    Great collab! I gotta admit I like the Sandisk more because of the looks. 😉 The future proofness of the T5 kinda makes the sandisk look more viable. How did you set up this video? The background blends into the table. That looks so dope. 🤯 I would love to see a BTS of that. 👌

    Hi, I tested the 1TB-E61 with Kondor Blue cable. 6K@50/3:1 with fully charged internal battery go up to 31 min before stop recording. On Q0 is just from 15s to 40s, Q1 go up to 6:40. I pretty happy with the results, it is the same as you shared at 3:1. Maybe I would take more E60's, these are more cheaper.

    @@AnotherCameraChannel I don't think so. At 6K/50p 3:1-5:1 we have the same results. For Q0 need from 450 up to 875MB/s and the USB 3.1 gen1 is limited on 625MB/s. Depending on what you capture, if cross the limitation get dopped frames. Cable can't be an issue, because tested this Condor Blue USB-C, just the same as Thunderbolt cable, peak the max write of the E61, about 900MB/s. cheers

    I use the 1 Terabyte Samsung 970 EVO Plus 'NVMe SSD' in a USB enclosure. $135 CAD I ordered the 2 Terabyte version, plus another ORICO NVMe USB enclosure. $195 CAD Mounted horizontally below the Lilliput A5 field monitor on the front of the MagicRig top handle. The blue SSD light illuminates when powered and blinks when I'm filming. A very useful indicator.

    My T5 never stopped recording even 6k Q0. Q0 max bandwidth is 482MB/s, T5 can write 520MB/s. But it's true for 1TB version. Sandisk v2 shouldn't have a problem to write 6k Q0 too ... it's rated 1000MB/s write. Although not sure how fast usb port in bmpcc 6k is.

    I haven't tested it in a long time but I'd say the E60 can be used for ATEM Mini Pro ISO, but maybe use a E61 for the ATEM Extreme ISO. I can't remember if I used an E60 with the Extreme ISO when doing an 8 input recording or not, so maybe stick to the additional bandwidth anyway of the E61, helps with editing later too!

    HI, Nice analysis! Just wondered you told the E81 can record any type of constant bitrate, because a lot of people discussed about the 3.1 type-C on the P6K. If it works well, must be going than with the E61 too? The type-C 3.1 is moving around a 500Mbps limit. I think the E61 sufficient to reach the connector limit, the E81 I mean absolutly overkill :) I just ordered the P6K pro today, waiting for it and I think I choose the E61. Once you record 5: 1, it's also enjoyable. I support you for a thousand subscribers ;)

    @@AnotherCameraChannel This would be cool, really interested, because need to order one of them. I did some research, the BMPCC 6K/P has a USB 3.1 GEN1, which max bitrate is 5gbps=625MB/s in optimal case. I think with the E61 must have the same results as E80/81. If is not the same as Samsung T5/T7, where the T7 can't work well because of the Cache system.

    I've used the Sandisk one and I have a 2 TB drive. At a 3.1 compression and 48 bit rate, did not see any issue for a continous recording test of 60 minutes. A similar test on Samsung T7 stopped within 15 to 20 seconds due to dropped frames. I've carried similar tests on the Sandisk one for 5.1, 8.1 and 12.1 and never experience an issue with either of 24 or 48 frames. Also noticed that the Samsung T7 was heating up much sooner than the Sandisk one. Maybe the non metallic touch on the Sandisk prevented this ? Based on my tests, I'd always prefer the Sandisk SSD over Samsung T7. Although I have not tried the more popular T5 model.

    I have a SanDisk 2TB and whenever I try to record my 4k or 6k Pro won't record and all buttons freeze. The camera becomes inoperable. I have to turn it off and back on to use any function and resort to recording on my SD card. Have you heard of that issue? I'm trying to figure out how I can get it to work. Also when I try to format on the camera, it gets stuck in the formatting loop and never stops. I'm also able to use and format it on my computer. Idk what to do lol.

    I wish I would have seen this video before ordering a 2TB Samsung T5 last night. I already have various of these SanDisk SSDs around the house, but since Blackmagic doesn't list them as officially supported drives, I figured, I'd just be safe and order another Samsung T5. With the T5 being discontinued, do you happen to know if the T7 is/will be a viable option for the future?

  • @AnotherCameraChannel

    @AnotherCameraChannel

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you plug in an SSD into the ATEM Pro then it will record whatever the ATEM Pro ‘Program Out’ is. Using an ATEM Mini Pro ISO you can record all 4 inputs regardless of what the ‘Program Out’ is. If you have SSD/Memory cards in your cameras, and if the cameras can get the record signal from the ATEM they will also record too! (Both with the Pro & Pro ISO) Sometimes if you have an external monitor in between the ATEM and the Camera it won’t get the record signal. 👍

  • @AnotherCameraChannel

    No problem! The ATEM Mini Pro won’t record anything in BRAW though. You’d get a maximum of an 1920x1080 H.264 file from the ‘Program Out’ You can change the quality of the recording in the ATEM settings. The ATEM just records what it gets over HDMI.

    @@AnotherCameraChannel I wish I had the money to try everything! I worry that the reason there is so little info out there is because... they don't really work. Or it's just because people THINK it won't work and don't want to waste the money. Hmm. But ok.. I'm not usually a numbers guy but I'm trying to do the numbers on all this: 6K BRAW 3:1 = 323 MB/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Port = 625 MB/s Samsung T5 USB 3.1 = 540 MB/s SanDisk USB 3.1 = 550 MB/s SanDisk USB 3.2 = 1050 MB/s (doesn't matter) Can't Forget: USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 Cable = 625 MB/s USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable = 1250 MB/s (doesn't matter) Soooooo... on paper, the BMPCC 6K Pro can record and send out 6K BRAW 3:1 over it's USB-C Gen 1 port, through a USB-C Gen 1 cable with plenty of overhead... and record onto either the T5 or SanDisk still with plenty of overhead. I suppose it comes down to how long either can SUSTAIN those speeds for long non-stop recordings and constant on/off clips over a long period of time without much break between each clip... and perhaps overheating? And if ALL THAT is true so far, than an M.2 with a whopping speed of 3500 MB/s should be such overkill that overhead would be a dang skyscraper and could POTENTIALLY be futureproof to bring over to newer BMPCC models that I'd hope would upgrade to USB C 3.2.

    M.2 is not so easy. You need a good case which keep the drive cool + the controller of the case is also a delicate question. Another problem is the power consumption if you run with normal battery.
