Best States For Roller Coasters - Part Three (#30-#21)

Фильм және анимация

Those that have known me for the last 7 years know I have, obviously, grown obsessed with roller coasters. Those than have known me for the last 25-30 years? They know I have always loved geography! Especially the unique differences and intricacies of the 50 states here in the US. Therefore, it was always inevitable that I would one day produce content combining the two. Over a series of 5 videos, join me as I rank all 50 states based on how good their specific roller coaster collection is! It for sure won't be based on quantity alone, when in actuality, there will be way more emphasis on quality. Episode 3 covers states #30-#21, all of them having at least one amusement park and roller coaster of significance, most of them multiple! We getting to the good stuff now :) Enjoy!!

    As a Michigan resident, it's a shame that Michigan's Adventure hasn't gotten a new coaster this millennium. That said, the park is a really nice family park visited mostly by locals and it fills that role very well. For the enthusiasts, we have Cedar Point, Kings Island, Canada's Wonderland, and SFGAm all within easy driving distance, so there's no shortage of big coasters nearby. That's likely a big part of why Michigan's Adventure doesn't get much investment; it already does what it needs to do well and there is already a fat portfolio of great parks nearby which are generally more accessible to the majority of people, 3/4 of which are other Cedar Fair parks.

    It’s a fair point, and I would absolutely bet that is a reason why they don’t get investments. But when it’s been 25 years, not 10, that’s just way too long

    I think people kind of sleep on New Hampshire because it's out of the way for so many enthusiasts. Canobie Lake Park is effectively Metro Boston's home park (and definitely my home park) as you say, and Story Land absolutely put itself on the map for enthusiasts with Roar-O-Saurus, though it had been a charming theme park for families with young kids for a long time. Can't speak to Santa's Village because I never got up there--it sounds like they've got a couple of decent family coasters, and some seem to prefer it to Story Land as a kiddie park, but it's quite a drive. As for CT, I love Compounce and need to get down there again sometime. Boulder Dash had gotten so painfully rough the last time I rode it that I actually enjoyed Phobia Phear Coaster much more (I thought Phobia was great). But I hope the retracking they've been doing on Boulder Dash improves that situation at least a bit. And I want to try out the reborn Wildcat--I never dared ride it before, it had such a bad reputation. Their Vekoma Boomerang is even not bad.

    I would put Idaho ahead of Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Maryland. Silverwood is just that good. Especially their top 4. Glad that to see a certain state didn't get placed in the 21-30 slot and that the top ride carried it into at least the 11-20 spot.

  • @coaster365

    @coaster365

    2 ай бұрын

    I actually debated those 4 quite heavily. My call to put Idaho below those was yes, it’s probably the best park of anywhere in those 4 states, but it’s Idaho’s ONLY park. So there’s not as many park/coaster options as there are in the other 3

    Fun fact Hades has been retracked. The park just seems to do ZERO in house work on it so it just goes to… well… Hades very quickly. They also only pay for the barest minimum version of retracking they can. Don’t expect Gravity Group Prefab anytime soon.
