Nice selection. Glad you included synths. Especially liked amp bass/guitar and layered eps. Great stereo effects from this keyboard. Intrigued but not completely sold on vocal synthesis, but it seems like a good tool for crafting lyrics.

Sounds great, especially didn't expect these amazing pro synth sounds...even with filters!! Wonderful demo man... I wonder if you would find the piano voices of CT-S1 in the exact same quality also in this model?

The CT-S1, CT-S500 & CT-S1000V all use Casio's AIX sound source technology to generate their tones as do the CT-X3000 & CT-X5000. I think I'm right in saying that there are fewer choices of piano patches on the CT-S1 than on the S500/1000V. Some of the differences of the piano sounds on the S1/ 500 / 1000V are quite subtle tbh. The CT-S1 has no pitch bend wheel and has only 61 preset sounds / patches in total (you cannot change the sound like on the 500 / 1000V). That being said you can hear subtle differences in 'brightness' between different AIX keyboards, check out Stewart Wallace's comparison of the CT-S1000V & his CT-X3000 here on YT. I guess it all comes down to your budget and whether you want to change & store your own sounds like on the S500 / S1000V / X3000 / X5000 or apply different DSP FX. I happily own a S1, S1000V & CT-X3000 and they all offer something different, although if you pushed me to choose I'd probably pick the 1000 because it is more portable than the 3000 even if there are less DSP FX. The choice is yours.

Most of my collection is synths and not home keyboards, but I wanted something that sounded like an excellent emulation of a piano. Blame it on Robert Miles (rest his soul). It's got the Mellotron flute on it too as a bonus. Queue Strawberry Fields...

Sorry for the latency. Recorded by the line out (stereo). Sax sounds are the normal one like in every keyboard of this price range.

I have heard that the best way to record or for live performance to get the best sound is to run the 6.35mm outputs to a DI box and XLR output to your audio interface/PA, then hard pan the L/R.

Yes, I think the vocoder, talkbox and the choir is really great. For more choirs: You can create you own and store them into the keyboard.

Is the mixing board above the Casio ct-s1000v something separate that we can buy and attach to the keyboard? I saw the Casio ct-s1000v in a store as well as online and I have never seen it with the mixing board.

This is just my DAW-Mixer, you don‘t need this.

What do you think of the speakers on this model? Are they good and powerful enough that there is no distortion in a reasonable volume range?

Speaker system is powerful for this small system. But of cause it will be distorted if you go over 4 pm.

The app is only to prepare you vocal „words“, after storing into the keyboard you don’t need the app anymore
