His reaction isn’t to Tuco emptying it- it’s to Tuco smacking it on the counter and a few cartridges spilling out. Even after, Tuco doesn’t empty the container- he merely shakes it a bit until several more bullets fall out.

That's why Tuco's gun had a unique, "tune". The familiar sound that Blondie heard later on, was in fact, from a whole new pistol. He didn't know that Tuco had acquired a new weapon. What was the same however, was the unique grouping of components, from different makers, as favoured by Tuco. That was the "tune" that Blondie recognised.

All of Clint's westerns were great. Esp the early ones. I don't think that he's ever made a truly bad film. Incidentally, the word "idiot" wouldn't have become popularized until the early 20th century. First as the lowest level of mental retardation. Later as the insult Clint says to Eli Wallach playing the part of "Tuco".

Clint Eastwood’s greatness was in letting the best in every other actor shine through it gave him so much more to work with in terms of his own character. He enjoyed sharing the limelight because he wants to be able to sit his ares down with some JD when he’s tottering around long after the dust has settled and enjoy his movies that he starred in and some that he directed the way we all enjoyed them. His gravestone should say something like “a class act from the womb to the tomb”In decades to come he will be one of the most remembered stars of the Big screen. They broke the mould after him.

WCC supplied almost all costumes and props including weapons for this movie. In 2000 in went bankrupt and sold its stuff in one huge auction. Swords, guns, knives and tomahawks all went for 1.2 million dollars. after examination it was all split up and sold on ebay for well over ten million. Swords with tags from john wayne.and movie actors from the 30's 40's were all auctioned one at a time on ebay. Tomahawks with human hair attached too....about half the stuff was made up but what was left? confederate and union uniforms, hats, belt plates and well just too much to name here all went to collectors. Whoever bought it for one million was made for life. Western Costume Company was legendary.

It's not that, everyone watches Netflix, hulu, HBO or just KZread nowadays they dont have cable. Growing up I watched this at the age of 14 for the first time cause in November they would have classic westerns on AMC, and on spike TV had the James bond marathons, so we were forced to watch that or continue channel surfing. I enjoyed the movies very much but the youth now just pick a movie on whatever they watch and once it's over pick another one. It's their choice of the film so I doubt if they saw the movie on Netflix or something they wouldn't pick it and try it out over whatever they were in the mood for. That's the thing about cable you cant pick what's on, only which channel to watch.

Amazing part of this, Wallach didn’t know anything about guns. He made it up as he went in this scene.

Never understood why Tuco takes money since he never buys anything just robs and steals.

Yeah. A movie that sets out to do something and pulls it off to perfection is pretty rare. This is one of them for sure.

One of the best cowboy gangster films ever. Elmore Leanard must of hoped and aspired to emulate this stuff. He didnt do a bad job in his cowboy stuff. Never beat the master though. Not many regardless of field ever beat the master. Very few.
