Looks like a very professional bit of kit Mads. Glad it worked for you, rats certainly breed quickly and spread disease. Great to see and hear Rex.

Nice work buddy ,I've told my boss we need a few squirrel traps like this ,as they have chewed holes in over 10 litter bins where I work ,she even just bought 15 new wheelie bins and within a month they all have holes in the lids ,I said "get me 2 traps and I will sort the squirrels out in under a week ,but they don't want to spend £300 ,well they just wasted that on new bins ,I've even offered to spend the weekend there with the air rifle

Thanks brother, I paid about £75 each for these traps and so far they have killed 8 rats, I would believe these would also kill squirrels no prob instantly. We have no squirrels here, last one I have seen was 10 years ago. But plenty of rats reside all over the island talk about air rifles lol I have many times tried to shoot them but always miss lol gotta admit though the traps I am using now are brilliant, well worth the cash in my view.

I don't like poisons either. I lost a cat when I was in high school, he got into rat poison the Vet said their was strychnine in his blood. He tried helping him but he died at the Vets office over night. We think a mean old man that lived near by put poison down or poisoned Perkins. I cried a lot. Sorry Mads I couldn't watch the rest. I understand not wanting them in your yard or house though. I just wish there was a better way to trap them and relocate them.

I live in the city near a harbour, there is also flowing water, this makes rats a huge problem. Mostly they live in the sewers and old buildings. The kill was pretty instant, sad to see and sad that it has to be done. I read that rats become immune to poisons and they are quite interesting survivors. A great idea to wear gloves, as you said they are not stupid. Hope this stops the problem and that Rex stays away from them. Have a lovely weekend in beautiful Bornholm and hope you are keeping well.

Yes, some poisons they get immune to, I have seen the results of rats being poisoned it is a slow death, using this method on vid seems as humane as it gets. I hate killing animals, even rats, but as you say it has to be done. No point in catch and release that becomes another person's problem. Having said that, rats would survive a nuclear war, lol. Thanks for watching Alison, have a great weekend.

It looks like a wonderful trap for rats. We don't have rats, but a mouse invasion. With all my cats you would think it is impossible, but the mice live in the walls and cabinets where the cats can't get to them. I have tried using live traps & snap traps on them and they aren't helping much to get rid of all of them. I can't poison them because of the pets, so I use cornbread mix & baking soda now. I hate killing and making any animal suffer, but the mice have to go.

i was trying to find the correct translation i found this. The brown rat (Rattus norvegicus ), also known as the common rat, street rat, sewer rat, wharf rat, Hanover rat, Norway rat, Norwegian rat and Parisian rat, is a widespread species of common rat. One of the largest muroids, it is a brown or grey rodent with a head and body length of up to 28 cm (11 in) long, and a tail slightly shorter than that. It weighs between 140 and 500 g (5 and 17+3⁄4 oz). Thought to have originated in northern China and neighbouring areas, this rodent has now spread to all continents except Antarctica, and is the dominant rat in Europe and much of North America. With rare exceptions, the brown rat lives wherever humans live, particularly in urban areas.

They have international status now. I have roof or tree rats in Southern California. Mature foliage area. I use Victor rat traps. One time I killed four juveniles using peanut butter on the bait lever. All broken necks, quick...that time. Amber my GSD has killed two at local parks in daylight! They are pervasive here.🐀🚫🐕‍🦺
