Thanks A Lot Sunil for the positive feedback, Really appreciate it. Lol, It's difficult to make people understand that accent is not something that we make up. We hate fate accents, and for such an informational video we would love to have the Indian Accent or even speak in Hindi / any other Indian language to be more accepted by the people. But unfortunately we didn't grew up in India so yeah, the accent might differ to the one that the general population are used to hearing.

Hi Avataarji, Yes Victoria Club is a good hotel, but then we had to narrow it down to 10 Hotels. One of the reasons we had to skip Victoria Club in our top 10 was because they dont have a direct online booking system. Most of our guest visit this vlog, decide which hotel they want to stay in, and book directly. Now with Victoria Club unfortunately They dont provide that facility. Maybe the next time we visit there, we can make a video regarding the Victoria Club

victoria club is a historical hotel.....it is really nice and one of my favs.....it was established in 1907...I think ?? cant recall...

Hi Yashwant, normally the check in timings is from 2 PM onwards and the check out is 11 AM. They normally give upto 12 PM for check out and if they have room availability they might be able to give you 30 - 60 minutes for free beyond 12 PM but anything beyond 1 PM would be chargable in most hotels.

Hi Sunita, Puri is not that big, so i would suggest you to book the hotel which you like and according to your budget. In regards of going to the temple, you can reach the temple in around 15 minutes from most of the hotels. So nothing to worry about. The hotels near the Puri main temple are not the best and most of them are cheap hotels and wouldn't give you the best experience. Our suggestion is to book any of the hotels in this list for the best experience.

We had a horrible experience at the Seven Hills hotel, puri. Don’t go by the “5-star” rating and the flashy pics of the hotel. This is at best a 3-star hotel with absolutely pathetic service. Some reviews had mentioned about the poor location, but you cannot imagine how bad it is till you reach. It’s deep inside some village, with bad roads. Unless you have your own vehicle you’ll be stranded. We had booked for 4 days, and paid an advance for 2 days. As soon as we reached they asked us to pay for the remaining days. Even top hotels in India settle the remaining amount during checkout. Thank God we didn’t pay, else we would have lost even more money. We had booked for 3 adults. When we reached the room there were no tea bags and only two tea cups. We requested for some tea bags, water bottle, and an additional cup. The reception rudely replied that they only provide 2 bottles of water. Even after 2 more reminders the tea bags and cup were not provided. Finally after waiting for an hour we got so irritated that we decided to go out and have tea. The additional bed provided was a hard kurl-on mattress and it was really uncomfortable. The bathroom didn’t have any hooks and it was difficult to keep the clothes. By then we were so frustrated that we decided to shift to another hotel next day. Next day when we were checking out we requested help with the luggage. Even after waiting 20 minutes no one came. Finally we had to carry the luggage ourselves. We told them the reasons why we had decided to leave. The reception “assured” us that they would refund the money for the second day, and gave us an invoice only for ONE day. But it’s been over 3 weeks now, and despite multiple emails, phone calls and messages there is no response. The management is really irresponsible and doesn’t care at all about customers. They cheated us. We lost a lot of money and wasted one day of our vacation.

Hi Amit Rai, Thanks for the detailed comment. We are sorry for your experience. If you could help us out and other viewers, it would really help if you could mention about the hotel. Which hotel did you experience such service. Although we are not shareholders of any of the hotels, we do apologize on their behalf. Although most hotels do go out of their way to provide high quality service some hotels do miss the essense of the hospitality industry from time to time. In regards of water bottles. Most hotels do keep a standard of 2 Water bottles complimentary / day and any additional water bottle is normally charged. In regards of why they didn't deliver the tea bags is still not clear. During check out time, it is quite common for the concierge to be late for pick up of bags due to the high amount of traffic that checks out at the same time. Now of course this varies from hotels to hotels. But our general advice is to call the concierge to pick up your bags, at least one hour before you plan to check out. It is better that the bags be down in the lobby and waiting for you rather than you wait for the bags to be picked up. We normally leave one small bag, that we carry ourselves to pack the last minute items in that one hour span. Because we have experienced a variety of timings for bag pick up from staying in various 1 star hotels to glam 5 star resorts as well. Our conclusion is that there is no standard for this service, especially during peak check out timings (between 9AM - 12AM). Once again we are sorry that you have a bad experience in staying in one of the hotels in Puri. Hopefully this experience does not spoil your desire to explore and see the world. Hi Ashis Sir, Depending on your online booking with the hotel. Using our system. you can choose to pay directly now, or pay at the hotel. We normally recommend paying now if your dates are confirmed. Because then you would be getting a guaranteed room and at a cheaper price. If you pay later / pay during the time you checkin, normally there is a risk of over booking, since you have not paid, they would prioritize the paid bookings first.

And normally last minute bookings are more expensive. I do understand that your money would be stuck, but Premium Hotel prices changes really drastically, sometimes even a 100% increase during peak seasons. So unless your trip is very volatile and have risk of not going, we always suggest to book and pay at the earliest to save some money. UNLESS you are not certain of the trip.
