dont trust amazon 3rd party products or customer service or drivers, I requested knocks on door or at least doorbell ring when drop off and their crappy drivers they hire refused to do it, promise one thing and nothing happens, some of their cheaper products are cheaper for a reason.

Still cannot get the 4th generation Blink in the UK. Amazon refuse to provide information. Guess they just want to offload all their 3rd generation old stock.

Literally not a single one of these mentions the range of the camera….kinda the absolute MOST important spec when looking at an outdoor camera

Damm straight! I bought a six camera system from my BIL. I thought I would give him the business but it was him who gave the business to me. Hot damm you couldn’t identify the person the camera captured. Shit! You couldn’t even tell what kind of vehicle they were driving. They sucked at 20ft and they needed a spot light to make anything even remotely usable. Field of view and resolution sucked. Crap!! It all sucked

Anyone who is looking for a security system. I suggest the night owl security system. The systems range from $220 to $1000 depending on how many channels you want, which range from 4 to 20 Cameras and there are no fees to use the app. The only additional fee is to use their system to back up your recordings but this can be eliminated with the use of up to a 128g thumb drive.

What is the best stand-alone 4G cellular camera (choice for the price range) (for the property that does not have wifi access)?

I have the wired Nest doorbell since 11 months and four other Nest cameras since a number of years. The Nest Aware Plus subscription with Google Home is very disapointing as it is impossible to select and create personnal videos, you have to settle with the event driven clips that the software determines, and those clips miss a lot of very valuable information. A lot of events are not captured by the software; also, there is no timeline of events that is provided wth the clips which is invaluable information for law enforcement. Apart from that, the cameras are sturdy and of quality.

Perhaps someone could help me with something. I"ve been wanting to get security cameras for a while and was going to get a ring doorbell to start. Then the story of an Amazon customer getting their service suspended over an accusation got me worried. I know that offering services and at least some features almost demands subscriptions, but the idea that I could get my security cut off over some accusation bothers me. What if a bad neighbor knows who operates your camera services, makes a false complaint, and gets your services shut down so they can "attack" without getting themselves filmed? Consequently I'm looking at devices that don't require subscriptions but naturally there is a feature hit involved. Any thoughts?

I have had wyse cameras For the last couple of years and honestly I don't recommend them. I'm looking for a camera that does all the same stuff but can actually get some detail like read a license plate.

Don't buy Arlo. Extremely difficult to charge. While battery is being charged, the camera is down. It needs quick replace able battery

All These webcams are constantly linked to the cloud and as a result cause excessive use of your data plan. If your plan don’t have unlimited data then be prepared to pay for overage. Your best bet is to get a NVR camera system that stores your recordings locally.

I would avoid RING altogether. They are poor quality, tend to be slow to respond and Amazon has had issues with privacy in the past. What do you actually need as far as features? What do you want your camera to do? If you want a camera to just do the job of being a camera and detecting motion and notifying you of events, you don't need anything too fancy. Look for a camera that has good night and daytime resolution, local storage backup such as SD card or a local base station, and avoid subscriptions. There are a lot of options that are not Ring or Nest. Look at other things such as EziViz, Eufy, Aqara, and several others. Also, avoid videos like this one. These sort of "best outdoor camera" videos, especially ones saying 2024, but showing older models that are already available will just confuse you
