​@logamuffin3876 I tried the private server method back in june. It took some time to get it running. But unfortunately, it's very glitchy. For example, even if you and a friend start a quest at the same time. There are issues with loading the assets of that quest. Unless it's been updated since June 2023, it's not a pleasant time and worth going through the effort to set it up.

Yeah, imagine that. Given the severe limitations of animations, physics and gun play it would look and feel *incredibly* shit. Love New Vegas to death, it's a fantastically crafted world by people who knew and loved what they were doing, I've spent hundreds of hours habiting its world since it came out and it's still one of the premier single player experiences, however, it is built on the shittiest framework possible, everything outside of dialogue boxes is a pain in the ass rather than enjoyable gameplay, it's exactly the opposite of what a good multiplayer game oughta be. And yes, I'm running around 40 or so mods, no regurgitating fan fiction or equally pointless texture packs, just stuff to make it handle a little less stiff, and it *still* plays like absolute garbage.

my brother in christ, you downloaded new vegas you knew what it played like. i dont give a fuck about janky animations, i play fallout rp in gmod. and the gun play isnt even that bad tbh fo4 didn't even feel like an improvement. also im sure client side mods, like animation replaces, could be supported if not now than eventually, since it shouldn't matter what the animation looks like on other peoples ends as long as they play at the same time.@@JohnDaubSuperfan369

It would have to be done as a framework, I think, and then you'd have to create guilds for it, with each member having an identical load order and .ini's. Still, imagine that. If your party could consist of human _and_ npc companions. Thing is, you'd have to nominate one player in your guild/party to be the main player character, the one to go through the dialogue trees to advance the quests. It'd still be fun as hell, though.

After I first saw the Skyrim multiplayer stuff I thought; why not New Vegas? Turns out it has finally happened and that's incredibly cool despite all the bugs.

Agreed been playing this game since I was young maybe 14 or 15 possibly younger enjoyed the hell out of it but always wanted a friend to play with and it's cool they did it even with the bugs it's still really cool and worth it

my friend and i have similar opinions on this like why they thought multiplayer meant some 50+ people on the same server is beyond me look at farcry games there kinda mid but super fun with 2 people playing

I got the Tale Of Two Wasteland mod to work with the NV:MP mod and it's a blast. Gonna play through the entirety of Fallout 3 and New Vegas with my girlfriend here soon!

ww I'll finally have time wednesday-sunday this next week. I'll get my multiplayer up to date and we can record some stuff.

Ngl, this mod needs so much stuff to be enjoyable. Either ability to make factionless locations into outpost/faction houses for factions, being able to conquer other map markers or completely brand new places for locations. Also if we keep NPC's in game, then they have to be reworked to work like in MMORPGs, so they keep being even remotely challenge to op humans 😂.

eh with johnny guitar, the anti stutter and crash mods fixes just about everything works in single player. It's an old 2009 game, not supported anymore, so you're gonna need to do some work arounds to get it to work properly.

when the animations broke on the strip, it straight up looked like when toys didn't have posable arms and legs so you'd play with them by just wiggling them around at eachother.

I hope this sees continued development, what TES3MP enjoys an excellent reputation for adding a MP experience to Morrowind and a developed NV MP would certainly be fascinating to compare and contrast.

there has been dozen of iterations of bringing multiplayer into fo3 and FNV. As old as 10 decades ago.

If I were you, I would go to lonesome road, get the vendor terminal working and buy riot gear, then come back. You would absolutely steamroll the entire map

i tried feb/2023 and still unplayable (crashes and crashes and quest just not working), if the mod team quit the RP stuff and focused in making the game have a coop platform to stand on, there is a Stalker SoC coop mod that has 50% of campain working and the New Vegas MP mod still in the same place for years

It would be really awesome if they got this working better. I have heard whispers of people thinking about using the OpenMW engine to pull it off in the future if they add support for F3/NV assets to the engine and get the renderer up to snuff with Skyrim. But that's probably a ways off. OpenMW multiplayer already works much better than this though.

you're just supposed to follow the story and fuck around in random directions, letting the pace of the game just flow naturally

by the way, an easy way to dupe with NVMP is this: Player 1 kills someone/opens safe/box Player 1 looks at dead person/safe/box Player 2 come in the room and loots dead person/safe/box Player 2 leaves room and either teleports somewhere or leaves building Player 1 still looks at dead body/safe/box Player 2 comes back to dead body/safe/box and it will regenerate everything dead person had in inventory Also if you want to do the casino cap glitch, before you leave the casino with your "glitched money", kill someone in the casino that has caps in their invintory, place all of your caps in the dead person's invintory, leave and come back to casino, loot the dead person and you will have 1+ Million caps. The reasons why is because when youre in SP, the game can't check if the money is "real" but in NVMP, because you are pinging, it checks better and when you leave the casino and checks that the caps are glitched, it will correct itself. If you are wanting to dupe any other items in the thousands, do the setups in SP (except for caps, read above on how to do it), then run that save in NVMP. This is what I've learned throughout my time playing NVMP with my friends. Crashes happen a lot too so remember to press F5 :)

Tbh its a lot harder to make a game into a multiplayer game when it was made for single player. Certain VFX depend on the player camera, as well as weapons.

Saying Bethesda couldn't get multiplayer right is a massive stretch. On release 76 was a mess but a long while before this video was posted they fixed it. So if that was true it would have been a cool narative but fallout 76 has been good for years at this point.

The best way to go about this would probs be to port literally everything from NV onto 76’s engine. That would be sick. It would be piracy, but it would indeed be sick.

i low key miss the days of completed unbroken games being released and somehow they just did it right.. and as appealing as multiplayer is.. i miss the simplicity of things like ps2 and n64. don’t get me wrong.. i love the wasteland we are given again and again, the bought dlc’s ect ect.. i’m just kind of over buying broken shit and it being the norm.. it would be so refreshing to have a clean non glitchy play through sometime soon.. this shit is exhausting.. anybody feel that too or is it just me?
