What are some of the best shmups from the 16-bit era? Stay tuned to find out!
Some of the games in this video do not match such as PC engine games stated as Turbografx and so on, but I feel that most people will play these games on emulation anyway. Also, I see the systems as the same since they are technically the same hardware in a different shell. With that said there is a mistake on Strikers 1945 Plus, the announcer says one player and the graphic says two players. It is in fact two players, but I didn’t feel like another hour re-rendering again.

I played R-Type III with the SNES Advantage Stick and I set the thing to Auto-Fire Max Repeats and let the ship Idle... dude... the Game literally beats itself. I need to do a video on this, the only other game I know set on idle that beats itself is the GBA Atlus Joint (Belgian Dev Team) Super Army War. Which also deserves a video...

"Awesome" is the name of an awesome Amiga shmup 🙂 The ST port is great as well.
Apidya never heard of it looks pretty decent commodore 64 had some decent shoot em ups but man the nostalgia here wow

What do you say I make a Response video to this? where I watch your video, then I make my Top 5 16-bit shooters that I think are better than the Bottom 5 of your list... because, you know, I'm your buddy and stuff..
Nothing major but one inaccuracy would be Thunderforce IV was the Mega Drive title and it was Lightning Force on the Sega Genesis

Sega CD had so much wasted potential
great list and nice to see some Amiga games here. but instead of Agony, which is a beautiful but not a good game, you should've include Disposable Hero or Banshee for the Amiga both are class and are far better than the 8 bit game with 16 bit gfx that is Agony. other than that top selection!

Technically yes But it is still part of the 16 bit era.

If I ever have children, I'm going to force them to watch old cartoons and play old games first and make them earn their way up to newer stuff.

Yeah but if you shown the old stuff 1st then they probably won't want the new stuff especially the cartoons
