My friend thank you so much for the chest advice I’ve been struggling with that angle for a long time. Thanks for the trick you help a guy from Colombia, a land where cycling is the sport that most happiness has given to our people 🚵🏾♂️🥰🇨🇴
Thank you for this overview! I'm choosing additional accessories for my Hero 8, which I'm using for B-roll in my channel's videos, and with so many options to choose from this has been extremely helpful. This is the first of your videos I've watched, and I'm looking forward to checking out more of your content.
I was searching for 2 weeks on KZread on how to mount for roadbiking. This is the best I've found so far. The helmet and chest mount make the most sense. I just wish you showed your placement on the helmet as you had for all your other mounts.
Thank you for sharing! Great video. I just got a GoPro Hero9 for my birthday to use for ice-skating. And now for biking. 😊 love the mule mount. The chest mount upside-down is a very cool tip! Love it.
when u said about the chest bit turning camera upside down then put it in ur a genius thanks bro. i thought chest one was gonna be horrible view looking down and not up to see more scenery. thanks g.
Thank you for the tips!! It is really useful, i’ve been looking for this
Love the behind the chain shot. I really haven't seen it too much in more newer videos. I'm surprised as it really adds that drama when you are going hard or changing gears would be a cool add to the rest of the regular chest/helmet/handlebar mount shots.
Nice comprehensive overview of locations, I've used most, but still some new ones that could be used for variety, thanks! (even after some years 🙂)
Nice tips & very informative, thank you.
This is a very interesting video, I didn't think about half of these mounting locations and the example videos were extremely helpful
Thank YOU for making this video! This was so well made and so useful, it will help me a lot!
Thanks for the tips for chest mount ... that's what I was looking for. Thanks
This looks like the Columbia River Gorge! Great cycling up there!!
This is very good, full of useful and empirical tips
Thank you very much for video! Helped a lot!
This was very helpful Kyle. Thank you! I recently purchased a GoPro specifically to capture amazing footage when on my vacations. I’ll be taking a bike tour in Paris soon, and while it is somewhat important to get some shots of myself in the video, I would mostly like to capture the beautiful architecture and the other bikers. Which angle would you suggest? I’m intrigued by the angle behind the pedal, but I’m interested in how that would look had you had jeans on. I know this video is pretty old. Do you have an updated version with more angles to this video?
Great vid, fantastic advice.
Derailer gear change action!?? thanks for the tips, working on video atm of assembly of custom built MB. (by peacock groove) I'm hoping to capture some action shots of the client, when the bike is delivered.
The uspside down trick is clever. Thanks I'll try it ;)
Really liked the video. Professional and to the point with examples of each position. I particularly liked the chest mount idea - never thought of turning the mount upside down... Thanks.

@@federicovega2292 I'm now too. I don't think there's a way to see what you're recording. Probably you need to take your 5-10 minutes to frame the scene correctly by making several attempts (recording a few seconds a position and see what position works good enough).

Some good info here. I just started using a stem cap mount and really like the view it gives with the bars and my out front mounted Garmin in shot.

+Chris Rich oh cool, that sounds like a really neat angel. It seems like that would solve the problem of the handlebar mount not getting your hands in the shot
I was looking for alternatives to helmet and chest mount - later being the angle was always too low, until i saw you just flip the gopro upside down and totally fixing the angle issue xDD OMG, Thank you so much!!!
thanks. great explanation. from Indonesia
Around 5:10. Got a mount for my phone (don't have a GoPro) and I was filming downards (since I was leaning on the handlebars, obviously... Never considered putting the damn thing the other way around. Big thx for point out the obvious man.
This video really help me a lot !!
Amazing share! Thank you!!
Great viseo Kyle! What do you recomnend for audio?
Chest mount! Great!... one question...I see some vids with the speed dashboard on the vid... how is that done?
Great stuff mate !
how would you mount a long selfie stick to the front..? and have it aimed back at you to encompass the entire bike and rider. (as if a person is riding in front of you videoing you from a seat mount.
Nice and thx. Your video is very helpful to me..
great video ! thanks.
Well done. You've done a super job making this video - it answered all my questions.

where do you get the rubber to go underneath the mount so it does not scratch up your seat post and handlebars?
Such a good video
Is there a tighter version of the first mount. I have a normal street bike with a handlebar which has a smaller diameter. Is there a mount for this? In your video your handlebar has a big diameter.
Cool! Really helpful 🚴♂️👍
Hi. Can i use the seatstay mount on the front fork?
Is there a gopro GPS mount that doesn't pick up as much of the rumbling vibration and more of the external sound clearly?
Any mounts that would work in a aerobar ? Where I live you rarely see a bike with out a aerobar
I also like to mount the GoPro on the stem rather than the handlebar. Then you can see both hands and the shot is more stable, as the turning radius is smaller.
Hello, where can I buy the mount mentioned at 3:00 minute mark?
Great video, thx
Chest mount the best. Forget the rest. 🚴♀️
does it matter if i mount it over the break cables on the handle bar?
That's really neat! I'm an AK amputee after a couple years. I started riding again and want to start a KZread channel. Would be cool to capture my prosthetic 🦿
Is there any handlebar mount that can compensate for vibration?
Could only focus on the bar tape: is it grey or dirty?
What gopro were you using on your sample position video?
Looks like a beautiful place to ride!

