I feel like Gavin just heard “You’ve got another thing coming” wrong when he was a kid and just stuck with it thinking it was his way of saying it until he encountered people saying the expression correctly and he was like “must be an American thing”

“Another think coming” is the older form of the expression and most style guides say it’s the correct one. Thing doesn’t make sense with the rest of the saying.

Had to look it up but according to Merriam dictionary he's right it's a UK/US thing. I'm from the UK I've always said think

The problem is, according to Merriam-Webster, he's actually correct, and I hate it. You've got another think coming is the older of the two, even though it's used less today. I hate how every time Gavin says something that sounds wrong, somehow he ends up being right.
