personally found Below the Heavens around 2009 as i was graduating High School trying to figure out who I was. The themes of struggle in rthe process of building your own dream resonated heavily in a way that few albums have ever hit. Not to mention Exile just crushing the production. Really really happy to see that album on this list with such heavy hitters as it's always in my top 10 when talking albums.
Man really glad common is getting some love here. I started slobbin on the common knob in the end of high school and when I listened to like water for chocolate and Be I was blown away for the first time at how tight the production was and how great of a lyricist common is. He was one of my top 5 for a long time.
Be by Common is a straight classic. Glad you showed love 🙏

Vaudeville Villain shits on everything else in 2003
I definitely put Stankonia and Supreme Clientele above MMLP.
2000: MMLP - Eminem 2001: Wu-Tang Iron Flag - Wu-Tang Clan 2002: Quality - Talik Kweli 2003: The Owners - Gang Starr 2004: Madvillainy - Madvillain 2005: Most Known Unknown - Three Six Mafia 2006: In My Mind - Pharrell Williams 2007: The Cool - Lupe Fiasco 2008: Paper Trail - T.I. 2009: Born Like This - MF DOOM
2001 being dry is kind of crazy because that year was probably the craziest year in every facet of life from 9/11 to Barry bonds crushing 73 bombs and all the great movies coming out
Nightmares is also a 🔥 track off of Hell Hath No Fury. It's like the Clipse version of Geto Boys "Minds Playin' Tricks on Me".

No mention of KING by TI for 2006?
Need that 90s video. 🫡
For 06 it would definitely have to be donuts. In my opinion Donuts is maybe the best hip hop album ever made. Dilla’s ear for sampling is something that nobody else has or ever will have. Even producers like Madlib or even Kanye, while it is phenomenon. They don't have the one of a kind way to flip a sample in a way that both completely changes the entirety of the feel of the song being sampled, but even changing the meaning of the music in the sample to reflect the tragic state Dilla was in at the time. But also mad respect for picking Blu & Exile. More people need to check that masterpiece out.
just dropping my opinion here 2000 - stankonia 2001 - blueprint 2002 - eminem show 2003 - vaudeville villain 2004 - madvillainy 2005 - the late registration 2006 - game theory 2007 - graduation 2008 - tha carter III 2009 - born like this
I always find everyones top 10 hiphop albums always look the same. But honestly Kid Cudi’s MOTM inspired so many artists we have today and has to be in the list. Along with Tha Carter 3 by Wayne
Deltron 3030 released in 2000, shit is legendary, should have been at least considered
