and just completed this method for the first time. Took me 2 attempts to tame her but only had to do the mission once thankfully. This really is such a simple method in hindsight and so many people overcomplicate it. Thank you for making this video. Currently at the early stages of chapter 2 so I can't wait to use her for the rest of Arthur's story 😊

This is the best video on Yt in regards to this topic. Got the horse on the first try with your method.

The other methods seemed like such a hassle that I never even bothered to try. But this actually seems doable without any craziness, so I think I'll give this a shot next time around.

This is the realest guide to getting this horse I've seen. Its May 21st 2024 and still works for PS4. I've tried the tracking method and wasted 20 minutes doing it only to lose the trail at the last moment. Truly the most frustrating and time consuming thing to do over and over again so I looked for another method but had no dice with the lady because I think I actually helped her sooo many hours of the game ago. This was my last hope and by god did it deliver. Positioned my horse close but not too close to Manson and made sure she was facing the tree line. Didnt see the horse after the cut scene skip and ran into an auto save screen but I still managed to run and catch up to it near the train tracks. Got lucky because the horse did donuts in one direction so I just kept my joystick back and to the left the whole time. Named her Frostbite :D

UPD: I tested this method three times. And it worked all the time. The secret is in NOT skipping the first cutscene. Then I intentionally skipped it one time and the horses just vanished afterwards. Thanks a lot!

Yo thank you! One tip that helped me was to tell my horse to stay right before I went to Mason. I had to chase the MTF around the whole damn map for about 45 mins, finally got on her and she bucked me. Got on her again and finally broke her. Best tutorial! Thanks for putting this out!!!

I was curious and I tried this, and it worked fine for me. Had to try it 3 times because at first I couldnt find the silver dapple after the second cut scene. But then, there was a train in their way so they were right before me and I managed to get the horse after some time. Thx a lot for the video!

What a beautiful horse and very effective method to get it. I used it during the epilogue in my first playthrough. I had the "brown" one, not this one. It's a very good horse, fast, brave and has a lot of stamina

Worked for me, Nov 11 2023! I fell off a few times while trying to tame her, which I was scared would ruin my chances of successfully saving her afterwards, but it didn’t seem to matter! I definitely stayed on after I broke her though, did not want to risk it. 10/10 thank you for this tutorial!!!! I got her in less than 10 mins😄

@@rainbowcat9700 The trick to not being thrown off while breaking/taming, soon as you get on it, hold the left stick straight down 6 oclock, then start quickly moving the stick back and forth from 7 o clock to 5 o clock, keep doing that until the horse stops. done

Never ever saw this method in all the many years I have played! Awesome. 🤠💕

I may have had an accident with a tree and came off the horse not long after taming it. it is possible to get on another horse run around it a bunch and jump back on to the MFT but its an absolute pain

This is super helpful! , I left the stable with the MFT but it wouldn't respond to my commands or let me get back on so I started to panick a little😅

Great video, but I still find it a lot easier to use the shooting method near Moon Stone pond. The horse can be spawned there infinitely through out the game.

Works as of 12/11/2023. Problem is I got the horse and accidentally dismounted 🤦‍♀️ Ended up getting it again though. Make sure to turn autosave off before you do this mission in case you mess it up. Took me so many tries, hope this helps: 1. Park your horse behind Albert and tell it to “stay” 2. Take his horse and go to the wild horses 3. As you are driving them back, right before they run to the photographer, get close to him, dismount his horse and run to him so you are literally on top of him before the cutscene. 4. Skip cutscene 5. Run after pinto on your horse you parked Note: You cannot bond with the horse and if you dismount even after stabling it, you can’t get back on. So restart the game and all is good. 👍

I spent FIVE hours doing the tracking method and then part of it was just trying to get to jump on her (she ran all the way to Annesburg//there was also an incident with the damn mountain lion). To see what you have done in five minutes? I take my hat off to you, sir, phenomenal job! What did you end up naming her?

Wow, 5 hours. That’s true dedication. A little trick that would help you jump on her back is to go into eagle eye when you’re next to her to slow everything down. And I typically don’t name my horses, so I didn’t name her.

