All honor and glory and praise to the captains, the helmsmen, and also the cameramen. Realizing it's mostly camera perspective in normal waves. Even so, for the captain/helmsmen, it is a very serious minute or three. Been there, done that. Tide vs wind is super critical. And when motoring, which is normal, so much faith is put in the motor to propeller. I've seen it go bad. I've had it go bad. All honor to the skippers with the balls to go for it.

A couple of these boats with outboard motors and determined skippers just kept going. Whatever the waves "wanted" to do, these stoic sailors stuck to their guns. You've got to admire the French!!!

A person enjoying to sail in Mediterranean for pleasure during summer, can say only one word in looking these people: respect! We have our serious conditions and danger as well, but.... we need 10 Mediterranean sailors to make just one of these crazy guys joking with the northern France’s coasts! 👍🏻

Pas observé de vents violents .. L'idée qui reste : bien choisir l'heure de passage. Sauf à risquer le bateau. Je sais malheureusement le sujet.

I'd be looking for a new marina if I had to deal with that everytime I went for a sail. Great job to the skippers!

Super images qui donnent à réfléchir. C’est très facile pour moi de parler depuis mon fauteuil bien installé à l’abri :( Mais je me demande si pour une rentrée au port avec une mer formée par l’arrière et pour éviter un départ au lof je ne choisirai pas de porter une voile d’avant au lieu de la grand voile même arisée qui favorise un départ au lof quand il n’y a qu’elle de hissée. Ça éviterai aussi des empannages incontrôlés. J’aimerai bien recueillir les témoignages de ces marins courageux qui ont l’air de bien connaître cette passe bien difficile à négocier. Chapeau bas les marins 🙏

Why some of the sailboat put up their Mains when crossing this entrance? I think there's more risk of weather helm than benefit of stabilizing the boat.

pas mal le dernier voilier rentrant as su bien négocié il faut très vite réagir!!cette passe sert de maitriser ces réactions bonne école !!! mais reste un danger tout de même !!! devrait voir un avertisseur de danger les déferlantes sont très irrégulières (parfois très courtes )

Alex please..we need to see the voiliers GOING INTO HABOUR...NOT GOING OUT TO SEA...going out to sea is not important....everybody can go out to sea...but lots of skills is required when you have to enter to port with big waves on your back.... Please Alex...🙏

Main up give you another chance if engine quits. I see many boats with sails neatly tucked away going in/out. If engine quits your steering goes to 0.

La GV fait lofer . Le foc fait abattre . Rentrer vent arrière sous Gv seule relève de l' incompétence !

Impressive sailing, but it amazes me that wearing a life jacket seems not to be cool. I do rescues, even on a lake, rather than the Atlantic. The ones not wearing a life jacket are dubbed TSTL (too stupid to live) and many do parish due to their pride. Please be safe, not macho and stupid. Be a real sailor. Thank you for sharing.

par contre j'aurais bien aimé voir le passage du premier voilier, ça a coupé quand ça devenait intéressant mais bon pas grave par contre j'ai un voilier moi aussi mais sur Lorient et heureusement que la passe pour rentré n'est pas la même que chez toi...on ne pourrait pas sortir quand on veut!
