Myself and Eddie took out our favorite portable bluetooth speakers of all time and tested them in the great outdoors in Ruidoso, New Mexico. We checked them for outdoorsey kind of things like distance for the bluetooth connection, how loud they can get, and then finally checking to make sure they can all be fully submerged in water and still work afterwards. We were really impressed with the Bose Soundlink Flex, and it's also one of the newer offerings from Bose, who I don't usually see as having a high quality speaker, but these tests made me look at them with much higher regard.

The Bose is a unique speaker than the rest I've tried the Marshall which was not bad at all simple and yet great sound the Marshall wins by design but the Bose has a feature where it can pick up the songs energy and turn itself up then gets low when it's soft it reads the music's atmosphere. Also the EQ is activated by the way you stand the speaker. Bose signature with base if it stands vertically, a clean natural sound facing up, and surround sound hung/horizontal. Marshall and Bose are really good though.

I own own all these, the Flex is the best by far…
I went with the bose because of the shape and tested it in the shower. It got drenched and muffled, but I turned up the sound to push the water out. I also love the loop thingy so I can hang it anywhere. I put a carabiner on it too.

Yeah I use a carabiner and just hook it behind the shower head . Gets a little wet but still works like a charm 👍
Hey Danny I owe you a big thankyou. It was your video which guided me to take the right decision. I went with the Bose Soundlink Flex and witnessed something I have never experienced before. The Bose Soundlink Flex is something phenomenal to my ears. This is the first time I have bought such an expensive speaker. The hype is true. All thanks to you.. Danny! And yeah your shirts are awesome, I tried to buy even that one too but with the importing fees it is costlier than the speaker itself. So I left that idea.

The speakers probably just lost there signal being under water!
Great video, but it would also be useful to have a float test. If it falls in water and sinks that's important.

It’s the best speaker out there bar none. I bought two after I heard the first one I bought. Who gives a shit if you can’t hear it under water lmao 🤣. The sound and base, mid, and high are amazing. Volume as well. I have 5 other speakers and I’m selling them all.
It’s a great idea to stop once it hits water. The device shuts of saving battery life.

I am very surprised by the distance test that Bose speaker actually get the max distance because it has Bluetooth 4.2 and others hv 5

We used an S21 ultra Samsung phone. Perhaps other aspects like being in a relatively remote location would change it too.
So you went with the bose right?
How do you run these tests and not show their floating capability? 🤷🏻♂️
The Marshall isn’t IP67 like the Flex, I’m pretty sure its an IPX6 or 7, and has ZERO dust/dirt/mud proofing which the Flex DOES HAVE…

From what I understand, Bluetooth is not supposed to work through water. Maybe Bluetooth 5.0 can which Bose is not Bluetooth 5.0.

Bluetooth signals can't penetrate water that well, so bluetooth players should stop playing once they go deep enough.