I fel off a few times lost the horse, then a woman ask me to take her back town. Her horse just died, was the silver dapple pinto!!! Made a picture to prove it.

Right on. I got mine using the spot outside Sant Dennis by the weird hat shop. Respawning over and over. I’ll give this a try on my next play through man.

Yeah it doesn't seem to work for me i have tried 8 times or more the hours simply disappear once they hit the first set of trees

I got it to work today took me about 8 tries around an hour almost gave up lol, but it is a fine horse.

Here’s some advice : - MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR GAME BEFORE STARTING THE MISSION, in case anything goes wrong. It took me a dozen attempts to finally get the horse, so i was happy I took that precaution. - Managing to jump on the horse can take a LOT of time. Make sure you launch the mission early in the morning, so you don’t have to chase the horse during night time through the fog. - Follow every indication given in the video to save time. It’s crucial to be extremely fast. If the horses are already out of view when you get off your horse to launch the second cutscene, you won’t catch up with them. - Try not to chase the horse at full gallop all the time, or it’ll just get away from you (and you’ll likely hit a tree or trample the horse and fall). Once you see it slow down, approach slowly and try to get close enough to jump. - As others have already said, DON’T get off the horse after you’ve tamed it. - Even if it takes time, don’t give up ! You’ll get closer each try and it’s a unique chance to get this horse. It honestly looks beautiful with Arthur on it. So persevere and it will work.

even after taming, and saddling it at a stable and giving it a name, YOU CAN NEVER GET BACK ON THE HORSE.

Thank you so much for this! I am on my fifth playthrough and that's the first time I managed to get that horse. I've tried all other methods and gave up, because I was sick of replaying that mission. This time it worked on the first try, I just had to trap the horse between some trees. It also seems like the perfect one for Arthur, because that's the only horse he was so excited about.

Thanks to this tutorial I finally get this horse for about 5 tries! I've got her on 2nd try but after I rode her a bit, I pressed the dismount button before the bonding icon showed up and it makes me cannot mount her up! A bit suggestion, when you bring her to the stable and saddled her up, save the game then reload the save file because in my experience you cannot mount her after you dismount if you not reload the save file.

Yep that’s what I said in the video. You have to reload the save file. Glad you were able to get the horse.

why bother when you can only have 4 horses... 5 if you keep around a temporary horse you can't even put a saddle on it... I'd love to be able to have 3 different ones in each stable... then it would make more sense to me to expend my time looking for horses... great video tho...

Doesn’t work for me 01/21/24. I position my horse the same in the video but he ends up behind me and by the time I run to him the horses are out of site and I can’t find them. ☹️

I just got it to work today, maybe try leaving your horse a little further away than in the video, I had to do that atleast

You're the goat! Got it on my first try, but it was indeed a long first try. Horse got me chasing her for all of new Hanover, and the first time I managed to jump on her it was right next to an enemy camp, wasn't paying attention and it buck me, got it on the third chance, talk about third time's the charm 😅

Thank you so much, I've got the platinum trophy for this game and decided I wanted to do another playthrough but seeing as i've used all of the Arabian horses so many times I wanted something new. None of the other tutorials would work for me as I've already helped the Lady who's horse had died. The Horse definitely put up a fight, don't think I've ever struggled so much to break a horse in my 800 hrs playing this game. Now all I need to come up with is a name for this horse!!

To the person who made this video thank you, followed ur instructions and got her on my first try took me ages to chase her down to jump on her back but once I done that and took her to a stables saddled her up saved it and reloaded worked like a treat cheers for that mate

Thank you so much, the specific tip to break off from the herd and run straight for Albert to get ahead is genius and I think is the ultimate little step to making it easy to catch up to it. I got the horse within like a minute and a half, jumped on it pretty easily and got it tamed.

Thank you! I got this today 23 April after multiple attempts. The key to the horses staying in game was getting to Albert before the horses did. Then trying to jump onto the Trotter got me in a sweat 😂 then I got bucked off twice! But third time lucky. Followed all instructions and now it’s mine! Love it thank you I’m only chapter two first play though 😊
