Fun fact: The cardigan was invented 1800s, when one Lord Cardigan had his coattails cut off after they caught on fire while warming himself by the hearth.

At 7:36 the "pee-pee" line hits my funny-bone like a bullet train. And the "Yeeessssssssssssssssss, Mr. Flintstone?" instantly triggers memories of Frank Nelson. Such a prolific character actor of his time, and occasionally played a salesman in a shop on that series, like in the anniversary piano episode. The pop culture references are always so funny and so frequent in these videos. Plus, my being a certain age, I can tell that these RiffTrax guys-- especially Mike-- grew up enjoying the same TV, books, school yard games, music and movies that I did. Thanks!

Yes, exactly! In this one, did you see Dumpy at about 10:35 from RiffTrax’s DINOSAURUS?! I love all of this and I love that Joel said when he began MST3k he decided not to worry if all the viewers would get the jokes…but he said the RIGHT viewers will get the jokes. And yes re: Frank Nelson. Oh my god, I live off this stuff.

I like this episode, but I still don't get what so many people have against this movie, and I mean FANS of low-budget horror. To me, it has a very entertaining "William Castle" feel to it.

im personally a big fan- i love the weirdo cult made up of like society kooks of all types set up in the back of a doll shop ran by an effeminate older man who apparently is really into the occult. A lot of the lines are like laugh out loud funny too outside of the riffing. It's got a lot of rewatch appeal for me

I am disappointed that this movie didn't end with the Good God Gumbi showing up and defeating the Evil God Gamba. ...oh wait, Camba? Never mind

There is a clear moment around 19:00 where Alda's love interest says "what is going on?" I was craving one of Bill's big ol "de de de de de de de dedaleda de.da de........eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Not exactly the same, but in spirit

I'm guessing this film had more to do with hiding/laundering dirty money than anything else as the producer, unless there were multiple Alvin Bubis' bouncing around LA in the 1960s, had his conviction for using a device that let him make untraceable, free, illegal gambling-related long distance calls overturned on appeal six years after the movie came out.

The drummer was Chaino, who had a strange career in exotica music by pretending to be African instead of African-American.

Mike’s singing is hilarious
