Noizee scrub's a better 1s player absolutely no doubt. Deevo might be better in some mechanics sure. Only thing that surprised me this game was Deevo actually won most kickoffs

I wasn't the one taking credit from Deevo, that was Seth above. Deevo played out of his mind, whereas Scrub is probably the most fundamentally sound 1v1 player in the world. Appreciate greatness really.

What's really crazy is, looking back at this match now, you realize just how far we've pushed not only the game itself but also the players. If you could take a current plat/diamond level "average Joe" from matchmaking and throw them into a pro tournament back then, they would absolutely blow peoples' minds with the things we think of as basically "standard fare" nowadays. Proper dribbles, flicks, half-pitch aerials, wave dashing, not to mention the more flashy stuff like ceiling shots, air-dribbles, and flip resets (though I know those weren't actually even possible until a particular update, but you get the point). That's why Rocket League is so amazing. You never could have imagined back then what pro-level play would look like today. It barely even resembles the same game. Can't wait to see where the incredible community takes this game next!

Current plat in 1s are so garbage compared to then pros. Even diamonds won't fare well. Maybe C1, but C2 players and above are definitely going to give them a fight. You really overestimate how much the players have improved. Yes, the overall playerbase has improved a lot, but they are no where near the consistency of the pros back then. Current low- or mid-tier GCs (I'm a mid-GC, and from I can tell, people still STRUGGLE A LOT with ceiling shots, flip-resets, half-pitch air-airdribbles, and even dribbling) are highly inconsistent. A lot of people seem to have this misconception about the pros of the ol' days getting smoked by current diamonds. Not. A. Chance. Flashy mechanics, which I'll admit is becoming very prevalent in even Plat lobbies, does not mean you are a "good" player. Or, at least, a player that would consistently beat a player with lesser mechanical abilities. Mechanics isn't everything. Consistency will always be the meta, and I've been saying this since season 1.

I wouldn't say plat...maybe c1 because plats lack the game iq so they would just teach everyone fancy mechanics and not win anything

RL matchmaking really fucked me and my friend up today lol. We are both in the blue ranks (he's all star, I'm shooting star) and we were matched up in a 2's game with killerno7 and Pwndx. What the fuck Rocket League? Needless to say we got rekt.

Erge13 I thought it was fun, even though we lost for sure. Still, was a major screw up for the RL matchmaking when they put two grand champs vs two bluebies lol. Watching the replay afterwards made our mistakes painstakingly bad.

This is the craziest 1v1 I've ever seen. Compare this to the really highly viewed 1v1s from when the game launched like Gibbs vs Kro and Kro vs Gambit. That is nothing compared to this. It's insane how far the amount of skill in the game has gotten in just one year. This game really does have a nearly infinite skill ceiling

Easily the best 1v1 matches in rocket league history, these players are so fun to watch because of their skills in dribbling, and i really am looking forward to watching more of these

Bro, have you played against plats? I feel like a lot of people overvalue lower ranks nowadays, at least when comparing it to 3+ year old gameplay. Plats are still as "garbage" as you'd expect them to be. Especially in a 1v1. In terms of consistency: - Plats can barely dribble - Plats can't fast aerial - Plats aren't confident - Plats cannot make a ceiling shot - Plats can't double touch - Plats can't air-dribble - Plats lack car control - Plats lack air control - Plats lack car control - Plats cant clear - Plats aren't comfortable on walls - Plats lack game sense Need I say more?
