You are such an amazing person, I really appreciate you for sharing your private settings with us, I'm literally recording now at the best quality I've ever recorded haha, I appreciate your help and I'm sure everyone else is. Continue your hard work, and good luck!
i had been having problems with stuttering in my obs recording software and this video helped me a lot... now i can record at high fps with no stutters in my videos :)
Thanks a lot! My game capture quality got horrible out of nowhere, but switching to CQP and normal priority has it back crystal clear. I can finally start my gaming channel lol
Thank you so much - your video help me a lot for my first time im streaming
Quick and easy to follow. Thank you
You earned yourself a subscriber my man, I can finally go back to recording. Thank you
Thanks a lot!
Great video! Thank you for the clear explanation
Thanks you helped out big time g
Man thanks for this. My recordings have been looking like poop, and I couldn’t find the right settings. This made my recordings SO MUCH CLEANER.
thank you!
Thanks for the great updated explanation! :)
Hell yeah man great guide! I thought i was stuck with somewhat blurry recordings because of my setup, but i have a 2070 super as well and can record insanely crisp 1440p video with this. Although 5 minutes of footage is 15 gigs lol
hey man, one thing you should do is when you putting out this videos put also ut your current Pc machine info in the deskritions, so we can know what settings you are using compare to what Pc u have and also allow us to compare your pc machine parts with ours to see a clearly pic of what we can put ours settings on :D
Thanks! These settings were super helpful!

Thanks bro, you helped me so much improove quality. You are the best! Keep it up!
Hey bro I love your content, I setup my in’s with your videos
Great video! Could you do a list on quality settings for off loading your recording on CPU. I have a i7-7900k with a MSI 2080, would like to keep my GPU for gaming without dropping frames?
Awesome Tutorial Bro Love it and thanks brotha 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
thanks bud
Thank you so much! This helped me a lot! Although, when I tried these settings on my budget pc, it couldn't handle it and using x264 is definitely not an option for me. So, I experimented and after a few minutes of testing I finally was able to record smoothly with a fairly decent quality. Things I changed: Preset: Performance (in "Output" tab) Profile: Main (in "Output" tab) Process Priority: High (in "Advanced" tab) Color Range: Partial (in "Advanced" tab, though I haven't tested using full combined with this new settings) Here's some of my PC Specs for reference: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G w/ Radeon Vega Graphics 3.60 GHz 16GB RAM Asus GeForce GTX 1650 4GB

Really appreciated! now with the new version of OBS I have a few questions. We have two new options, Multipass mode (single pass, two passes etc) and Preset options are different now. Any recommendation?
Legit! thanks man
Awesome video. Also, what settings are the best if you want to record 1+ hour gameplay footage?

Happy to help!
Great vid. Question for ya. I understand having the highest quality big files if you're recording gaming or something of the sort, but what about simply recording a video like this one? I'm using OBS to record some educational videos which, like this, would be 90% screengrab and my voice and the occasional video of myself through the webcam. Should I be using these settings as well? Does it make a big difference in screengrabs compared to say recording a fast-paced 60fps videogame? Thanks.
Thanks bro!

