1982 upto 1986 STEEL PULSE IN THEIR ABSOLUTE PRIME, AND BEST REGGAE LIVE ACT AROUND !!!!!
I watched this cool reggae sunsplash some 40+ years ago. Today I'm happy to be alive at 60 to watch it again. It's really reminiscent.
I always loved this group especially David I yelled his name out at a Philly performance I just love David, always did I'm American named Judy. Kwa
This has to be the best line up that I have ever seen! !!!
The beginning of a new era in reggae (post-Marley). This period sparked a new awareness and creativity in the reggae artistes of that era, which culminated in the highest recorded growth and penetration of reggae music (1981 - 1991)...

@@donhue4546 True indeed. Actually, I had decided to take in the entire period of the changing styles, other than roots (rub a dub/deejay, ragamuffin/dancehall). In fact, what beats me the most is that most of the artistes whose careers seemed to peak immediately after Bob's passing were all present and active during his lifetime. While some of them did make their modest marks alongside Bob, but were somewhat overshadowed by his larger-than-life image, the most seemed to be casual in their approach to the music, embracing more the feel-good, ganja-blazing, 'rudie' way of life then... Until Bob died and the whole world stood still in respect and appreciation! Only at this moment did it become clear how much Bob's music had penetrated and conquered the globe, far beyond the shores of little Jamaica! Then, the big scramble began; almost everyone seemed to wake up from slumber and try to put their acts together. While some artistes creatively competed over who would wear Bob's shoes, the rest tried to at least cash in on the big money-spinning machine reggae music had become. Of course, with the great promotional works of producers like Joe Gibbs, King Tubbys, Scientist, among others and of course, not forgetting the invaluable contributions of foremost presenters of that era, especially David Rodigan and Barry Gordon, the stage was set for an interesting musical revolution which saw reggae music conquering one continent after the other. Even until this day...

@@tonyogbata2022 been through the journey, and prefer the music from 1961-66,you missed out lovers rock, bangara, digital reggae,i tkink it was 1985 reggae went digital, 1979 we had 2tone,and ub40, and sugar minott, misty in roots was making it big in that year, and as for the artist most of them made thier name through rock steady, was only a marley when he was a wailer. we must remember the sound systems back in the 60ts,from there to here, weather it be,ried, dodd, buster, kinh edwards, tom the sebastian or byron lee, these guys were the pioneers, sadly most jaimcans never here of such men. still a mystery,to when ska actually started,,had many debates, and peoples claims come up short!!! oh well memories flooding back to my youth, when i use to listen to john peel, rankin miss p and lkj on radio to hear what the world of reggae had to offer, peace,

Wwwwooooow. Sunsplash ‘82. So many childhood memories!!! Glad to find this here!
I was there in Montego Bay 1982. I remember Stevie Wonder performed with Third World at 4am.I was half asleep.Fantastic memories Evangelist ROGER MANSOUR former manager of Junior Braitwaite from the original WAILERS
I remember this on some pay channel. We copied it and then I was able to make a tape to listen to off the video. Played that thing all the way through college starting 10 years later. Introduced me to great groups like Steel Pulse, Mighty Diamonds, Burning Spear, and Aswad. One of the fraternities on campus held "Reggaefest" every Spring and one year featured Eek A Mouse. Awesome show!
I wish someone has 81 and 80 this clean
