Callum McCarney Gavin’s arguing that Burnie always sees construction at Austin Airport because it’s the most frequent place Burnie visits, so of course he sees it the most there. Burnie is saying he will 100% of the time he sees construction at Austin airport, no matter when he goes. He doesn’t see construction at all in other places, even if he visits them frequently. If they’re good at maintenance, you should be able to go to the Austin airport and not see construction sometimes. Burnie says that scenario never happens. Gavin’s arguing fixed amount, Burnie is arguing consistency.

Gavin is speaking in absolute terms (# of instances of construction at a given airport). Burnie is speaking in relative terms (# of instances of construction / total # of visits to the given airport). Within their own realms, they're both technically "right". However, the fact that I could articulate both of their arguments in 1 sentence, yet they couldn't in several minutes, means that they're both wrong in my book.

@@dillonschreiber2389 Okay, I've seen you ask multiple comments so I'll break down his point to you. Burnie complains he sees construction every time he goes to Austin airport. He then notes that when he goes to other airports, there is a lower incidence of him running into similar construction. Gavin notes that his perception is skewed because Burnie visits Austin airport more often than every other airport because he LIVES in Austin. Thus, since he sees Austin airport more often than every other airport, he is exposed to more incidences of construction. Burnie does not understand this point. Gavin is saying Burnie's sample size is biased, because every time he sees airports, Austin airport is involved. Thus, for every non Austin airport Burnie sees, he sees Austin's twice as much, meaning he will see twice as much construction at Austin than at every other airport combined. While construction happens at all airports, Burnie mistakenly thinks Austin's construction is more prevalent, when really he only has more exposure to the natural amount of construction occurring there.

Gavin is wrong. When Burnie catches a flight he sees two airports: Austin and his destination. If Austin airport has the same amount of construction as other airports, then the amount of construction Burnie sees at other airports should average out to be the same as what he sees at Austin. If that average is lower than the amount of construction at Austin, then Burnie is correct and there is more construction at Austin.

I fucking remember where I was when I heard the first argument. I was driving over a bridge trying my hardest to not crash while belly laughing uncontrollably and my inability to see past the tears of laughter. I pulled over as soon as I got over the bridge and just stepped out of the truck hands on my knees in pain from laughing so goddamn hard!

Burnie is right though. Since my freshman year until senior year, they always did construction in one road just to make a right lane turn right only (no longer can go straight) and a brighter sidewalk. 4 years. My mom and I were furious cause that part always caused traffic and made kids late since there was 3 schools near each other lmao

People will defend Gavin not being stupid but the whole skull bones convo is such a huge point of just being dumb. He is acting like he isn't wrong when his questions make no sense (considering what he wanted as an answer) and Burnie was answering everything asked and Gav just didn't like the answers.... Even the airport convo. Burnie is saying he goes to all these other airports on a regular basis at least one other airport should be under some construction. Yes he physically goes to austin individually more due to arrival and departing but he goes to other airports (in total) just as much if not more often (due to layovers). This would make a pie chart of austin airport being visited about 40% of the time and other airports 60% (10 % given to others due to layovers). In theory he should see atleast 1 of those other airports under construction once. Its like spinning a wheel every other option is austin. You spin the wheel 10 times yes you will get austin more often but out of those 10 theoretically 5 of those will be a different result.

Burnie is 100 percent correct and i dont get why the other guys dont get it If airport A (austin) is having useless construction constantly then he will see it more often, generally speaking. But since he goes regularly to many other airport's and doesnt see non stop construction then clearly austin has an issue

@@PhoenixEditsRT Totally understandable. You truly put tones of time into your videos. HemboHero would be proud. Keep it up. If you ever plan on doing another best of Jack video, (maybe a laugh compilation) there is a GTA V clip where I think Geoff somehow flies a jet into a tree then ejects from the jet after crashing it and lives. Jacks laughter which ensues is so contagious. I can't remember the video title for the life of me.