You bet!
THANK YOU THIS IS BETTER THAN MY OLD RECORDING
Best video on this topic i seen so far, good looks for simplying it for the high school drop outs
Thank you very much for the tutorial... but i cant find the "Rate Control" window
What’s your recommendation for a drive to store your videos if cranking up the quality? External ssd? Or big hdd? O have an 8tb external but tremendously slower as we already know
Hi awesome video! I'm getting "encoder overloaded" when playing for instance dayz, but not warzone. How can I fix this?
mkv is easy to convert to mp4 in obs, without any loss of quality, so i would recommend to put it on mkv to start with.
Good video.
Good video. Really improved recording quality, file size is pretty big though
This is great my recordings are smooth as now
great vid but i dont have cqp for me what should i do
I just set up my obs as I was recording gameplay as I’m not much of a streamer. But recorded 5 mins of gameplay while it looks exactly like the game I’m playing also came in at 8gb in size. Also recording at 1440p so I’m wondering if I should drop the recordings to 1080/60.
0:14 it happens to the best of us...
This works nicely even with my GT 640 2gb I was worried it would freeze up but no and my cpu usage is almost non existence which is surprising since I have a duel core.. and I was using about 15-40% before now I'm about 5-30%
Hey so I have a pretty nice computer - 3070 gpu with a ryzen 7 3700x and while recording, the game runs perfect! However, looking back at the footage, it doesn't seem to be recording as smooth as I want it too even though I did exactly as the video said. Is there any other settings I can tweak without losing quality while gaining an overall smooth video?
Very helpful indeed! Still doesn't make my computer any less of a potato tho.
would you recommend these OBS settings still for recording in 1440p?
so for my video settings base canvas resolution is 2560x1440 the output scaled resolution is defaulted to 1920x1080. Am I supposed to change the Output Scaled Resolution to 2560x1440? Also amazing video this has been so good and greatly detailed!
Is there a way to also record game play and voice on 2 diff audio tracks with a goxlr 2 pc setup?
With ryzen 9 5900x and rtx 3070 ti gygabite i want to stream and record the same time with record at higher quality. Should i have to use nnveck new as enncoder for both or i have to stream with nnvidia and record with my processor? Ty
for rate control I don't have the same options you do. I have CBR, ABR, VBR, and CRF. Can you help me figure out settings with one of these. No idea what any of it means
wait i have a quisti on for the fps should i set it to my gamplay fps or does 60 look the same
do you recommend recording in 1080p even though i have a monitor that i play in 1440p
When I go the the encoder option, there isn't the NVIDIA one to select just x264, Apple VT H264 Software encoder and hardware encoder. Which one do I pick? Or do I need a different computer of graphics card?
What does it mean to have keyframe interval at 2 and not 0? For my stream settings I have that set to 0, does it need to match my recording?
hi there I have a question if you could answer me please. In the 5:44 of your video you are talking about CQP quality level of recording 14 how it will make videos crystal clear and my question is what if I am going to use a video editing software like shotcut after OBS recording with such settings is the quality preset and level of 14 in OBS still going to make the video crystal clear after I edited and compressed it with shotcut or should I just record in OBS with fast settings to a very large file and then edit it in shotcut, does it make any difference since I know the high quality in OBS is just going to compress recording and Shotcut editing software will have to decompress the whole video before editing so what should I do and will high quality obs recording still be much better when using final editing software like shotcut?
Great tutorial but what would you recommend as CBR and its bitrate if one would choose to use x264 as an encoder instead of the video card?

I have the same question lol
how do I setup my Sony a6400. no-one has a clear cut how-to video, my webcam for this iMac is not high quality enough.
If i use avermedia capture card , will this setting use my gpu or capture card?
These settings do not allow me to add my mp4 capture to davinci resolve but if i change the type to cutom output it works fine
Thanks so much, used windows Xbox game capture and wow, was it trash. Thanks my guy!
Can u put out a video on how to turn the lag down on your lives
Where would I locate the option for CQP...? In my OBS dropdown, the only options are: CBR, ABR, VBR, and CRF.
If I game on 1440p should my canvas size in obs be 1440p then I can scale it down to 1080p? Or do I just make the canvas 1080p and when I fit the windows that auto scales them?
Hey could you or someone help me? I did these settings and my obs recordings while streaming end up having parts in the recording where it stutters for the video and audio
Thanks for this, it works a treat on my setup. Unfortunately this old face does not look to good in lossless 1920x1024, its a cross I have to bear. Now where's that 20TB SSD? I' need for recording.😉
Slight issue. If you put the encoder to x264 there is no CQP setting for Rate Control

@@nothing-fh8vi do you have any idea on how to get preset on x264?
I see Tutorials on KZread for various software, like learning Photoshop or Autocad. Are these settings good to record my own tutorials onto my hard drive (NOT STREAMING) and then cut and edit in an editor without losing much quality? Most projects I have done in the past are full RAW videos which naturally have full frame rate. Perfect for editing, but take massive hard drive space.
Do you have anything for help on obs 2023?
Ur Best
