Best Running 2-stroke 300 Engine? 2024 Beta 300 Race Edition Review
Crazy good weather for February in Ohio (63F!) so rode my 2024 Beta 300 Race Edition. This dual plug 300 engine from Beta might be the best running 2-stroke I've ridden to date. Smooth broad and clean running power with a simple carburetor and mechanical power valve! Dual spark plugs liven up the low to mid engine response and torque feel. The updated 300 Race Edition engine builds RPM's slightly quicker with very smooth and controllable power and runs super clean. Updated seat is noticeably better (softer and more comfortable) than the 2023 300 Race Edition seat. Maxxis tires are DOT approved and OK in dry condition but not so in softer conditions. KYB suspension feels good right off the showroom floor in today's soft/slippery trail conditions. I was a little worried about the stuffer frame feeling more rigid but never noticed today and the tire contact patch feedback was good (I could notice the marginal traction of the Maxxis tires). Need to get it on a motocross track to see if the new frame changes the handling feel, especially in the dry hard pack type bumps. First impressions of the updated dual spark plug engine are very good! Beta Rideability!

Glad you like the channel! TNE gaming mic...about $8 on Amazon last time I bought one! I rode on frozen Buckeye Lake for the first time this winter - that was fun and cool (15F!)

As always,thank you for all the great videos, really appreciate all the information. If you don’t mind I do have a general question, I understand the Beta doesn’t have the raw power like your TX300 but I am curious if it has any hit at all, or is it just completely linear, most of the videos on the internet are riders just cruising around, not to many videos of riders really getting on it, 2nd 3rd gear bike, I was able to go on a Beta demo but the conditions were slippery and wet and never left 2nd gear, I understand they don’t have the hit of the TX or YZ250 but is there any hit to give you that 2 stroke feel, that excitement or is it just a flat feel?

The Beta power is very smooth as the PV opens but you can liven the response up with a quick flick of the clutch lever....l think you can see that in this video.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4qmxbaHlrivh7A.html Here is my 23 Husky TX300 and 23 Beta 300RE back to back on an old school GP track... kzread.info/dash/bejne/loKmudiofNGvoaw.html I hope to get a ride on a 24 Beta 300RX this spring as a buddy just picked one up this week. That bike has the 38mm Keihin carb along with a more aggressive PV and ignition curve setting so should have more excitement or hit.
Thanks for the review, I love how clean it runs, the bike sounds like it would be great in tight tech stuff and open faster terrain too. I am very picky about off idle response, some TBI bikes I have owned have been overly rich and blubbery, inconsistent on steep descents too. The Beta reviews say they run very consistently, accurately and clean, maybe the twin plug head is the magic? are you getting any exhaust spooge? (My TBI bikes drool quite a bit) . KYB suspension is the best! If I had a dealer nearby I would definitely buy one!!

Are you going to be able test the new 24 Yamaha WR450F and YZ450FX bikes. I am thinking about a WR450F but would like to see some reviews

I REALLY want to ride a '24 YZ450FX and '24 WR450. My '23 YZ450 was a beast - such a responsive engine and chassis....slightly softer engine/suspension with wide ratio transmission, 18" rear wheel, and a kickstand might be perfect! One of my buddies is close to buying a '24 YZ450FX and it that happens I will get a chance to ride it and post a video🤞
I know that the beauty of these 300 enduros is that they can just be lugged at low speeds with all the torque but is there any sort of powerband hit at all? Where you hit gear after gear and the front end just keeps picking up under power?

Yes with a little flip of the clutch you can make these 300's respond very quickly and the front end will keep just off the ground. The Beta 300 Race Edition is very smooth with a little less peak power compared to a KTM/Husky 300 TBI engine. GoPro Hero 7 Black with GoPro microphone adapter (about $50)and TNE gaming microphone (about $8) that comes with a foam cover over the mic all mounted on a Dango Chin mount
How is the weight?

Weight is within 2~3 lbs of my 23 TX300 and the Beta has full lighting and even a horn!
