great video! spent some time in Ecuador back in the 80s, my first trip outside the US and Canada. It was very eye-opening and a great education. The people are wonderful and it was great to learn about their traditions and culture. I lived in Quito, Esmeraldas, Ambato, Tulcan, and Latacunga. I enjoyed the differences of each. The visit to Cotopaxi was more than memorable. It is amazing to see how much has changed. I hope you are able to visit all of the places you have planned, and can't wait for your videos.

You sound out of breath climbing those stairs to get to the top. But once there the views are as amazing as I remember. Cannot wait to go back with my wife whose an Ecuadorian. Her attempts to get me to learn spanish... is slow going. One day though, at least enough to get me by. And oh my oh my, humitas. I am sooooo looking forward to having those again. And my wife has made me that dish right after the humita closeup. So good. 👍 👍 👍 Oh the swing. I definitely remember that. I was to chicken to swing on it, but did sit on it with my wife and have photo proof. I'm deathly afraid of heights, it's my weakness lol. That and sweet tooth. You're also braver than I to eat cuy, because I met someone who raises them for food and felt so bad. Also, I do not remember the name of the restaurant in Quito, but it is two levels and rustic sort of and they served the best blackberry smoothy juice drink I've ever had. Your video brings back so many good memories and cannot wait to go back, and end of July and first week of August me and my wife will be going.

Perfect place to do some work online, and read a book. And going into the roof was cool too. At 10:00 did you get sick when you ate meat for the first time in years? Low temperatures will most likely be in the 50's Fahrenheit in the evenings and up to the mid 70's in the day. If you are venturing out of Quito, to the mountains you will certainly want something more like a fleece. It also rains often so be prepared for that. I would recommend something you could layer.

I am not willing in trying too much of what I do not know. Local fruits 🥥🍌and veggies 🥦🌶🌽 would be a main diet as a start, adding meat 🦜🦧🐑 over time once getting familiar with sanitary guidelines. Seafood 🦐🐟would be much of a temptation though. I have had the best fish once in Venezuela, freshly caught the same morning right out of the ocean.

Are you with a tour guy or not? I’m planing to go solo to Quito this year but I’m a little afraid. It will be my first time traveling by myself. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you. Love your videos.

I was alone but hired a driver to take my from city to city, also had tour guides for various activities but was alone much of the time. I never felt unsafe when I was alone, but it’s best to have cameras and expensive items hidden in Quito
