I'm choosing additional accessories for my Hero 8, which I'm using for B-roll in my channel's videos, and with so many options to choose from this has been extremely helpful. This is the first of your videos I've watched, and I'm looking forward to checking out more of your content.

    Love the behind the chain shot. I really haven't seen it too much in more newer videos. I'm surprised as it really adds that drama when you are going hard or changing gears would be a cool add to the rest of the regular chest/helmet/handlebar mount shots.

    This was very helpful Kyle. Thank you! I recently purchased a GoPro specifically to capture amazing footage when on my vacations. I’ll be taking a bike tour in Paris soon, and while it is somewhat important to get some shots of myself in the video, I would mostly like to capture the beautiful architecture and the other bikers. Which angle would you suggest? I’m intrigued by the angle behind the pedal, but I’m interested in how that would look had you had jeans on. I know this video is pretty old. Do you have an updated version with more angles to this video?

    I have my GP4 Hero black mounted upside down underneath the bars with auto-orientation enabled so the picture is the right way up (easily fixed in post anyway). So, my ride view is of the road ahead (wide angle), a little bit of the front wheel and my right hand side brake. July 1st this year - It paid for itself. Guy pulled across a road, directly in front of me to drive into a side road. Result was myself doing a full flip over the front of the car and a big clatter on the road. £3000 of bike - Ended and the usual sprained wrist, road rash, tissue injuries etc. etc. Cam evidence provided irrefutable evidence of the drivers 100% liability.

    Nice useful video as most "where to mount your GoPro on the bike videos" are about mountain biking. Good to see you are using aluminum mounts as the stock plastic GoPro (handle bar/seat post) mounts are super unstable due to the vibrations. TIP! Use Garmin Virb Edit, GoPro videos and your GPS track in order to make the videos more interesting with the GPS data overlay (lost of cycling examples in my channel if you are interested). Keep up the good work!

    Not being able to locate much about rear rack mounting via searches on the internet leads me to believe there is not enough of a demand/inquiries about it to makers of mounts and/or it's the case that it would not be great due to lack of stable shots and few if any companies would think to make one. I'm honestly a bit surprised but not that surprised if the latter is very much true. One other bit I can think of is most people running racks use the limited space at the rear/center part of a rack, available for mounting for something like a light in that spot where a camera would most likely go. Not sure though. I'm fairly certain it's possible to rig something that is not overly involved but I'm not knowledgeable enough to do that.

  • @CreativeRamy
    @CreativeRamy4 жыл бұрын

    Best thing is probably have at least 3 GoPros connected to a remote to start and stop recording and then you'll be able to get 3 different angles at the same time, saving you time too, yes it's a little more expensive but you'll be able to do timely cuts nicely.

    I don't capture any part of the camera on my helmet mount in my video but that is because I want people to see the scenery and the trail I am on not the pavement and some shadow of my helmet. That is just boring and why do people think you need to have shadow of you camera on your head. No thanks. I have people tell me they prefer seeing the scenery more than my few shots of my shadow with the camera shadow in it. I agree with them. But I do have some videos like yours here but I just stopped doing it and just show the trail or road and scenery etc. Chest mounts are great like you said. Great video! Nice work. Peace.

    what is the best way to mount a gopro with gps? it appears the receiver antenna is mounted on top so if you use the chestmount or any mount where the camera is upside down you cannot use gps overlays in the video editor later. i find the helmet mount sticks out too much and for aero handle bars (wide, flat, carbon) you probably need to use a regular helmet flat mount with tape underneath right?

    It would depend on the size of your stem. I think it should fit, the mount is good for 22.2 to 35mm. If you check the your stem and if it fits it should work, although the angle may not be the best. If you really want to mount on the stem you may be better off to look at something like the K-Edge Combo Mount

    Sadly because of the angle that the cameras capture the best angle is the chest mount with the camera upside down to get the center angle. This is why a drone with a decent camera blows way any bike mount points.

    They need to make a chesty for fatties. You have to be pretty thin with boy shoulders to wear that thing. I ended up getting a helmet mount. This was a really helpful video though. I wonder if you could get some sort of mount to mount it on your top tube to get the bars and the shot.

    I would be better to have a pole that extends above you and use a 360 camera instead..
