That Fix It Guy I been sharing the heck out of your videos brother. Your channel should be much bigger you put out great content that people can actually use. I see some of these channels that put out garbage useless content that have hundreds of thousands subscribers. I hope it takes off for you and grows. You deserve it.

Your very welcome.
Man I wish I saw this video earlier. I do a lot of diy jobs around the house but never heard of a basin wrench before. I had to change some faucets in our bathroom the vanity is super tight no room at all. I ended up cutting down a pair of cheap Channel locks to get the job done (we’re still in lockdown 🙄) I figured there had to be a better way . Thanks for the video I’ve got one basin wrench on order 👍

thanks. i like the idea of a ratchet but probably don't have the money and what i really don't have is the room for a basin wrench to fit arount the nut because there's no space on the sink or wall sides. what i could use right now is a basin wrench with a smaller tip.

I would love a small sized basin wrench as well. That is plumbers pain bro! You never know what you will run into at times.
@carletonhoffman
2 жыл бұрын
@@ThatFixItGuy i don't know why they don 't make a Basin Buddy that will fit larger sizes. we just ended up paying a plumber (who used a telescoping basin wrench) and even he had to cut the damn nut because it had been put on too tight. i would have tried an immense socket but even then it would have to have openings for the supply tubes.

Mike Hawk is great for tight spaces
I'm having a headache tightening my loose faucet. I just came back from Home Depot and purchased a basin wrench. I'm confused about your pivot explanation at 1.35. Don't i tighten clockwise or is it opposite with this basin wrench. Anyway, i'm trying it now. I'll be right back and give you an update.
@ThatFixItGuy

It is righty tighty. It is just funky under the sink at times with weird angles. Hope it went well.

@@ThatFixItGuy Without a photo to show you, I can't get that hook shape to go around the nut. The space is tight and the hoses are in the way. Even if I disconnected the hose, the basin wrench won't fit and grip the nut. It's a brass 2 inch wide nut. I've never seen a nut like this before. My faucet dd cost me $1000 so it must be european like BMW's where every part is different from USA. Anyway, I've decided to hire a plumber and purchase a new basic stainless steel faucet that doesn't cost $1000. He wants me to purchase Kohler. I assume its the favorite of plumbers and easy to install. The plumber tells me to buy a new faucet and he will do hos best to fix my existing faucet/ If he can fix it, then I can return the new faucet. In not, then he can install the new faucet immediately.
@ThatFixItGuy

Well that does not sound like a bad Idea. If you have facebook you could send me a video or a picture if the faucet. Sometimes things are weird. I've totally had times where the basin wrench would not work and had to wing it.

@@ThatFixItGuy I'm making one more attempt at this. I'm buying that RED RIGID SINK and FAUCET INSTALLER I see all over youtube. I saw it at Home Depot when I went to purchase 2 other basin wrenches that was recommended by one of the employees there. He said the RIGID might not work since the nut is 2 inches, but I did watch a video where there is an adapted included that could work. If it doesn't work, I'll move forward with a Plumber. I'll try and send you a photo via FB. I assume your FB page is linked somewhere on your video. Thanks.

Yeah there is a link in the description box I’m happy to take a look at it. The red faucet wrench’s work good in some situations as well. Fingers crossed.
In a tight spot It’s a good option Jobs are easier with tools More the merrier 🎉
Is a basin wrench wide enough to unscrew a sink-drain in a pedestal sink?
@ThatFixItGuy
Жыл бұрын
No unfortunately not. I have not found something to do that. You have to take the sink off the pedestal to change that
@topcat5992
Жыл бұрын
@@ThatFixItGuy thank you, yes that's what I thought after seeing a lot of faucet videos but most were a non-pedestal sink.
How does any of these tools grab the nut?
@ThatFixItGuy
2 жыл бұрын
Is it a really tight space? They made this style wrench with a little spring action to help catch and keep the wrench on the nut.
Would love to see you actually grip that faucet nut and make a turn (or attempt at least) with that wrench! In real world there.is.no.space to do that! Not to mention if the nut is crusty. 👽💪

I totally get what your saying. I’ve not had much success with other brands of basin wrench, but ridgid has been good to me. When I find an opportunity I will shoot a video with a basin wrench.
Shoot I’d just get the Ridged Multi tool Wrench.
yeah if you would have actually got that wrench on one of those kitchen sink nuts it would’ve been a better example but that wrench was to wide.
i like to send my kids under there to get pipes under sink LOL
None of these tools look like they fit in tight spaces?
Wish I saw this video earlier

I know, but they do work. I may try a Milwaukee next. Some say it is a slimmer basin wrench.
Honestly… I’m a plumber, and there’s still plenty of situations these are useless. I wouldn’t recommend buying one. Time tested yes, but it doesn’t work all the time.
