Best of the Worst: Bad Movie Scavenger Hunt Too
Ойын-сауық
Hey remember the Bad Movie Scavenger Hunt???? It's a gimmick we only did once, two years ago. We didn't run this gimmick into the ground! So now it's back! This time, there's three contestants, two pieces of criteria, and endless trash to choose from! Who will win the scavenger hunt? What will win Best of the Worst? And when will someone change my diaper???

The first episode had a lot of bugs. It took them two years to get the formula right.
I'm very glad Tim is being featured in more episodes.
Roger Corman seems to have done this movie-splicing thing several times. I remember watching a fantasy movie called 'Wizards of the Lost Kingdom', which contains random segments of at least two other Corman movies spliced in.
@Banjo-Oz

That movie is mostly other movies! Roger does it a LOT, actually. Battle Beyond the Stars has to be the best investment he ever made, though. How many films use either footage or music from that? Jim Cameron quality you can reuse over and over like stock footage? Roger hit gold. I remember watching Space Raiders as a kid and being so confused, having already been a HUGE fan of BBTS. First time I saw a movie that contained so much of another movie. Star Slammer is another (great) movie that uses BBTS footage a lot.

Effects for Raptor (2001) are made up of 99% footage from the 3 Carnosaur movies. Some actors weren't told that the only reason they were cast was because they were in a Carnosaur movie and could have new scenes matched up to old kill footage.

Silk was an extremely popular tv-show when I was a teen growing up in Norway. TV had been state controlled and it was pretty much the only soft core erotic show we had ever seen. People might have been renting these movies for that reason? Just speculating.
The tampon ad jokes all the way to the end had me in pain laughing.
A lot of highlights in this one, but I laughed the hardest at Mike trying to remember the setup to the innocuous “Moby Pickle” joke (28:11) and making it increasingly filthy in his mind! Nothing is better than one of the boys being convinced something happened in a movie and then cutting in instant visual evidence to the contrary.

Now days, a killer turkey gimmick in a movie would be played purely for "look how wacky we are" laughs, like the Thankskilling "movies." But in 1971, a killer turkey man was expected to be taken at face value and played for serious scares, even if it was in grindhouses on 42nd Street or in drive-ins in Georgia. Like, the Sleazoid Express would have had a whole article on why the turkey man bucks bland Hollywood convention, or Joe Bob at the Drive-In would tell you to check it out. Does this mean we collectively lost something as a culture? Probably not.

We are in the era of enlightenment and ironic enjoyment. It doesn't matter. You can like movies however you want. Ironic, or sincerely. It doesn't really matter as long as you're enjoying your time. Also, I think that earnest concept ("...the turkey man bucks bland Hollywood convention"), and the fact that they don't seem to realize how absurd it is is what makes a bad movie fun to watch more times than not. Next to, I guess, film maker narcissism.

It's definitely a movie that couldn't be made today, in the sense of coming from a place of sincerity. "Pro Christian anti-drug turkey monster movie" would have ten levels of oh-so hilarious post-irony all over it. It's a weirdness that could have only existed in the 70s, I think.
Has everyone noticed that Jack is to Mike as Mike is to Rich? Jack insults Mike with impunity, and always has. Mike just sits there and takes it, every time. "You are terrible at synopses!!" (cut to Jay laughing boorishly in agreement) "Maybe make it a little shorter..." (criticizing how Mike would alert the police about Shakma) "...Get the fuck out of here....!!!" (harshly judging Mike's choice of Geritol Follies) Mike nervously missing the safety mat because Jack is hovering around him, and the Tom Green beer bottle shatters into 1000 unfunny pieces and the list goes on and on Mike is Jack's Rich.

I can't believe they didn't destroy Blood Freak! I thought it was terrible - its only redeeming feature was that it was a period piece!
The director/star of 'Blood Freak' ended up living with a bunch of tigers in Loxahatchee FL. When his favorite one, "Bo Bo" escaped in 2012, the FL wildlife cops killed him, and soon after the others were relocated to a wildlife preserve. A thousand people showed up for a candle-light vigil for Bo Bo and the Florida game wardens received death threats and tons of angry emails. He apparently never got over the loss of his pet and moved to be closer to his other big cats.

I’m so glad this came out, so earlier today I had a dream I was at a clerks office with my mom and Rich was there too and he looked really uncomfortable in his chair so I told him in a tongue in cheek way that “that’s a nice chair”, he became visibly upset. While waiting for my mom to be done, none other than Mike walks in and pours himself a cup of complimentary wine that was in the office, I had one too. Rich demanded I repeat what I said to him so Mike can I hear. I did and visibly amused, me and Mike clinked wine glasses. I had this dream less than 6 hours ago.

There's gotta be a term for movies like Ultra Warrior, Space Thunder Kids, or all kinds of Godfrey Ho movies. "Movies" where they had access to multiple unfinished movies, and just mashed them together like we wouldn't notice.
