Best Piste Skis For 2024

Our best PISTE SKI picks for the 2024 winter ahead
NORDICA SPITFIRE
T'S ALL ABOUT THE SHAPE
The entire line of Doberman Spitfire skis is designed for skiers demanding high-performance, on-piste precision. Built using three years of studies and on-snow testing, the skis are more fluid through the arc, smoother, and faster thanks to a number of new technologies. That includes the new Recoil Power Plate, which allows the ski to flex naturally, thereby delivering a livelier ride. All of the skis in the line are modeled after our World Cup race skis, but each Dobermann Spitfire is specially designed to meet the demands of a variety of abilities and needs. Whether you’re a masters racer, PSIA instructor, or just a skier that loves carving up the frontside, a ski from the Dobermann family is your best bet.
ATOMIC REDSTER X9S
Atomic Redster X9S Revoshock S set is for skiers who want speed, versatility, and max performance - infused with World Cup heritage and a hefty dose of fun.. and it's compatible with both alpine-normed and GripWalk boots. Redster X9S takes World Cup proven tech and packs it into a platform for skiers who want to enjoy the speed and versatility of Atomic’s Multi Radius Sidecut engineering. The ski is ready to snap off quick short carves or stretch out beautiful long-radius turns. With Revoshock, the Redster X9S Revo S has an agile, predictable ride, making icy, early morning corduroy a pleasure to ski. Dual-layer Ultra Titanium laminate that runs from sidewall to sidewall above and below the core enhances overall strength, edge grip and torsional flex, while Ultrawall construction combines the edge hold and power transfer of a full sidewall with the durability and longevity of cap finishing. The Ultra Power Woodcore comes over from Atomic's FIS race platforms to provide pro-level strength, keeping the speed up and the fun high from open to close.
Redster X9S Revo S is ideal if you want to do a bit of racing and piste skiing the rest of the time.
BLIZZARD THUNDERBIRD R15
Skiing requires a certain amount of trust in your equipment. Trust that it will perform and trust that it will keep you safe. The Thunderbird R15 with it’s Trueblend Piste woodcore and Active Carbon Armor vibration damping system, is designed to give you that trust and confidence to carve turns as fast you dare on any groomed slope, and with a 15m radius, it has the turning versatility you need to make long turns, short turns and every kind of turn in between.
SALOMON ADDIKT PRO
Skiers addicted to every opportunity to carve down the mountain will be instantly hooked on the latest Salomon Addikt Pro set. Thanks to innovative Motion Tail technology and a narrow waist, this ski is reactive yet forgiving, so you can have fun mixing short and long turns all day long.
Limitless turns
Motion Tail technology increases tail flexibility by 5% for a forgiving yet responsive ski for days on snow.
Playful
The 66 slalom sidecut makes the ski extremely agile and playful, allowing you to mix short and long turns at high or low speed and fully enjoy your day on the slopes.
Responsive at high speeds
The ski's wood core and double Ti construction is complemented by Salomon's Blade technology, so you can always push the limits of your comfort zone.

Salomon Stance 84 would have been a far better choice than the Stance 80. That 4mm with titanal under the binding is amazingly smooth. As a ski instructor I bought it for my personal use and is extremely reponsive, powerful and damp to plough through crud, hard pack and ice. Great for 90% of the conditions and stable in all eastern conditions except west coast deep powder.

Because they changed the build and the technology of their ski’s so much that the UVO was no longer needed to keep the tips from chattering. Honestly, I do have the UVO on my Racetiger SC’s and I find it super ugly 🙈

Thunderbird not stable???? What planet are you from? That ski is absolutely planted and will do any turn if you know how to ski. Best ski I’ve ever been on in 47 years of skiing! Anybody interested should ignore this review.

@@tonyg3091 You're absolutely correct, but I guess I was judging through my own lense. I have the AX, and they are my narrowest ski, and I view them as frontsiders. But your point about them really being narrow all mountain skis is spot on.

Yes the Hero master 173 is directly out of the race dept. It was first developed for the Sochi Olympics debut dual sl format and remains much the same. I believe it was a 175cm. If you really want performance on piste there is Hero Master
