Best Stealth All Black GShock - Casio GBD-200 review

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The GBD-200 is without a shadow of doubt the best stealth all black Gshock watch out there. The negative MIP display compliments the all black look and feel of this great wrist watch. If you're after that all black look... this watch will 100% deliver

I've had mine for about a year and I see NO reason whatsoever to change for another watch. This is a watch that I can use its light at night when I wake up, not have my glasses on and still easily read it. I use its vibration alarm twice a day on week days. I don't even use its smart phone features because the watch itself is about as perfect as it comes for my needs. The battery life is phenomenal. It looks great and works great.

Great watches I have this one, and recently bought the GBX-100KI-1 Kanoa Igarashi edition, which is almost black with some sand style print on the black bezel, and some extra functions. I love the MIP display, very good visibility. But I don't use the Bluetooth functionality so much. I would prefer the multi band radio syncing, and solar power. I still have the G-7800 model which is very similar to the gbx, a full dot matrix negative display, and the most customizable module. Even the font can be changed, and more. But they discontinued, and that module never appeared in another watch.

What a div! Thanks for the heads up. I'll add a note in the description 😆 Me too with the Mudman MIP. My guess is there's more behind the screen to fit in, or the additional layer over the screen wouldn't have worked for the digital compass. I hope they work it out soon. I think if they can shrink down the bezel around the MIP screen to make it larger and take up more of the face, plus work out how to drop in tough solar that would be awesome. I'd also be down for recharging too as long as they didn't through in the kitchen sink too. I'm happy with a simple watch with a larger MIP screen

The app connects slow, even the watch options without the app is bad. If you want to use the stopwatch and reset the stopwatch back to zero, it takes to much and is super slow (Exactly as you showed at 15:40) other than that it's a nice watch, but I don't really use the smart/Bluetooth unless I'm lazy when I'm switching the 2 timezones

I think this would be great for a soldier. It's a very robust watch. The only downside might be the battery. Most GShocks have a 10 year battery where as this is only 2 years. If you're out on a exercise and it goes that won't be good. Try the GW-M5610U out instead. The nicest looking Square for me. Modernized and simplified that makes it an even better option for your everyday wear. However, the buttons are pure trash. Casios half this price with larger buttons like this responds better. Makes me wonder if the value is in the MIP display and cut cost on build quality.

Hi buddy, hope you're well. Yes, I'm think you're probably right. I think with the other colours this might have been designed to be more of a youth marketed wrist watch... or that ultra athlete where the extra 5grams on their wrist will put them off balance 😆 They've started to make more MIP display watches and the price is a wee bit more inflated. I think the struggle may be the battery life on the MIP watches. With it only being a few years Casio are trying to include other features like smart watches, plus the ability to recharge them. Personally I'd be happy with a traditional Square, with a MIP display, better buttons, and not gimmicks like bluetooth or phone connectivity. A nice simple dumb wrist watch that works and is indestructible. Hopefully the more they make and manufacturing processes get ironed out, the price of the MIP displays will come down with price

My major issue is the 4 buttons. First, for both G-Shocks I have, one needs to engage one’s finger nail. Then, at times you really need to push very hard to get a button press. These buttons look different, but can you completely use the flesh of your fingertip? Do you have to press them very hard to get the press?

Yes, kinda, but there's a few more piece of tech in there too. It'll count steps, cadence, activity with a accelerometer in there too. I've tested this against a GPS watch and it's reasonably accurate is you're a dad-bod runner like me. I've compared to the same GPR data on some runs and it can be anything between 100m to 500m out when it guesses the distance (you have to put in your height, weight, sex and age). It's not good for a professional runner however Ok for most people. Same with swimming. It'll count f your stroke, lengths etc and probably guess your distance from your biometric data. It's definitely not a Garmin Forerunner watch. It's missing a lot of their features however it's also half the price Hope that helps. All my best buddy 👍

This could've been a great review but there are so many things you got wrong... 1) The GBD-200 famously does NOT go down to milliseconds, while almost every other digital stopwatch DOES. 2) The top-left button is not a mode- or function-switcher, or a fitness tracking page. It simply cycles through various display faces that a user could select and set on a (semi-)permanent basis, based on what info is most important to them. That's why the 'back' button doesn't work here. 3) The 3rd display face is OBVIOUSLY not a sunset-sunrise screen. It's a dual time-zone display, so it's definitely not out of place. The missing sunrise-sunset/moon/tide info is the ONLY difference between the modules of the GBD-200 and GBX-100, as you should've pointed out. 4) Only a child would have the incredibly foolish notion that using 12-hour time makes you a child. That was pretty cringey. 5) If most of your review is a shot of the watch face, maybe shoot under open sky and avoid the reflection of the tree-tops constantly obscuring the screen. Bunch of other minor stuff that I won't get into. I've never even held this watch, and I could spot all this. You could've at least understood the product and avoided the inaccurate info. I don't enjoy being mean on the internet, sir, but this was a lazy review.

Noted, I'll try and do better in the future. I do admit there's often small details I mix up purely by accident. My reading skills aren't the best do I try and remember all the details. The 12 hrs comment is a nod to an earlier piece of content made and a running joke. It's meant to be 'cringe' as most of my US watchers enjoy the banter. I don't have a studio style set up and always try my best stop the reflection of the sky. I'll try harder in future. Thanks for the feedback 🤙