It is a great spot. This is down in the Columbia Gorge just east of Portland Oregon.
what about the wrist mount? How good or bad is that?
excellent, thank you!!
Solid mounts
I loved the chest mount, till I went over the bar and scratched the lens pretty bad!
How can I mount it in chest??
Your bartape is masterpiece sir
I have my GP4 Hero black mounted upside down underneath the bars with auto-orientation enabled so the picture is the right way up (easily fixed in post anyway). So, my ride view is of the road ahead (wide angle), a little bit of the front wheel and my right hand side brake. July 1st this year - It paid for itself. Guy pulled across a road, directly in front of me to drive into a side road. Result was myself doing a full flip over the front of the car and a big clatter on the road. £3000 of bike - Ended and the usual sprained wrist, road rash, tissue injuries etc. etc. Cam evidence provided irrefutable evidence of the drivers 100% liability.
I like it thanks
there is a handlebar bracket upgrade with a cam mount on it
Nice useful video as most "where to mount your GoPro on the bike videos" are about mountain biking. Good to see you are using aluminum mounts as the stock plastic GoPro (handle bar/seat post) mounts are super unstable due to the vibrations. TIP! Use Garmin Virb Edit, GoPro videos and your GPS track in order to make the videos more interesting with the GPS data overlay (lost of cycling examples in my channel if you are interested). Keep up the good work!

+Leevi21 oh nice good call!
Wow nice neighborhood
Not being able to locate much about rear rack mounting via searches on the internet leads me to believe there is not enough of a demand/inquiries about it to makers of mounts and/or it's the case that it would not be great due to lack of stable shots and few if any companies would think to make one. I'm honestly a bit surprised but not that surprised if the latter is very much true. One other bit I can think of is most people running racks use the limited space at the rear/center part of a rack, available for mounting for something like a light in that spot where a camera would most likely go. Not sure though. I'm fairly certain it's possible to rig something that is not overly involved but I'm not knowledgeable enough to do that.
Best thing is probably have at least 3 GoPros connected to a remote to start and stop recording and then you'll be able to get 3 different angles at the same time, saving you time too, yes it's a little more expensive but you'll be able to do timely cuts nicely.
what location did you ride the bike in the sample videos? its beautiful

Omg I love you for that
No front fork mount?
I don't capture any part of the camera on my helmet mount in my video but that is because I want people to see the scenery and the trail I am on not the pavement and some shadow of my helmet. That is just boring and why do people think you need to have shadow of you camera on your head. No thanks. I have people tell me they prefer seeing the scenery more than my few shots of my shadow with the camera shadow in it. I agree with them. But I do have some videos like yours here but I just stopped doing it and just show the trail or road and scenery etc. Chest mounts are great like you said. Great video! Nice work. Peace.
very good
what is the best way to mount a gopro with gps? it appears the receiver antenna is mounted on top so if you use the chestmount or any mount where the camera is upside down you cannot use gps overlays in the video editor later. i find the helmet mount sticks out too much and for aero handle bars (wide, flat, carbon) you probably need to use a regular helmet flat mount with tape underneath right?

I got Chinese Garmin style mount with a gopro mount underneath it from Aliexpress for about $12 works pretty decent but picks up vibrations like all mounts I've seen
Liked the video! An advantage of rear mounting is that you've got video evidence in the event you're run off the road, etc. I know GoPros are aimed toward "action," but I've found they're super handy if you ever need proof that that guy in the truck really did try to run you off the road. :(

He starts talking about mounting the camera on the back of the bike under the seat WITH A SMALL BAG ATTACHED. But when he attaches it, voila! The bag is gone! How do you suggest mounting the rear-facing camera while still keeping the bag in place for small tools?!?!
I wish I knew you could flip the mount upside down
When I use the handlebar mount I get a lot of bouncing in the video, I've tightened the clamp as much as I could but the camera tilts down as well when I hit rough spots in the road, any suggestions? What am I doing wrong? One of topic question, anybody ever tell you look like a grown up Bobby Brady?

same has happened to mine but it's ussually because it's not fully tightened mabye . try taking it off and put back on
I like this video
Hey Kyle, love your videos! So I'm a 3D designer and always looking for a mount/adapter that will help GoPro users to improve their cycling mounting options. Do you have any that you wish existed but don't? I'm ordering a session to do some testing with, and am in the tweaking stages of a super-aero handlebar mount for racers or people that only want that forward angle. Let me know if you're interested in chatting!
I can't use a chest mount. My body moves too much left to right as I pedal, it's a horrible shot. It's obviously strapped to my torso so I have no way to make it stationary, it's too bad because it's a good view and less bumpy from the road beneath me. Get rid of 1 problem create another
Can you use the handlebar mount on the stem?
@kylemartin101
6 жыл бұрын
It would depend on the size of your stem. I think it should fit, the mount is good for 22.2 to 35mm. If you check the your stem and if it fits it should work, although the angle may not be the best. If you really want to mount on the stem you may be better off to look at something like the K-Edge Combo Mount
At 2:50, it is on the seat stay not the chain stay. Thanks for the tips.
L bracket (with holes) on quick release scewer gets better shots than your seat stay mount and costs a fraction of the price. Also you can buy one strap mount and use it on any tube. You don't need that many mounts.

Sadly because of the angle that the cameras capture the best angle is the chest mount with the camera upside down to get the center angle. This is why a drone with a decent camera blows way any bike mount points.
Let's put our mount inside the rear wheel to give our video a spinning sensation

They need to make a chesty for fatties. You have to be pretty thin with boy shoulders to wear that thing. I ended up getting a helmet mount. This was a really helpful video though. I wonder if you could get some sort of mount to mount it on your top tube to get the bars and the shot.
