There are hundreds of putters out there and it is a very personal club. Woods and many other top players have used the same putter for decades. The best putter is the one called ‘practice’ it gives the best results and you probably already own it, saving you a lot of money.

You have to find one you like and have confidence in first. If you don't believe in your putter you're going to have a hard day. After you find that right fit (much like a wand chooses the wizard) then yes I agree practice makes perfect.

@@mitchellwinters6198 The average golfer would not have the provider to test a large number of putters. So features of this nature are pointless be it drivers, wedges or putters. It just results in what the reviewer prefers. The old adage that you can’t buy a better golf game remains true and most golfers garages, where old clubs go to die proves the point. £10 spent on ‘Putting from the right side of the brain’ by Dr. Bob Rotella will do more for one’s putting than spending hundreds on the latest fancy shape putter.

We can all live on cabbage and water but that would be boring... Im a lefty so not many offerings but still like experimenting on occassion, even just to reassure myself. I have 4 putters, 2 with centre shafts (seemores), 1 slanty (ping) and 1plumbers (odyssey). All have skinny rubber grips, 35" and can pick the ball up. I have bought and sold heaps of putters including Scotty Cam's. I did like the Ping Heppler but not the adjustable length shaft, I know it can be swapped but more cost. I would like an Evnroll for the right price...but Im learning to be patient 😉

@@midlifebiker7424 Putters are like face flannels, very personal. I have used a 2 ball long putter for 20 years and if it fits in my coffin I wish to be buried with it. My gripe with putters and putting is that it is the most used club but players don’t practice. We all see the pre game half a dozen random putts on the practice green with the usual quip of saving some for the game etc. most of my playing pals take little care over there putts mainly hoping it will drop. I do have a practice routine lasting about 20 min. I very rarely 3 putt and average 32 for the last 3 years.

I have to agree you have to test them for yourself, what I love my playing partners hate. I have used a 2-ball for 20 years and having tested almost every putter on the market, I was going to stay with my 2-ball until I tested the Mizuno OMOI No1 WOW it has honestly knocked shots off my scores. The Interchangeable weights are a brilliant idea, I love the feel off the face and the colour. I just feel extremely confident over the ball. Great video.

With the tungsten weight systems designed for improving the MOI I have to wonder if once the material is milled out and threaded and the insert assembled (out of non-tungsten pieces and a tungsten alloy that is significantly lighter than pure tungsten) if any MOI is gained at all (I suspect not).

I play the Cleveland HB 1 S.O.F.T, really like the feedback from center strikes. If you strike from outside of center it will feel and sound a bit harder, but you still perform well in distance. Good putter regardless of price. Hold the putter ligth as if it were a bird chic and load the club with elevation energy by raising the club in a very slow deliberate back swing. Then release the club and let it fall, follow through with your shoulders without adding force to the swing. I find it easier to deliver the right amount of force doing it that way, compared to using my muscles to make the club head go.

I've recently purchased the Tri-Hot 5K Triple Wide with double-bend hosel. I wanted more stability, face balanced and feel (the feedback is fantastic). It's feels soft on impact and it's basically a blade putter widened, not a fan of mallet putters.

Interesting, in that I just recently purchased the same putter. I practiced with it a few times and played with it for the first time today. The head is a bit heavy at 370 grams, so very much like a mallet although it is a deep blade design. I'm not sure yet if I like it but my thoughts are it feels a bit too soft to me. I tend to like a bit more click/feedback on contact. It feels a bit "mushy"... I do like that it's face balanced and think it's very well made - especially for the price. When you say some people really dislike it, have you heard reasons as to why they don't? I'm curious... Thanks.
