As a warriors fan im glad he was traded to a team that he fit into. He did not have a big role for us but he found it. Hope he only gets better from here. Keep it going big guy!

James Wiseman only needs to do 3 things 1. Get Stronger 2. Learn How To Set A Fucking Screen 3.Boxout , He does those three things he can be a dominant force, however he still not and wont be more valuable than Jalen Duren. However Im Glad He is on my Piston Team But He needs to come off the bench so he can dominate lesser competition
I believe in his potential. Wish my magic got him instead of the pistons, but we have enough projects at the moment. If detroit can figure out how to use his athleticism and versatility, he's gonna be an all star soon. However, he has to improve his IQ first. And detroit has to decide if his development is more important than Duren's.

Why not both?
@jeremyking9442

@@keepitrealhomes Their games clash. Both players require the paint to be effective. Even if Wisemen eventually develops a trustworthy jumper, both players still operate heavily in the paint and would be sacrificing heavily if either couldn't do that. And if the plan becomes to spot up wisemen, then you might as well just get a real stretch 4 for that role that can defend.
@riseabove2207

@@jeremyking9442 Mobley and Allen are a great duo. The only thing holding them back is a SF that can hit 3’s. I believe the pistons can function the same way with a shooter at the 3(Bojan, Whitmore, etc). Also, people forget about Cade, he will get duren and wiseman spoonfed, fool-proof buckets. Similar to what he did for bagley in his rookie season.
@jeremyking9442

@@riseabove2207 "great" is an interesting label from a duo that got bodied by Mitchell Robinson combined, proved neither one of them could do much more than dunk the ball in a playoff setting which made them incredibly easy to defend, and are the reason their team, which had ECF potential, lost in the first round in an upset. On top of that, Mobley is a great deal more mobile than both Duren and Wiseman with better defensive instincts than both. Instead of Mobley and Allen, think of AD and Drummond, the front court Duo that clashed heavily on both ends and resulted in another bullet point on a list of disappointments that year for the lakers
He is only 22, y'all are expecting way to much from him. Dude is still a kid and some people are more mature and learn faster then others even though the physical gifts are there, he needs time to figure it out. Im willing to bet that in 5 years he will be someone y'all are wanting on your team.

This isn’t about talent.. this is about fit… this kid is great player. His style didn’t match GS… but with the right organization, this guy can be apart of an NBA Championship rotation. Understanding his role defensively will be his pay day.

I still thinks dubs gave up too early. Loon took seasons before he groomed into the undersized dog he is now. Wiseman had more upside. He was more agile and could spread the floor. He just wasn't at that advanced level of IQ to know what and when to do yet. COVID and injuries didn't help his case either. No doubt warriors could look back on this trade as a loss, if he does improve

If this dude doesn't ball out with the Pistons, I could never convince myself that he isn't a bust. For some time, I convinced myself that he was a rookie and he got injuired most of his time with the GSW hence he couldn't show his true potential, but his time with the Pistons now hasn't really shown any reasons why he was even drafted that high. He´s still a bum. His defence is awful and he can make empty stats on a bottom of the league team with enough minutes. But that doesn´t mean he´s good now. In fact, his stats per 36 min are EXACTLY the same as when he was with GSW.
I hope he can turn into that viable PF for the Pistons. I see what Weaver is trying to create a twin tower line up that will be a nightmare for opposing teams. If Wiseman can harness his talent and focus a little more on defense the sky is the limit.

I’m a warriors fan. I had high hopes for this kid. I thought he was a future star long term. Short term I thought he’d be a Javale McGee type off the bench that would give them some lob dunks and solid defense. Too bad it never happened. In the end the stats don’t lie. His plus/minus and his defense were god awful. He wasn’t good enough to contribute on a contending team.

One phenomenon that happens is fans EXPECT so much from players allowed to enter the Draft due to FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. (Hardship Cases). These players aren't "supposed" to be stars. They're typically PAR FOR THE COURSE talents that QUALIFY ECONOMICALLY, not because they're SUPER EXTRAORDINARY. They should NOT be held to a HIGHER STANDARD.
