Hey Dads,
My friend let me borrow his 4 tine pitchfork, or 4 tine spading fork, and this is my review of the long handle 4-tine spading fork that he let me use to move some mulch or compost for our garden.
We are creating a food forest in our backyard and so far we have moved about 15 yards of wood chips, and we have tried many different gardening tools to get the mulch from the truck to the ground. We have used shovels, hoes, our feet and hands, and we have found the these 4 tine compost forks work the best.
I really like this long handle pitchfork for mulch because you can easily get to the mulch that is in the middle of your truck without having to wear out your legs getting into and out of the truck of your bed. I also like that with the long handle 4 tine fork, I am able to fling the mulch out of the truck with the long handle and have it land a good 10 feet across the yard.
If you have a lot of mulch / wood chips / compost that you are looking to move, then I highly suggest that you look into getting a Pitchfork / spading fork / compost fork.

You’re confusing garden forks-which are for fracturing dirt-with pitchforks-which are for tossing grassy materials.

That pole is called a handle lol and in my experience garden hand tools with lifetime warranties are typically of poor quality and/or the process to actually claim the warranty is as complicated as possible and designed so that they still make money replacing the item like oh you half to ship it and you play for the shipping for the return and new product if your going for a garden tool look for an old one preferably steel or iron even if the handle (pole) is damaged or rotted. They are cheap and very easy to replace every hardware store has crap loads of handels sand the clear coat off and apply some linseed oil (to the whole thing not just the handle) and as long as you store it out of the weather and reapply the linseed ever few years your children will be able to hand the tool down to there kids

Is there another brand that you recommend that has a lifetime warranty? I'm always looking for the best!

Sears doesn't even own Craftsman any longer. They're owned by Stanley Black & Decker.
